Disappearing Elephant

It’s K.K. Slider night, and several of my villagers were seated around K.K. to enjoy the show. However, Eloise was standing right in the middle of them. She wasn’t walking through, she was literally just standing there doing nothing.

Eloise stands in the center of K.K.'s performance area.

So I decided to have a little fun with it…or at least try to. In older Animal Crossing games, you could request a phony song title and K.K. would (after the show), say something like “Sorry, but I don’t know _____________.” I used this multiple times in previous games.

K.K.: Thing is... I don't know why I kissed you. It's just not on my set light, dig?

So I tried something similar, and hoped that Eloise would still be standing there by the end of the song. I wanted K.K. to say “I don’t know why she’s standing there.” Once making the request, I sat down, and the song started. But something happened that I was not expecting: Eloise disappeared once the show started!

Everyone gathers around K.K. Slider, except for Eloise, who disappeared!

Just to be clear, she did not walk out of the area. But apparently, villagers who aren’t seated no longer show up during shows?? Watching villagers walk through shows was also fun, so I really don’t understand why they changed this…unless it’s just a glitch?

Once the song ended, Eloise reappeared. But I was very disappointed by something else: K.K. does not mention the song title you requested. He just says he “didn’t know the song you wanted.”

K.K.: Well, I've got a confession. I didn't know the song you wanted, so I pulled one out of my back catalog.

Oh well. It was worth a try, though!

When I spoke with Bones, he said sometimes plays so hard that he forgets to go home when the sun goes down. He also forgets where he lives, and even wonders if he’s a werewolf and if he ate someone. Wow, that’s really bad.

Bones: I scream, 'What am I doing outside? How'd I get out of my house? Am I a werewolf? DID I EAT ANYBODY?!'

But Eloise and Bones weren’t the only villagers acting weird tonight. Tia told me that she likes her ears in her tea! 😉

Tia: I'll come right out and say it... I like my ears, in my tea!

I did a little diving (to meet a Nook Miles+ goal, of course), and I found a scallop. Pascal showed up and started talking about tall people. He also made an X-Files reference, saying “the truth is up there” instead of “the truth is out there.” 😛

Pascal: Tall people, maaan. Is the extra reach worth all the bonked heads? The answer is up there...

I hope you’re enjoying your weekend. See you next time!

Dirty Coffee

If you’re not aware, the rodeo-style springy ride-on is again available as a seasonal item from Nook Shopping (for Brazil’s Cowboy Festival). It’s the same one that was available last year, but you can order it now through August 15th if you missed out on it last time.

Yesterday, Bones told me he was trying to act more mature…so he started making coffee. Except that it tasted like angry, hot, black water. Eww.

Bones: But my coffee is the WORST! It's just angry...hot...black...water!

He concluded that he must be adding too much dirt to it. 😮 Yeah, that would make it pretty nasty.

Bones: I gotta be doin' something wrong! Maybe I'm using too much dirt...

C.J. was in town and he had a freestyle seasports challenge for me. I caught a freshwater goby, hammerhead shark, dace, crucian carp, and pale chub to complete the challenge.

But before I could grab fish from storage to sell to C.J., Hornsby distracted me. He said he got into a fight with Apollo, and he wanted to send a gift to patch things up. So I took the package up to Eagle Mountain, and it contained…a cardboard box!

Apollo: A cardboard box! I really do like this style!

Apollo inexplicably loved it, thinking that Hornsby went out of his way to send a nice gift. 😀 He rewarded me with a chef’s outfit.

Fortunately, I then remembered to grab some fish out of storage. Even though I only had six fish, most of them were sharks…so C.J. paid me 109,500 bells for them.

Today, Jac mailed me a superhero uniform for Hornsby (after seeing Hornsby’s superhero comments from the other day). So I passed it on to Hornsby, and he loved it! Thanks, Jac! Hornsby rewarded me with some bunny ears.

Hornsby: Well? How's it look? I really dig this color! Thanks, maximum!

Since I had a leftover tailors ticket, I used it to buy some bubblegum at Able Sisters.

Flick was in town, so I sold him eight bugs for 72,000 bells.

I posted the latest Wi-Fi Moments video today featuring online highlights of the past few months…including the return of Yann, who was in many of my ACCF Wi-Fi Moments videos.

I’ve been in a bit of a New Horizons lull lately, which often happens in between big projects (like my races and obstacle courses). So I’m going to reduce the frequency of blog entries to a minimum of three per week. (Some weeks may still have four, particularly when things pick up with some villager movement or my next designing project.) I’ll still be playing daily though.

But lately, I’ve been playing more Wild World as I work towards getting my golden axe (and some other goals) in that game. So if you’re interested, head on over to my Wild World Blog.

See you all next time! Have a great weekend! 🙂

Bagel Boy Jr.

Yesterday, I found Gullivarrr passed out on the beach. When I woke him up, he told me he dreamed about pirate battles.

Gullivarrr: Blimey! What a dream. I was in the midst of a fierce pirate battle with one of me greatest rivals, arrr!

I went diving for his communicator and found it on my 4th attempt.

Bones was also on the beach, and he was thinking about moving out of town. I made him reconsider.

Phoebe the ostrich phoenix was camping at the campsite, and she’s pretty cool. If I had an opening in town, I might consider taking her. But I wasn’t willing to force anyone out for her.

Phoebe: I wanna tell you that it's seriously rad here. I don't know what I was expecting, but I'm blown away.

Eloise asked me to play a treasure hunt game, and I was up to the challenge. She gave me six minutes to find the buried item, but I only needed a bit more than two minutes. It was near the arches.

I found treasure!

I returned the item to her and she opened it up for me. Some oval glasses were inside. These treasure hunt games are rare enough that they should really reward us with furniture, not accessories.

Today, I received my reward from Gullivarrr: It was another pirate beard.

When I visited Hornsby, he told me what he wanted to do with his life: He’s going to be a superhero! But not just any superhero, he’s going to be Bagel Boy Jr.!

Hornsby: I'll be a superhero! Lookout, evil! Here comes BAGEL BOY JR.!

Celeste was in town tonight, and she taught me a DIY recipe for an astronaut suit!

SWEET! I learned a DIY recipe for an astronaut suit!

It’s actually a furniture item, not clothing. So I made one and put it in my space room upstairs.

Jolly Redd was in town today, but the only real work of art he had was a flowery painting (which I already have in the museum). But I still bought one to give as another future prize. I also bought Redd’s throwback rocket and beach chair, because he had color variations I didn’t already have in my catalog.

I met some more Nook Miles+ goals just for fun; I still enjoy earning Nook Miles even though I have over a million, and I rarely spend any. 😛

No Friday Night Forest this week, but I’ll be back with another entry soon.
