A Passing Vacation

Yesterday, I received my Luigi outfit in the mail, so I decided to wear it for a day.

Olivia was camping at the campsite, and she looks a lot better in New Horizons than she did in the older games.

Luigi (Jeff) visits Olivia at the Forest campsite.

But still, she was one of my enemies in the early days of my GameCube town and I’m still holding a bit of a grudge. πŸ˜› So I didn’t invite her to town, although I will admit she’s much better than her one-time GameCube Forest counterpart Monique.

When I visited Midge, she said she should have made some French toast in advance. But she didn’t capitalize the “F” in French!

Midge: I wish I had some treats to offer you. I probably should have made french toast in advance...

I ran into Tia outside, and she complimented my use of makeup? What makeup? Is she mistaking the Luigi ‘stache for makeup? Or my dyed green hair? Neither of those qualifies as makeup, so I’m a shade confused. πŸ˜›

Tia: I think the way you're using that makeup might just start a neat trend, burrito.

Today, Able Sisters had the shamrock outfit for sale: hat, shoes, and suit. I like the look of it, and I bought the full outfit…even though I decided to leave it in storage for now. This is Mohawk McClover season for me. Sorry, leprechauns.

The shamrock suit (and full outfit) in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Shamrock items are also available through Nook Shopping now too, although again, only one is available each day.

Agent S was sick with a cold, so I bought some medicine for her at the store. Once she took a dose, she started to feel better. She thanked me by giving me a rainbow sweater.

Nearby, I wanted to place a shell fountain near a bend in the river. But because it’s 1.5 spaces wide, I could not center it where I wanted it. It didn’t look right, no matter what I tried. So I just put in some small cliffs and waterfalls instead.

New cliffs and waterfalls.

I’m not totally happy with it, so I may change it again soon. But I’ll leave it up for the moment.

Label was the plaza for the umpteenth time, still wanting to see me in a “vacation” outfit. She gave me a top coat, and I paired it with a skateboarding helmet, soccer shorts, and moccasin boots. To my surprise, she loved the look! Yes, this look! πŸ˜‚

Finally! I’ve been trying so many different combinations lately (most of them I didn’t even mention in the blog) and nothing has worked. So it’s a big relief to finally get this done! My pockets were full, so she said she’ll mail my reward to me.

It’s clear that my obstacle course is not going to be done this week…so again, there will be no Friday Night Forest this week. Sorry, but these things always take longer than I hope. Depending on when I finish it, I might open one day next week just for the race.

And then I do plan on opening next Saturday night (March 20th) for the game’s one-year anniversary. The time is to be announced. Check the blog next week for more info.

  1. Jeff, I hope you read this. If you’re showing your Dodo Code somewhere, can I come to your one-year anniversary party next Saturday? If I’m free, that is?

    1. The anniversary party will be for people on my friend roster. Unless the turnout is real low…then I might open with Dodo codes, but don’t count on that.

        1. And if I’m unable to make it, I’ll host my own one-year anniversary party as a backup plan. πŸ™‚

  2. Do you mean combinations for labels outfits? If so apparently every item has a certain theme it goes with, if I remember correctly stuff like the dreamy dress and strawberry hat are in the fairytale category, meaning if you used those items when label asked you for a fairytale look, you would get good score which means 1 item from the labelle line and 1 tailor ticket (if you are wearing 0 or 1 item that matches the theme you only get 1 ticket, if you were 3 or more that match the theme you’ll get a item from the labelle series + 2 tickets.) There are 11 themes in the game, comfy everyday fairytale formal goth outdoorsy party sporty theatrical vacation and work. Sorry this is really long or I misunderstood what you said in the blog. Also you may know some of these things if not all.

    1. Yeah, I meant combinations of clothing items. I didn’t really know which clothes would be “vacationy,” other than the tops she gave me to fit the theme. That was the hardest theme for me to figure out, by far.
