The Nooklings’ shop has upgraded and reopened today! It went from being called Nook’s Cranny to… well… it’s still Nook’s Cranny.
Why isn’t it Nook ‘n’ Go now?? It doesn’t even have the longer hours of Nook ‘n’ Go; it’s still only open until 10 p.m. π It is bigger, though. The Nooklings now sell three larger furniture items, which sit back on a stage, basically. Two smaller items are up front. It seems like a lot of wasted space on the left side of the store.
In the cabinet, I saw that the Nooklings now sell timers. I bought one for potential online use; fish and bug-catching competitions are something we haven’t really done yet.
At the museum, the art exhibit has opened up! It’s big and empty, except for my serene painting. π
Up at Able Sisters, Sable gave me more patterned fabric to use on customized furniture. But I didn’t have any customizable furniture in my pockets, so I didn’t get to see the new patterns yet.
To my surprise, Redd was up on the mountain today! He invited me into his ship (help!) to take a look at some other items he had for sale. He had three paintings and one statue for sale, but he only allows me to buy one.
He also had a couple of furniture items for sale, but I was there for the art. I pretty much ruled out the scary painting being real, because it had a goofy-looking face. But of the others, I had no idea. I ended up buying the flowery painting, but I won’t know if it’s real or not until I get it in the mail tomorrow.
I found a lost item (a book) on the cliff, and Midge said it might belong to Shari. Sure enough, it was Shari’s book. She gave me a worker’s jacket to thank me for returning it.
When I visited Agent S, she was talking about some of my visitors from last night. She knew that they were jumping around with the vaulting pole! These villagers know too much! π
K.K. was playing outside of town hall, so I asked him for a sad song. He played K.K. Western for me and Louie. However, halfway through the performance, Shari snuck up behind K.K. to watch too.
I was relieved to see that the empty plot was still available. So I decided to purchase a Nook Miles Ticket and take a trip to a mystery island. Bea the dog was there.
I like Bea, but I didn’t invite her to move in. At least I didn’t pitfall her! π
When I returned to Forest, I started tearing down the finish line structure of my obstacle course. I’m going to rebuild it as far south as I can, and put a few new obstacles in between.
I definitely want a pond that racers will have to vault across. Forcing everyone to switch tools a couple times could make the races less predictable once someone gets out to a lead. If I can, I may also put in a lengthier pillar-jumping section as well. I don’t have a lot of space to work with, but I have some ideas in mind. π
A couple minor notes about today:
- I attended both completion ceremonies for Nook’s Cranny and the museum art gallery.
- My fossil donations completed two dinosaurs, the megacerops and the iguanodon.
Have a great day, and I’ll see you next time! π
Hey Jeff, I’m sure you’ve been asked this already, but what would you like to see in future major updates? It seems dataminers have discovered plans for quite a few new things, but I haven’t really paid much attention because I’d like to be surprised.
Frankly, I’d like more home customization options and to see the return of that design-Walrus dude.
The Dream Suite is a must. Swimming and diving seem like a no-brainer since the game takes place on an island. We need the cafe to return, and I’d love to see a bulk crafting option.
Bulk crafting is a must, yeah. And maybe the ability to make tools without crafting inferior versions first
Are you going to post designs like you did for New Leaf?
I may make a few designs at some point. Any I make will be posted to the QR Codes page.
hey jeff! iβve never came to your friday forest thing, but i think next time it would be super fun for you to have a game show! JVGS trivia!!
Iβm a little disappointed in the Nookβs Cranny upgrade. I donβt mind the name and hours staying the same, but what annoys me is that it really only has 1 additional piece of furniture on sale than the old store. I was hoping for 4 items up on the stage rather than 3.
Oh, well.
I also love how the villagers know what is going on all over town. My daughter just learned how to run, and thatβs all she does (I have to remind her every 5 minutes to not run through flowers), and when I played last night, one of them mentioned to me how they saw her running around all over town. Also, a couple of days ago, CJ was in town, so when my wife played, she spent a couple of hours fishing. The next time I played, one of my villagers mentioned to me that they saw her acting like a fishing machine!
The upside is that the stage now shows more expensive items, of which I’ve seen a computer (100 000 bells) and a deluxe fridge (60 000 bells). Also, you can buy tier-2 tools/customized tools and more varieties of wallpapers/flooring.
Still hoping Nintendo adds more store upgrades, though. Especially one that allows us to customize items that are otherwise uncustomizable.
Yikes, those really are expensive! Looks like I won’t be buying a computer or fridge anytime soon. π For that price, that computer better be a real one! π
Good news! The flowery painting is always genuine! I looked at a guide on Polygon.
In New Leaf, the Flowery Painting was always genuine. Maybe that’s still the case here. Also, probably safe to assume that while the fakes won’t have the same differences to the real art as in New Leaf, the genuine article will still look like it always has (i.e. just like the IRL work of art).
