Eloise’s Birthday

Before I get into what happened today, here’s a quick summary of yesterday’s events:

  • The beautiful statue from Redd was real, so I donated it to the museum.
  • Wisp gave me a patchwork chair.
  • I bought the motherly statue that I mentioned on Monday.
  • I paid Tom Nook to install a brick bridge.

Today, the brick bridge was complete, and I attended the opening ceremony.

Celebrating the opening of my new brick bridge.

It’s Eloise’s birthday, so I made sure to attend her party. Agent S was also there. I gave Eloise a baby bear that I bought at Nook’s Cranny, and she seemed quite happy. 🙂

Eloise: When everyone gathers to celebrate my birthday like this, it makes me the happiest elephant in the world!
Happy birthday, Eloise!

Nook Shopping had this truck for sale, so I ordered one. Yeah, 120,000 bells is expensive, but I have truckloads of money in this game. 😛

Truck: 120,000 bells.

It makes me think of a moving truck, so it might be a good thing to place near the home of an unwanted villager. Don’t get me wrong, I like all of my current villagers…but inevitably, that won’t always be the case.

The motherly statue from Redd was authentic, so that meant I had a new work of art to donate to the museum for a second day in a row!! And surprisingly, the entrance area of the art gallery is filling in quite nicely!

The entrance area to my art gallery is nearly complete!

I checked the rest of the art gallery, and it seems that I only need 12 more items now! Even though I’m sure it’ll still take at least several months to complete it, I feel like my goal is starting to be within reach! 🙂

In the Roost, I found Apollo enjoying some coffee. He said that Brewster has some special coffee that can be enjoyed at night without keeping you awake. It’s from a place called “Deek Aff.” 😛

Apollo: I think he said it comes from a place called Deek Aff. I don't know where that is, but they make great coffee!
If you don’t get it, he’s talking about decaf coffee. 😛

Jolly Redd’s ship was parked on the island’s north shore, but he didn’t have any additional art that I needed.

Just a very early heads-up for people on my Switch friend roster: I’m tentatively planning on opening my gate for the New Year’s Eve countdown (for the Eastern time zone). It’s obviously a few weeks away, but I’ll post more details once it gets closer.

Apollo Visits Twice

While I was in my house on Sunday, Apollo barged in. He apparently smelled my french fries. 🍟

Apollo: Gahaha! I KNEW I smelled some french fries!
The fries were behind me, so I don’t know what I was looking at!

Oddly enough, he decided to leave after just 40 seconds! But just half an hour later, I ran into Apollo again on Rainbow Road. He asked to visit my house! I wasn’t paying close attention to the dialogue, and I said yes. So he came over again…and this time, he stayed for 15 minutes! Ugh!

He even said my room is different than what he expected. I had put some pancakes on my table in between his visits, but otherwise, the room was the same. He did give me a jockey’s helmet, but I don’t care about that.

At my outdoor kitchen, I made some pumpkin soup…and perhaps the Halloween-y smell of the pumpkins brought out a ghost! Wisp came over and seemed to beg for some soup. 😛

Look what I made... some pumpkin soup!

I didn’t give him any soup, but I did gather up his spirits for him. In return, he gave me some office materials.

By the way, my storage has now been increased to hold 4,000 items. Even though there is one more upgrade (up to 5,000 items), it costs 1.2 million bells and I’m not in a hurry to purchase it.

Today (Monday), I found a lost item on the ground. Surprisingly, I was able to reunite with its owner Static in just 20 seconds or so! He rewarded me with some ski goggles, and I decided to put them on, since it was snowing in town.

Static: I believe THAT makes us square. Maybe you even owe ME one. It's some ski goggles!

I recently purchased a robot arm at Nook’s Cranny, for a whopping price of 130,000 bells. It has a surface where you can place a small item, and there’s a robotic arm that moves around. It reminds me of the “Screwbot Factory” mini-game from Rhythm Heaven Fever.

The Screwbot mini-game in Rhythm Heaven Fever.

I put a gyroid up on it. I’m not sure if this robotic arm is assembling the gyroid or about to torture it, but it’s pretty unique either way. 😛

A robot arm prepares to assemble a gyroid?
“Oh yeah!”

I later visited Static at his house, and he informed me that he was once a famous water skiing squirrel!

Static: Don't be! I'll have you know I was once the top squirrel in the world of competitive water skiing!

That’s pretty funny, because there actually is (or was, until recently) a famous water skiing squirrel that would appear at various boat shows. I just didn’t realize that Twiggy the water-skiing squirrel was really Static in disguise! 😉

At town hall, I paid 10,000 bells to demolish a bridge. I’d like to start replacing some of my basic log bridges with some nicer-looking bridges.

After I had some coffee at the Roost, Brewster gave me another item: a siphon.

Vendors on Harv’s Island had new inventory for the week, including Jolly Redd. I purchased a beautiful statue that I’m pretty sure is real. He also had a motherly statue that I felt good about, but I didn’t have any previous photos of one to compare it to. But I’ll probably be buying that later in the week too.

Odd Song Names

It was K.K. Slider night, and K.K. had another new song to play: K.K. Bashment. Hornsby, Static, Apple, and Agent S were also at the show.

K.K.: Right on. I'm tuned up and ready to roll. Who's in the mood for a little K.K. Bashment?

These new songs sure have some strange names! Bashment, Khoomei, and Chorinho were my last three.

Today’s mysterious island was a cherry blossom island. It’s a pretty place to be, but I didn’t think of it as being very useful.

Kapp'n: Yar, we've arrived!

That is, until I checked the message bottle there: It had a DIY recipe for a sakura-wood wall, which was actually one that I didn’t have yet! I also got a gold nugget from one of the rocks there, so the island was more helpful than I expected.

At Resident Services, I decided to pay for the next expansion of my storage (even though I still have a lot of space remaining). The price was a bit shocking, though: 900,000 bells. But I’m going to need it sooner or later, so I went ahead and paid it off.

Tom Nook: You can't use a loan for the fee, so you'll need to provide 900,000 bells up-front...

It just annoys me that we can’t pay for these upgrades directly out of our account. I had to clear out nine inventory spots for the bags of money I withdrew, before I could make the payment.

By the way, the arrival of December did not bring any new seasonal items. I was a bit surprised by that, but maybe we’ll get some later in the month.
