Drivin’ Betta

Yesterday, Gullivarrr was washed up on the beach. So I went diving to retrieve his communicator for him.

Today, I did some early afternoon fishing….and you betta believe it paid off! I caught my first betta in the river!

I caught a betta! I betta not drop it!

I donated it to the museum, and there’s only one more fish I need…the golden trout. But I can’t catch it until September, so I can now focus on bugs for the summer.

I neglected to mention this the other day, but you can now find a sunflower crown and a sunflower rug available as seasonal items from Nook Shopping. You have until Monday to order them.

Sunflower crown: 1,560 bells.

When I checked my mail, I found a red sea captain’s coat from Gullivarrr.

At Agent S’s house, Apollo was hanging out with his nose in Agent S’s dollhouse. Literally.

K.K. Slider was in town for his Saturday night show, so I requested “Drivin’,” which is one of his secret songs.

K.K.: Right on. I'm tuned up and ready to roll. Who's in the mood for a little Drivin'?

If I’m not mistaken, I just need one more song that I’ll probably request next week.

I’ve finished removing what was left of my Mario obstacle course this weekend, and I’ve made significant progress on my new race. In fact, it’s probably 80-85% done. And it will be a race, not an obstacle course. It’s going to be simple, but hopefully it will still be fun. I’m hoping to have the race one day next week. If you’re on Twitter, follow jvgsjeff for more info when the time comes.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Sam’s Birthday Party

Yesterday, Louie asked me to make a delivery to Eloise. I agreed, and I took over the gift…which was a bidet. Eloise loved it! She said it was so elegant, so sleek, and so HER. 😂😂

Eloise: A bidet! My goodness! So elegant. So sleek. So totally ME!

She rewarded me with a soccer-uniform top.

Yesterday, Jolly Redd was in town for the first time in June. Unfortunately, his only real work of art was a wistful painting (which I already have in the museum). I bought it anyway though, and I’ll add it to the haul of prizes that I’ll give away whenever I make a new race or obstacle course. (I have not started on one yet, by the way.)

Wisp was also in town, and I gathered up his ghostly spirits in exchange for a school desk. I’m guessing it must have been a color variation I didn’t have already.

Today, C.J. was in town. He wanted me to catch three small-fry fish, so I rounded up three crucian carp to complete the challenge. I grabbed some fish out of storage, and sold him 21 fish for 273,900 bells.

C.J.: Oh, you got a whole school for me? All together that'll be... 273,900 bells. Deal?

Midge asked me for a new catchphrase, so I told her to say “in the sky.”

Tonight, I went over to Sam’s town of Seattle. He was having a birthday party, and we were joined by Jac, Jesse, Jessica, Matthew, and Nicky.

Jac asked if anyone wanted an iron garden bench DIY, and I did! Believe it or not, I’ve been waiting to get that recipe for a long time! My villagers never gave it to me, and it’s not even a snooty recipe! At one point, I waited to remodel Peach Park because I was wanting that recipe first (though I eventually went on ahead with Peach Park 2.0 even without it). So I’m really glad to have it now. Thanks, Jac! 🙂

After Sam dug holes for all to fall into, we headed back to his house to celebrate. Happy birthday, Sam!

Celebrating Sam's birthday.

But that wasn’t the only special occasion in town; Tangy was also celebrating a birthday! Happy birthday, Tangy!

Tangy: Whaaat?! You got me a red sparkler?!
You deserve it; you’re a firecracker!

Oddly enough, she later had some dialogue talking about her exploding! 😮

Tangy: I'm so happy I might explode! Please promise you'll clean up if I explode?

Sam gave us each an orange to eat in front of Tangy. 😛 I’m not sure if we were threatening her or what, but it sure was a nice, juicy orange! 🍊

Jessica left, and the rest of us watched K.K. Slider perform his birthday song for Sam.

A couple people dressed up as me, and some of us ran around as King Tut. We had a net fight, played some basketball (sort of), and showed off some fish. Even my ocean sunfish showed off a shark! 😉

An ocean sunfish and a shark.

After two hours in Seattle, I left for the night. But I had a good time! Happy birthday, Sam!

I posted a new video today, taking a look at how my island has changed from the first few weeks to now. I hope you enjoy it!

Note: There will not be a Friday Night Forest this week.

Colored Pencil Tree?

Midge is apparently taking up smoking! She was looking for a pipe! 😂

Midge: I've had no luck finding a pipe...

Nah, she just wanted to buy my (warp) pipe, but I didn’t want to sell it.

I found a lost item on the ground, and it turned out to be Tybalt’s workout journal. When I returned it to him, he rewarded me with a fragrance diffuser.

Tybalt: Here! Your very own new-smelling fragrance diffuser! Enjoy!
But won’t it diffuse its own new smell?

Bones told me that he loves drawing with colored pencils because they smell neat. He wondered where they came from, so he started sniffing lots of trees.

Bones: I know colored pencils are made of trees...so I've smelled a buncha trees... A BUNCHA trees...

However, he never found a colored pencil tree. I wonder why. 😛

Bones: But I never found a colored-pencil tree.
Maybe it already got chopped down to make your pencils.

Label was in town, and she wanted to see me modeling a party outfit. She gave me a prince’s tunic as an example of what to use. So I put it on, but I also added some spangle shorts, birthday hat, and birthday shades.

She said it was perfect! So she gave me some Labelle tights and she’ll also be sending me some tailors tickets in the mail.

Label: And it all comes together in fashion perfection. Your taste is impeccable, Jeff.

Celeste was in town tonight, and she taught me a DIY recipe for a tree-branch wand.

SWEET! I learned a DIY recipe for a tree-branch wand!
I’ll name it Michelle.

Nintendo held their E3 Nintendo Direct today. But unfortunately, there was no mention of the next New Horizons update. 🙁

As for the video I mentioned that will showcase different parts of my town (but not a town tour), I’m hoping to have it up in the next couple days or so. See you all next time.
