December FNF

Yesterday, Gulliver sent me a candy-skull mask as my latest reward.

Tonight, I opened my gate at 10:00 for Friday Night Forest. Beth, Logan, Sam, Nami, Jac, Wiicked, and Bran came over–that’s a full house! I guess that’s what happens when I actually remind people about FNF on Twitter. 😛 The elves headed over to my new holiday area, where they could vault “into” a waiting sleigh. 😉

Watching elves vault into the sleigh.

Meanwhile, Logan and Nami were horrified by my “puppy pod” that I mentioned last time. Nami even set up my execution! Do I really deserve to be executed when the puppy itself is still alive??

Nami: The execution.

After a bit, we took a group photo with Santa.

We then headed to the other side of town for a bunch of vaulting races.

A vaulting race with elves.

There was some confusion because some people thought you had to sit down at the end before raising the flag, but you don’t.

After we were done, we visited my newest neighbor, Punchy. He was surprised to have so many people in his house, but we were surprised to see he was dressed as an elf, just like most of us!

Punchy: Oh wow, I dunno if I've ever had this many folks in my house at once.

Jolly Redd was in town, and somehow we ended up near his ship. We almost formed the shape of a Christmas tree, although I don’t think it was intentional.

Sitting on the ramp to Redd's ship.

We later glitched into tubs, put green warts on an ocean sunfish, and worshiped at a pitfall shrine. 😛 Around 11:30, Jac and Wiicked left.

The rest of us had a ten-minute diving competition. I caught an abalone that somehow split into two! After bringing it up, the shadow was still underwater…and I caught it again! I’ve seen two people catch the same sea creature before, but I never caught the same thing twice like this. 😛

I ended up with 20 catches, which was good for 2nd place. Nami won the competition with a whopping 23 catches! Congrats, Nami!

After that, MaryAnn (aka Yann) came over to visit! Wiicked also returned, so we were back at full capacity again. I showed Yann my holiday area, and I took some photos.

Beth, MaryAnn, and an ocean sunfish.

Logan (who had been dressed as Santa for much of the night) dug holes underneath us. Fortunately, Nami came to our rescue. 😛

Jeff: BAD SANTA!

Yann also got to test out the vaulting pole course, which she enjoyed. Around 12:20, Nami and Logan left. Most of us remaining changed into Mario outfits. We visited Static, and I showed Yann the tub glitching. She was glad to see glitching still works; we always enjoyed glitching in the older games. 🙂

Around 12:35, I ended the session for the night. Thanks to all who came, it was fun! 🙂

I do want to give a shout-out to Xavier, who tried to join in tonight, but couldn’t get in. Sorry it didn’t work out this time! 🙁

Puppy Pod, Tuesday Cake

On Sunday, Boyd the gorilla was camping at the campsite. There’s approximately a 0% chance that I’d ever willingly let him move into town. 😛

Boyd, at the campsite: Howdy! I'm just stakin' a claim for a bit, enjoyin' the campin' life. Be seein' you around, uh-oh!

On Monday, I bought a puppy plushie to put in my science pod. Don’t worry, the puppy won’t drown. 😉 Just think of it as an inverted dogwood tree: The bark is on the inside. 😉

A puppy plushie inside of a science pod.

Yesterday, I bought an RC helicopter at Nook’s Cranny with the same idea in mind. I thought it would be funny if the helicopter could fly up through the top of the pod! But unfortunately, it wouldn’t even let me put the helicopter inside the pod.

I’ve been having snow flurries in Forest lately, which is certainly pretty and festive…

Punchy: Snow is so neat! It's the only time all year that ya can eat rain!

But sadly, the moisture creates dozens of new flower buds that I’m having to clean up every day…and that’s really annoying.

Today, I found a lost item (a book) on the ground, and I returned it to Punchy. He rewarded me with a ninja costume.

Punchy: Hey! It's my picture book! I couldn't find it anywhere!

Gulliver was in town, and I dug up the five pieces of his communicator for him. He will be sending me a reward in the mail.

I went diving in the ocean later, and I found a scallop. Of course, Pascal popped up to ask for it, and I handed it over. He gave me a pearl, and also a funny comment about “Tuesday cake,” which he’d like to enjoy once (or twice!) a week. 😆

Pascal: I love birthday cake, but why stop there? Some Tuesday cake would hit the spot once or twice a week.

Even though I won’t be decorating my entire town for the holidays, I am working on decorating at least one small area. It’s just south of the castle, where my Wordle lights were.

Just to confirm, I do indeed plan on having Friday Night Forest this week (Friday at 10 p.m. Eastern time for people on my roster). If you plan on coming, please consider having my Elf outfit (and hat) available with you. The design codes are MO-5T5N-X2CX-LDPQ and MO-2TK6-2X69-44CH. You don’t have to wear it the entire time, but I would like to take some photos as elves at some point. 🙂

I posted a new video today, compiling some of my best and most memorable moments with sports balls (on GameCube) and snowballs (throughout the series). Even though most of the clips are from GameCube and City Folk, there are a few New Horizons clips as well. Check it out if you’re interested.

DIY Furniture Goal Met

Yesterday, Gullivarrr sent me my latest reward in the mail: a pirate rug. Mom also sent a letter, about snow and winter. She sent me a Mom’s hand-knit sweater.

Today, I surprisingly learned two new recipes: a mushroom potage (from Sasha, who was cooking in his house), and a skateboard wall rack (from a message bottle).

SWEET! I learned a DIY recipe for a skateboard wall rack!

Label was in town, and she wanted to see me in something outdoorsy. She gave me a tweed vest to use as an example, but I ignored that suggestion. Instead, I put on a down jacket, some outdoor shorts, a bicycle helmet, cyber shades, and some high-tops. She loved the outfit!

Label: I am sooo impressed. Thank you for putting it together for me!

She gave me a Labelle hat. As for the outfit, I kept some of those items on…but I promptly changed out of the shorts. It’s far too cold for them!

I found a lost item (a bag) on the ground, and Punchy told me that it belonged to Marina. The problem was that I couldn’t find Marina anywhere! She wasn’t home, she wasn’t anywhere in town, and I wasted five full minutes searching the entire museum without any success. But I eventually found her hanging out in Hornsby’s house.

Marina, standing behind Hornsby's big head: Oh! This is my bag. I thought I'd never get this back again!

I gave her the bag, and she rewarded me with a safety helmet. I’m not sure that a hat justified all that work, but oh well. 😛

I was about to wrap up my night in the game, when I thought to check my Nook Miles progress. When I saw that I only needed to craft two more furniture items to complete the DIY Furniture goal, I grabbed some flowers and crafted two hyacinth lamps. I earned 3,000 Nook Miles for completing all DIY Furniture goals.

DIY Furniture Nook Miles: All goals met.

Only four more goals remain: DIY Tools, Deep Dive, Cornering the Stalk Market, and Popular Pen Pal. My next one is certainly going to be Deep Dive, because I only need to catch 87 more sea creatures. The other goals are probably going to take me a very long time.

If you haven’t seen my latest ACNH video , it’s a silly one. I perform most of the reactions in the game, while standing in an outdoor bath… Well, a picture says 1,000 words. 😛 I hope it brings you a laugh or two. 🙂

Enjoy your weekend, and I’ll see you next time! 🙂
