Tortimer is Missing!

We’re in the second half of November now, and maple leaves now fall from the sky. You can catch them with your net and use them for crafting some seasonal recipes.

Static was sitting on the park fountain in my town yesterday, and I just had to take a picture.

I just hope he doesn’t fall in, because ⚡ and 💧 don’t mix. And nobody would like the smell of an electrocuted squirrel.

The graceful painting I purchased from Redd on Monday turned out to be a forgery. At Redd’s shop, he replaced it with another fake graceful painting!

After getting some coffee at the Roost, Brewster had another gift for me: Coffee beans!

Brewster: Some coffee beans... I'll put it in your pockets for you...

While it obviously reminded me of the reward for working the part-time job in New Leaf, these coffee beans are just a regular furniture item.

On Harv’s Island, I was really confused when I saw Tortimer/Cornimer was missing!

Tortimer is not standing at his RV.

Unlike most of the other vendors here, he doesn’t visit the main island. But when I saw that Leif was also missing, that’s when I figured out the problem. I was playing after 11 p.m., so those two must have already closed up shop for the night. (I usually visit Harv’s Island before that time.)

Today, Nook Shopping had a dormant volcano for sale! The price was steep at 97,000 bells, but this a cool item to have…even if I have no current plans for it.

Dormant volcano: 97,000 bells.

Jolly Redd’s ship was parked at the north beach, so I checked out his works of art. He had two fake works of art, and two real ones that I didn’t need.

I did a little redecorating in my house, with my kitchen now in the room on the left. I moved all my gyroids to the basement, where there’s more space.

My gyroids as of November 17, 2021.

Here are a few other quick notes, mainly about special visitors and mysterious islands:

  • Wisp gave me a horizontal organizer yesterday.
  • I recovered Gullivarrr’s communicator yesterday, and he sent me another pirate outfit in the mail today.
  • I recently crafted a vine hanging chair. But despite what I initially thought/hoped, it doesn’t actually hang from the ceiling. 😛
  • Tuesday’s mysterious island yielded a full-grown gyroid (likely because it was raining there) in addition to the usual gyroid fragment. It was a bwongoid, if you’re wondering.
  • Today’s mysterious island was a vine island. That makes three vine islands in the last four days!

See you all next time!

More Roost Customers

Yesterday, Nook’s Cranny had a zen light for sale. It’s one of the new items that hangs from the ceiling. I bought it, but I didn’t keep it in my house.

Timmy: Seems like you're interested in a zen light.

When I visited Apple, she told me she has been craving chow mein lately. She said she likes to put whipped cream and sprinkles on it, and top it with an apple garnish! Does she garnish it with herself? 😮

Apple: It's, like, a savory sundae! Top it off with an apple garnish and you've got a four-star meal.

At the Roost last night, I found a villager enjoying coffee for the first time. It was Bones, and he said that coffee fills up his happy battery.

Bones: Nothing fills my happy battery like Brewster's coffee. I'm gonna play SO MUCH later, at the Depot!

As I was drinking some coffee today, Isabelle came in to order some coffee to-go. It’s nice to see the Roost getting some regular business!

Isabelle: Work is slow right now, so Mr. Nook suggested I come over here for a little coffee break.
He was trying to get rid of you. 😛

Today is Monday, which means the vendors on Harv’s island have new inventory for the week! I bought a few things from Saharah and Kicks, and I also purchased a graceful painting from Redd. Unfortunately, Leif didn’t have any veggies/starts that I still needed.

As for mysterious islands, I found myself on vine/glowing moss islands both yesterday and today. They had different layouts, but they were both pretty cool!

Flick was in town tonight, and I sold him 50k worth of bugs (mostly tarantulas and scorpions I had in storage). I then wished on a couple of shooting stars before wrapping up my game for the night.

If you’re interested, here’s my latest video. It’s a quick one, taking a look at what it might be like if we could cook meat (bacon, to be specific) in the game. 😛

See you next time!

Pigeon Milk

Gulliver sent me a hula doll in the mail today. I also received my calm painting from Jolly Redd, and it turned out to be authentic! So naturally, I donated it to the museum.

While I was there, I stopped in the Roost to get some coffee. Brewster asked me if I wanted some pigeon milk. As gross as that sounds, I said yes. But this is one of those times I’m glad video games haven’t emulated the sense of taste. 😛

Brewster: Coo... You want pigeon milk in that?

Shortly after 6:00, I attended K.K. Slider’s show. He performed K.K. Hop for me, Hornsby, Eloise, and Louie. As soon as the song started, my three villagers whipped out glow sticks! I couldn’t do that, but I could clap. And when I clapped, they also clapped (but only with one hand, because they were holding glow sticks). 😛

Eloise and Louie hold a glow stick and applaud with one hand during K.K.'s show. Jeff and Hornsby are also in attendance.

I took Kapp’n’s boat ride to a mysterious island, and I arrived on a winter island for the first time! Snowflakes were flying, but apparently it wasn’t the holiday season on that island. So there were no ornaments to be found.

A winter island.

Back in Forest, I moved my ironwood kitchen from outside and put it in my basement. I may make a kitchen…but then again, maybe I should put my gyroids down here and put the kitchen in my left room instead. Regardless, I made a new stonework kitchen to put outside (so I can now cook inside or out).

My outdoor kitchen and farming area.

As for outdoor decorating, I’m also considering removing my oasis and replacing it with something else. I may try some things out in the coming days.
