Plantina

Last Sunday, Ankha told me she likes watering plants as part of her daily routine. She even likes to give the plants names…like Plantina!

Ankha: Maybe it's my maternal instinct? I even give them secret little names. Plantina is my favorite.

That reminded me of something from earlier in the series… And if you’ve played much of Animal Crossing: Wild World, you probably know what I’m talking about: Moppina! It’s the name that normal villagers will occasionally give to their mop, who is also their best friend. 😆

Two days later, I had another interesting chat with Ankha…in almost the same spot. She told me that my clothes a bit low-key! I found that hard to believe, considering I was wearing a gold suit of armor!

Ankha: Your gold armor is fabulous, but isn't it a tad low-key for you?

She tried to help out by giving me a cavalier hat. It has a feather sticking out of it, but that’s actually two fewer than my suit of armor. 😆

My old New Leaf neighbor Kidd was hanging out at the campsite for the 2nd time. He said 100% of “Kidds” would rate the campground highly. 😛

Kidd, at the campsite: So far, I like what I'm seeing. 100 percent of Kidds would rate this campground highly.

Last night, Bob and Bones were enjoying some drinks at the plaza. Louie was also there, but he was hard at work exercising. It was quite a contrast from the lazy bros. 😛

Bob and Bones enjoy a drink, while Louie is hard at work.

Over at the campsite, I had another repeat camper. This time, it was Phoebe the red ostrich. She looks like she could be Rio’s sister!

Phoebe, at the campsite: Hey, thanks for stoppin' by. So...is everyone here, like, SUPER friendly?

As of today, maple leaves are now falling from the sky. And of course, you can catch them (well, some of them) and use them as a crafting material.

This maple leaf is such a pretty red. It's like the exact color of fall!

At the museum, I scared Blathers by sneaking up behind him in a suit of armor. Okay, not really…I just woke him up and wanted an excuse to show this screenshot. 😆

Blathers: Hooooo... WHO?!

Here are a few other quick notes about the past week:

  • On Monday, I returned a lost book to Louie. He rewarded me with a mesh cap.
  • I helped Gullivarrr yesterday, and he sent me a pirate outfit today.
  • K.K. Slider performed “My Place” for me tonight. Sadly, no other villagers joined me for the show.

Never Stop Crossing!

Gothic Flimflammery

Pascal popped up while I was diving on Sunday, and he lectured me about gravity…and apples. (He also gave me a pearl in exchange for my scallop.)

Pascal: they say the apple didn't fall far from the tree, but where else was it gonna fall? Gravity calls the shots, maaan.
That’s a real down-to-earth view of the situation.

Wisp was hanging out later, and I found all of his spirits and returned them to him. He thanked me by giving me a meeting-room table.

Wisp: Here, have... a meeting-room table!

Maybe we can sit around it with his recovered ghosts, and have some nice spirited discussions.

On Monday, Static questioned why I was wearing my suit of armor. He thought I was just trying to scare him.

Static: Level with me, kiddo. You're only in that getup 'cause you're tryin' to scare me, right?

I’m not trying to scare you, dude. The armor is for protection while I work the knight shift. He angrily told me to stop it, saying he wouldn’t be scared by my gothic flimflammery!

Static: Well, quit it! I ain't gonna be scared by your gothic flimflammery. Not now, not ever, zap nuts!

Actually, “zap nuts” are one hazard the suit insulates me from. No more shocking surprises down there. 😛

I visited Merengue today, and Static was also there. Merengue told me to come in and join Static…on a cake. So now I’m getting serial killer vibes from her, and I’m picturing me and Static on a cake in the oven, being baked alive, as Merengue laughs maniacally. 😛

Merengue: Skippy, come in and join Static, on a cake!

At the campsite, I had a super good camper today: Kid Cat!

Kid Cat: Yo! How's it going? They call me Mega-Arm Kid Cat.

I’m generally reluctant to kick anyone out, but I wanted to at least see who he would replace if I did ask him to move in. Turns out, I’d have to give up Static. And I’m definitely not going to do that.

Kid Cat: Alright! The heat is on! Let me pitch an idea... Whaddays think of trading Static away for me?

I like Kid Cat a lot, but not more than Static. Sorry, Kid Cat. Maybe we’ll meet again someday.

Here are a few other quick notes about this week:

  • On Sunday, I played a treasure hunt game with Agent S; I won a checkered sweater vest.
  • Tuesday, I sold 21 bugs to Flick for 102,000 bells.
  • Jolly Redd was in town today, and I bought a red cruiser bike from him.
  • I returned lost bag to Rio, and she gave me athletic outfit.

Yesterday, I posted my latest video, New Horizons Moments #29. Here it is if you haven’t seen it yet:

I’ll see you next time. Never Stop Crossing!

Into November

On Monday, June was talking about how she takes good care of her hair. She used her catchphrase in a way that made perfect, logical sense.

June: Then again, I do think of hair care as more science than simply style, in my hair!

Yesterday was Halloween, and I decided to participate this year (at least for a little bit). I put on a knight costume, and indoor villagers would give me additional candy.

Ketchup: Happy Halloweeeen! Time to get back to scaring--and GETTING scared! Anything can happen!

Outdoor villagers however, would demand candy from me. But having a villager like June threaten me with a trick was more adorable than scary. 😆

June: Trick or treat! Could I have some candy, please? If not, I'll play a trick on you, in my hair.

She gave me a spooky table setting in return for the candy. But the villagers will occasionally give you a lollipop instead of spooky furniture (or pumpkins).

Bones: Are you ready for something in return? It's...a lollipop! I guess you suckered me into giving you one!
And yes, I changed into a gold suit of armor. It’s not just rusted or anything. 😛

Eventually, I found Jack (the czar of Halloween) near the plaza. I gave him some candy, and he rewarded me with…his face. 🎃

Jack: Feast your eyes on the king-size prize! I bestow upon you Jack's face!
His face really lights up the room. Face it: He’s gourd-geous!

When I gave him a lollipop, he gave me a spooky carriage. That’s a wheely nice reward!

Rio later gave me another lollipop, which I also gave to Jack. This time, he gave me a spooky wand…which is definitely less exciting than a carriage. I wrapped up my game for the night after that.

Tonight, it was raining in town, and Static seemed a bit agitated. That cranky old squirrel. 😆

Static: I coulda told you it was gonna rain.

Now that November is here, mushrooms can now be found around town. That includes rare mushrooms (worth 16,000 bells apiece), which can appear buried underground. I actually found two of them in town tonight!

Look! I dug up a rare mushroom!

Renee the rhino was camping at the campsite tonight. But I already have one rhino (one who is much sweeter), and I’m not looking for another.

Renee: But here's a question... Is it always this awesome here? That's what I wanna know, yo yo yo!
No, no, no.
Now go, go, go.

I hit a new milestone at some point earlier this week, even though I didn’t notice it at the time. I’ve now saved up four million Nook Miles, and this is my current total:

4,016,200 Nook Miles

Here are a few other quick notes about the past week:

  • On Sunday, June was sick with a cold. I gave her some medicine, and she rewarded me with a basic school desk.
  • I helped Wisp, and he gave me a hanging cube light.
  • On Tuesday, I helped out Gulliver. He sent me another veil the next day. As for why he sends such awful rewards, I guess that’s veiled in mystery.
  • Yesterday, a message bottle gave me a new DIY recipe, for a cute lily crown.

Have a great weekend, and Never Stop Crossing!
