I received the solemn painting in the mail from Jolly Redd today. As I expected, the painting was the real deal. I donated it to the museum, and I was surprised by how big it is! Especially when compared to the paintings next to it.
I found Wisp in town, up on the Rainbow Road part of my Mario obstacle course. That’s not the first time I’ve found him up there. I caught (and returned) his five spirits, and he rewarded me with some pink-paint flooring.
Tia was considering moving out of town, but I asked her to stay. At this point, I think Midge may be the only one I’d let leave…although Apple might be next on that list (even though I like them both!).
At about 10:05 (sorry I was a bit late), I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. Sacky and Bran came over. I showed them my new race, Hit the Hay. It’s an obstacle course made primarily of hay beds. You have to roll across the beds, cross the tire toy, roll across more beds, turn on your tiki torch, and then race back to the starting point. Sacky didn’t want to participate, so I raced against Bran (and I won).
Alex from Pawnee and William also came over, so they raced against each other. William won a close race. I then raced Bran again (and I won again). The races went well…but maybe a bit too well. I was hoping for some noticeable lag, like you sometimes see indoors when someone rolls across a bed, but it all went smoothly.
I won’t be posting a separate video about this race, but I will include one round of it in the next Wi-Fi Moments video.
Anyway, all four of my visitors were up on the observation deck (where you can get a good view of the hay bed races). And I learned that if I dig holes around the cliff, they can’t get down! (A fence blocks them from entering into the race area itself.)
We then did a couple of Mario races, with Alex beating William and me beating Bran. We ran around for a bit, and Bran left around 11:00.
Alex was rolling on Eloise’s bed, and he rolled through the wall. Now that is the type of lag I wanted to see during my races. π
Saharah was in town, and some of my visitors bought some items from her. We discussed her annoying dialogue system: You can’t see what you’re buying, and it’s time-consuming to buy everything. I’d love if she had a “buy everything” option.
But I also learned something from Alex that I never realized: The bonus item you get with her rug tickets is different from the normal “mysterious” wallpaper/carpeting! I always assumed it was the same one, so I never bought the mysterious wallpaper if I got the bonus wallpaper. Oops!
We then had a diving competition, and I was surprised to see that it went the full ten minutes without anyone arriving, leaving, or disconnecting! I actually won, with 24 catches. Alex was 2nd with 20, and William had 17. Sacky did not participate…just like every other event tonight. π
Over at the campsite, Alex gave my ocean sunfish a GameCube tutu.
At about 11:40, Xavier came over. Alex disconnected briefly, and then returned. Xavier and Alex raced on the “Hit the Hay” game, and Xavier won.
After that, we hung out at my house until about 12:30. That’s when I ended the session for the night. Thanks to all who came! It was fun! π
I’m not sure how long I’ll keep my “Hit the Hay” race up, but probably long enough for at least a couple more FNFs. But the Mario race is probably only staying up for one more FNF. I’m not sure when that next FNF will be though, but it’s probably not going to be next week.
Have a good weekend!
Guess what, Jeff? Todayβs my birthday!
Happy birthday! πππ Have a great day! π
It’s said that they’re still up on that cliff to this day π
