Refreshing Redd’s Inventory

On Wednesday night, I bought an ancient statue from Jolly Redd’s shop on Harvey’s island. I knew it was a fake when I bought it, but it makes for a good decoration. However, there was also another benefit to that purchase: Redd replaced it with another work of art the next day!

The gallant statue for sale at Redd's shop on Harvey's Island.
The statue is about twice as tall as Redd’s RV!

It was a gallant statue, and it turned out to be fake…but that’s okay. Because now I know that I can keep refreshing Redd’s inventory by buying a work of art every day! So there is a reason to visit Harv’s island every day, at least until your art gallery is complete. If you don’t buy anything from Redd, the selection apparently only changes once a week (on Mondays).

Celeste was in town last night, and she taught me how to make a starry-skies rug.

Today, Gulliver was in town. I dug through the sand to find the five pieces of his communicator, and he promised to mail me a prize.

Apple taught me how to make some pumpkin soup, and it’s a nice easy recipe: All I need is three pumpkins to make it! I have plenty of pumpkins in storage, so this will be an easy thing to make whenever I have cooking as one of my Nook Miles+ goals.

YUM! Now I can make some pumpkin soup!

A new seasonal item is available, and it’s called a chitose ame. You can order it now through November 20th, at a price of 1,000 bells.

Chitose ame: 1,000 bells.

Redd had a calm painting for sale today on Harv’s Island, and I bought it. I’m not sure if it’s real or fake. Today’s mysterious island had tomatoes, so I plucked them all clean.

Back in Forest, I bought another cup of coffee at the Roost. As I was about to walk out the door, Brewster told me he had something for me!

Brewster: I've got something for you... Think of it as my way of saying thanks.

He gave me a recipe for a Roost sablé cookie; it just requires flour and sugar to make.

Wisp was in town tonight, and I gathered up his spirits for him. In return, he gave me an impish costume.

I then went diving and found a scallop. That prompted Pascal to pop up, and he gave me a pearl…and some pearls of wisdom.

Pascal: When I swim in the sea and get wet... the ocean gets a little bit dryer. Do I, like, owe the ocean an apology?

I posted my latest video yesterday, Wi-Fi Moments #20. If you haven’t seen it yet, please check it out.

Have a great weekend, and I’ll see you all next time!

Harv’s Island Complete!

Louie sent me another work of art in the mail today, a serene painting. It was real, but I didn’t need it. I also got my scenic painting from Redd in the mail. It was authentic as well, and I donated it to the museum.

I was hanging out in my gyroid room when Apple started yelling at me! She had quite an ultimatum for me! 😮

Apple: I came to hang out, so, um, let me in, or die!

I went back to the main room to let her in, and she gave me an orange that totally wasn’t poisonous. (Yeah, right.)

Apple: It's not like it's poisonous or anything, or die!

Later, I returned a lost item I found to Apple. She rewarded me with an athletic outfit.

Out on Harv’s island, Katrina’s fortune telling stand was now available to use. For 1,000 bells, she can tell us about our luck for the day, or she can tell us about our friendship with a certain villager. I asked about my friendship with Static, and she said the two of us are bound together by the strongest of bonds.

Katrina: Oh... Oh, I see something... Yes...

I paid her another 1,000 bells to ask about my luck for the day, and she said that my luck with friendship will improve. I seriously doubt that, but okay, sure. 😛

Next, I went over to speak to Harvey. He confirmed that this area is now complete!

Harvey: Isn't out little co-op beautiful? It's hard to believe it's all done. My dream actually came true!

Since the shops here only seem to update their inventory once a week, I may soon just visit weekly (unless I need to have a certain item customized that I can’t do myself). Cornimer has already given me more acorns than I’d normally acquire in a year, so I can’t see many reasons to keep coming back multiple times a week.

Kapp’n later took me to a mysterious island, and it had some odd path markings on the ground. But it also had some pumpkins growing.

Odd paths and pumpkins on a mysterious island.

Pumpkins are the one vegetable I don’t need, since I have tons of them in storage. But perhaps I’ll find some other vegetables on another island one day soon.

That’s all for tonight, but keep an eye out for my next Wi-Fi Moments video, coming in the next day or two. You can always find my latest videos here.

Vines

Today, I was able to harvest my tomatoes and wheat. The wheat could then be crafted into flour, so my selection of ingredients is finally starting to grow. I whipped up a few dishes, including carrot potage, tomato curry, and tomato puree.

Look what I made... some tomato puree!

Julian the unicorn was camping at the campsite. I like him, but I wasn’t about to force anybody out for him.

Julian: Ha HA! Got you. I'm not THAT fancy-pantsy. My name actually is Julian, though.

Redd was in town, along with his ship. I purchased a scenic painting, and I’m pretty sure it’s the real deal. So I should be donating it to the museum after it arrives in the mail tomorrow.

Speaking of the museum, I headed there tonight to buy my first coffee to go! It cost 300 bells, which is more expensive than the regular coffee, but I think I can afford it. 😉

Brewster: If you're after a coffee to go, I'll fix you one up for 300 bells...

Out at Harvey’s island, I saw that Redd was not standing at his RV (since he’s in Forest, of course). I fully paid off Katrina’s stand, and I made sure to check in with Harvey and Kicks.

Harvey: Now, I've never been a cool cat--in fact, I'm a dog! But even ol' Harv can tell that Kicks's shoes are neato!

I took Kapp’n’s boat to a mysterious island, and I’ve finally landed on the very special vine island!

Vines and glowing moss on a vine island.

I swiped a bunch of vines, and some glowing moss too. On the beach, I found a special message bottle: It came on some really cool sunset (or is it sunrise?) stationery, and it gave me a recipe for a vine crown.

My dear anonymous reader, I can NOT stop thinking about this furniture I saw in a dream! So, I have turned it into a DIY recipe. I am compelled to share my recipe, so I have stuffed it in this bottle. May it inspire you to action. Faraway wishes, -Baabara
(Please stay far away, Baabara.)

I’ll need to decide which part(s) of town would look good with the glowing moss. The vines may look good up in Donkey Kong Country.

See you all next time!
