First Cat

On Sunday night, I decided to use three Nook Miles Tickets to look for a new villager. If I didn’t find anyone good after that, I would take my chances and wait for Monday. The three potential villagers I encountered were Tucker, Queenie, and Cole.

Tucker, Queenie, and Cole.

I chose not to adopt any of them.

Yesterday, I found a “Sold” sign on the empty plot; Punchy the lazy cat is moving in.

This spot reserved for Punchy's new home. -Nook Inc.

I know he seems to be fairly popular, but he was never one of my favorites. He’s not bad, though. For a random move-in, I certainly could have done much worse.

Today, I went over to meet my new neighbor. Punchy told me he’s from Solstice, which is Timo’s town. Welcome to Forest! 🙂

Punchy: Hi there! I'm Punchy! I'm from Solstice!

Believe it or not, Punchy is the first cat villager I’ve had in Forest! Well at least the first house cat; I have had a couple of tigers.

As I ran by Rio and headed into the shop, she called out to me. But it was too late, I had already started the door-opening animation.

Rio: Jeff! Over here!

She was gone when I came back out, so I’ll never know what she wanted. 😛

Sasha told me the story of Cinderella, but he said the prince figured out who the slipper belonged to, because it smelled like Cinderella’s feet! I certainly didn’t remember that part of the story. 😆

Sasha, Oh yeah, it was her slipper! And the prince figured out who she was because it smelled like her feet!

Then Sasha revealed that the prince was a dog, and that’s how he tracked down her scent. 😛

Sasha: Oh! The prince was a dog! Did I say that? It's why the smell part was important.

Are you sure this is the story of Cinderella? Or is it Cindersmella?

Plucky was camping at the campsite…but I didn’t have a taste for chicken today. 😛

Plucky, at the campsite: Oh! Hope I'm not interrupting you or nothin'.

Just a note for people on my friend roster: I am planning on hosting Friday Night Forest this week! I should be opening at 10 p.m. Eastern time. (If plans should happen to change, I’ll edit this blog entry to say so.)

Losing the Beard

On Thursday, Ketchup was “dance crafting” to personify a stethoscope. Except her “dance” consisted of her standing completely still. Such skill.

Ketchup: I am a stethoscope. I am a stethoscope. ...
She’s a Ketchoscope.

Yesterday, I found Beardo with a thought bubble above his head. I spoke with him, and he wanted to leave Forest to pursue a new business idea. Awesome! Get outta here!

Beardo: You never know where you'll find your next great business idea!

Today, he was all packed up and ready to move out! Finally!!

Beardo: Hey, this might be kind of awkward, but I wanted to say thanks for the advice you gave me.

Fortunately, I got rid of him before he gave me his photo. I didn’t want to have to display that in my house anyway. 😛

K.K. Slider was in town tonight, and I told him I was feeling a bit grumpy (despite Beardo’s exit). So he performed K.K. Bazaar for me, Ketchup, and Agent S.

K.K. Slider performs at the plaza in ACNH.

I’ll have a vacancy in town tomorrow, but I’m not sure if I’ll go villager hunting. If I do, it probably won’t be more than a few attempts. But check back in a few days to see who moves in next!

Rare Mushroom

On Sunday night, I found Wisp on another small cliff structure; it’s even tinier than the last one! I swear, he must seek out the smallest cliffs he can find. 😛

Wisp stands on a tiny cliff, ejecting his spirits.

When I recovered those spirits for him, he rewarded me with a wall-mounted LED display.

Monday was Halloween, and I grabbed some candy out of storage. After trick-or-treating for a few more pieces, I found Jack.

Jack: Hee hee! What an agreeable little minion!

I traded him some candy for Jack’s face and Jack’s robe, but he really wanted a lollipop.

Moments later, I ran into Ketchup. And she looked so adorable in her Halloween costume!

Ketchup: Trick or treeeeat!

After giving her some candy, she gave me my first lollipop. I took it back to Jack, and he wolfed it down before giving me a spooky carriage.

Jack: HAAAAAPPPPYYYYYY! HALLOWEEEEEEEN!

But right as I was talking to him, the event ended for the night. No more lollipops for Jack.

Today, Mom sent me an autumn-themed letter talking about baked goods. She included “Mom’s lively kitchen mat” as an attached gift.

My dear Jeff, Something about seeing piles of colorful leaves everywhere puts me in the mood to bake. Pies! Cakes! Muffins! Biscuits! I can't fight this. I won't. I think I need a bigger fridge. -Mom
I was expecting something edible after this letter.

Now that November is here, we can find mushrooms around town. That includes the rare mushroom, which I dug up today and then sold for 16,000 bells at Nook’s Cranny.

Timmy: A rare mushroom! Sure! How about if I offer you 16,000 bells?

See you all next time.
