Today, I shot down a balloon present that contained some colorful juice. How in the world did this drink not spill either while floating through the air, or especially while being violently shot down out of the sky? 😛
All of my villagers were talking about how Toy Day went for them yesterday. They thanked me for the gifts I gave them and also for the gifts from Santa that I delivered.
When I went to speak to K.K. Slider at the plaza, three villagers were seated in the chairs there: Apple, Apollo, and Eloise. But Apollo and Eloise got up and left as I told K.K. to play a random song. K.K. started to sing K.K. Slack-Key (another oddly-named song), and Apple left just as the song was starting. I guess nobody likes me today.
Today is Christmas, and I received a Nintendo eShop card. So I used part of it and bought the DLC, Happy Home Paradise. After downloading it, I met Lottie at the airport. I flew out to her island, where I also met Niko and Wardell.
I put on my work uniform and got started! My first client is my former GameCube nemesis (and current Wild World snob) Olivia. She wanted her vacation home to be a portal to the “Land of Nod.” Whatever that means.
I’m guessing it means she wants a home devoted to sleeping? Well, that does make sense for a cat. Since I’ve spent over 120 hours with Happy Home Designer, I’m familiar with the general concept of designing homes for clients.
I gave Olivia a starry-sky wall, galaxy flooring, and an assortment of furniture that I thought looked decent. I’m certainly no designing expert, but Olivia seemed to enjoy what I gave her. Even if she’s contractually obligated to enjoy it regardless. 😂
My reward was 6,000 Poki…that’s a new currency that can be used to buy items for sale on Lottie’s island. I didn’t spend them yet, but I can see how the integration between the DLC and the main game can be beneficial. It’s always good to have a new selection of items to choose from!
I stopped for the day at this point. The DLC is cool, and there seems to be much to unlock on Lottie’s island. But designing houses isn’t something I enjoy doing for long stretches, so one house per day is probably going to be my limit. But check back in future entries for more about my house designs. I’m not going to have a separate blog for Happy Home Paradise.
I hope you’re all having a Merry Christmas! See you next time!
