Zelda Obstacle Course

I recently finished up my new obstacle course, and it’s based on The Legend of Zelda series. It has references to several games throughout the series, from the NES game through Breath of the Wild.

The start of my Zelda obstacle course.

Yesterday, Anthony and Jen came over to try it out. Some of you may remember that I made a Dream Suite Adventure of Jen’s New Leaf town Pink Sea several years back.

I neglected to tell them they’d need a vaulting pole during the race, so they both kinda stopped at Lake Hylia and seemed unsure of how to progress. I should’ve mentioned that ahead of time, oops. 😛 Anthony won the first race, but made a mistake on the 2nd run: Instead of offering the apple to the statue, he accidentally ate it! 😆 So Jen pulled ahead and won that round. But we did one final round as a tie-breaker, and Anthony won. Thank you both for helping out, Anthony and Jen! 🙂

Here is a video of the course, showing my walkthrough/explanation and then two races:

Today, Gullivarrr was in town, and I went diving to recover his communicator.

At 10:00 tonight, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. This was my first FNF since June. Sacky and Bran were the first to arrive. After we bought candy and played ocarinas in the pumpkin area for a bit, we headed over to the obstacle course. Sacky wasn’t interested in playing, so I offered to race against Bran. I won, even though Bran was going in blind, so I had an unfair advantage. 😛

Bran and Logan reach the pipe at the end of the obstacle course.

Logan then arrived, and he raced against Bran in the closest race I’ve seen yet. They arrived at the end pipe simultaneously. Logan won, but just barely. 😛

We headed over to my older, smaller obstacle course, and Logan again narrowly beat Bran. We eventually made our way over to the hot tub, where I stuck my feet through the seemingly solid outer wall. 😛

After we were cooked thoroughly, we headed over to my house and jumped around a bit.

We discussed Halloween in Animal Crossing, and when the next Animal Crossing game might come out. We figured that Switch 2 may come out in 2024, but we’re hoping to get the next Animal Crossing by 2025. I’d love for it to come out in 2024 with Switch 2, but I really doubt it. Animal Crossing has never been a launch game.

Around 11:20, Sacky left quietly. Logan was getting tired, as was I, so I decided to end the session a bit earlier than usual. But thanks to everyone who came! I had a good time. 🙂

Thick Fog

I found Bob in the Roost Saturday night, and he gave me some unusual advice about not using hot coffee to heat up creamed spinach. 🤢

Bob: I know what you're thinking, and it's a bad idea. Do NOT use hot coffee to heat up creamed spinach for dinner.

I don’t think anyone would ever think to do that, Bob. That’s not something you need to worry about.

K.K. Slider was in town, and he performed “Pondering” for me. No other villagers came to the show, and I was pondering why. 😛

On Monday morning, I saw what had to be the heaviest fog I’ve seen in the game to date. Of course, I don’t often play in the morning, so I probably miss out on a lot of it. But still, it was pretty cool to see!

Later that night, Rio pinged me as I was in mid-air, entering a warp pipe! 😆

Rio: Hey! It's Jeff!

I immediately returned, and she still had the ping active. She wanted to buy my cat tower for 975 bells, and I agreed to the exchange.

As I’ve mentioned before, my villagers have continued to comment on the spooky decorations I’ve put up in town. Today, Midge suggested I even have pumpkins in the sky! That part is a bit of an exaggeration, though. (Maybe I would, if I could!)

Midge: Pumpkins to the left, and pumpkins to the right, and pumpkins all over, in the sky.

Rio was sick with a cold today, so I crafted some medicine for her. Once I gave it to her, she thanked me by giving me a delivery jacket.

I have a couple of announcements. First of all, I am planning on inviting a couple people over to test out my latest obstacle course either tomorrow or Friday, in the late afternoon/early evening. I will reach out on Twitter when I’m ready to see who’s available at that time. (You may or may not be in an upcoming video if you come. No promises.)

And to re-confirm, I am still planning on having Friday Night Forest at 10 p.m. Eastern time (on Friday, obviously). Anyone on my roster is free to come. We can do some obstacle course races then too. Feel free to come in Halloween costumes, even though the obstacle course itself is not Halloween themed.

See you next time!

Decorating for Halloween

I recently finished up my Halloween area for this year. I made a jack-o’-lantern made out of orange flowers, with some other spooky furniture around the area.

My Halloween area for 2023.

Last night, Wisp was in town and I recovered his spirits for him. In return, he gave me a conveyor belt.

Many of my villagers have been commenting on the abundance of Halloween decorations in town. Even if they’ve been limited to just one area. Static still wondered if I’m going overboard with it.

Static: I'm startin' to wonder if this place is going a bit overboard with all the pumpkin decorations, so I bolted.
No.

Today, Pekoe the bear cub was hanging out at the campsite. She’s cute, but I didn’t ask her to move in.

Pekoe: Where are my manners? Sorry--my name's Pekoe.

Ketchup was talking about how much she enjoys having pets, and how special they make her feel. Aww, how cute. 🙂

Ketchup: You know what helps? Pets! I love pets. They have a way of making you feel like the specialest person ever.

Label was in town, and she wanted to see me in a goth outfit…one that I might wear on Halloween. She’s got some good timing. 🎃 She gave me a vampire outfit to use as an example, but I decided to remove all my skin and just go as a skeleton. 😛

Label judges my skeleton.

I wasn’t sure what footwear to use, but I tried the antique boots, and they worked fine. Label loved the outfit, and she gave me a Labelle cap.

I posted my latest New Horizons Moments video today, and it shows highlights from the past two months or so. It also takes a closer look at my Halloween decorations (and how it shows up on the map). I hope you’ll check it out. 🙂

Have a great weekend, and I’ll see you all again soon!
