Mini Dharma

Last Sunday, I again paid Katrina to tell my fortune. She said she saw young twins standing at their shop door, confused because they forgot to order new goods to put out for the day.

Katrina: I see...young twins arriving at their shop in the morning. They stand at the door, befuddled and bewildered...

She said that my luck with belongings will diminish…unless I pay her for purification, of course. I handed over the 1,000 bells to get another one of her lucky items. The next day (Monday), she sent me…a mini dharma! I was relieved that it wasn’t a another gold turtle!

The mini dharma that Katrina sent me.

I now have two of Katrina’s four lucky items.

After shooting down a balloon present later, I was quite surprised to find a new crafting recipe I didn’t have yet! It was for a cherry-blossom rug!

SWEET! I learned a DIY recipe for a cherry-blossom rug!

Of course, the cherry-blossom items are only available for a short time of the year, so that explains how it slipped through the cracks. But still, this is my 6th April playing the game, so you’d think I would’ve got them all by now! 🌸

On Tuesday, I found a lost item (a bag) on the ground. Without even investigating, I just asked the first villager I saw about it. That was Bones, and it was his shopping bag! He rewarded me with a long-underwear set.

Bones: Ya like it?! It's a long-underwear set!

Today, C.J. hosted the April fishing tournament. I decided to give it a go, and C.J. gave me three minutes to catch as many fish as I could. During the run though, I noticed that Static, Merengue, and Bob were all bunched up together, fishing from the same spot! That’s probably not the best strategy! 😆

Static, Merengue, and Bob all try to fish from the same spot.

After my timer ran out, I chatted with the three of them. Merengue said she hadn’t even started fishing yet (oh really?), and Bob was looking forward to fishing on Switch 2. Me too, bud.

Bob: Fishing is just about the most chill thing you can do outdoors. So let's fish, on Switch 2!

I returned to C.J. to wrap up my lone entry into the tournament. I caught six fish, so I earned a total of eight points. I sold my six fish for about 3,000 bells, and C.J. informed me that I had 22 points saved up in my pool. I must not have redeemed any points last time I participated.

C.J.: Hmm... You've got 22 points in your poo
Does this mean my performance stinks?

I spent 20 of those points for two items: A marine pop wall and a fresh cooler. Coo. 😎

Because of the tournament, there is no K.K. Slider concert tonight.

I posted my latest New Horizons video this week, so I hope you’ll give it a watch:

Fair warning: I believe Zipper will be showing up tomorrow for his pre-Bunny Day visit, so be warned. 😆 I’m working on a Bunny Day guide that I’ll be posting within the next couple days. And I’ll be back with another entry next week. Hope to see you then!

On Wednesday, Curlos the sheep was camping at the the campsite for the third time. He should get the message that I don’t want him by now. 😛

Curlos: You know what the best part of camping is? Looking up at the night sky.

Right outside the tent, Rio asked me for a stinkbug. It only took me a couple minutes to track one down, and I took it back to Rio.

Rio: Yay! You found me a stinkbug! That's totally fab!
I love screenshots from here when there’s a tent in town.

She loved it, and she rewarded me with an athletic outfit.

And since it’s April now, it’s cherry blossom season! You can catch the petals with a net, and you can also enjoy the beauty of the pink trees around town. So pretty! 🌸

K.K. Slider was in town tonight, and I asked him for a random song. He performed “Only Me” for me and Bob.

K.K.: Right on. I'm tuned up and ready to roll. Who's in the mood for a little Only Me?

Over by Rainbow Road, June asked me for a book recommendation. I suggested that she should read The Animalese Brain.

June: I know! I'm going to list some titles... You pick the one that I'll read next! >The Animalese Brain.

Out on Harv’s island, I paid Katrina to tell me my fortune. But Harvey was standing right there snooping! Can’t I get a little privacy? Why doesn’t Katrina have a tent any more?

Harvey snoops in as Katrina tells my fortune.

At any rate, Katrina said my luck with friendship will improve. So I didn’t need a purification this time.

Here are a few other quick notes about this week:

  • On Monday, I helped out Gullivarrr. He sent me another pirate bandanna in the mail.
  • Wednesday, Static was sick with a cold. I gave him some medicine, and he handed me an apron in return.
  • I sold six bugs to Flick for exactly 27,000 bells.

See you next time!
