On Sunday, I ran into Pascal in the ocean. Even though it was in the evening (around sunset), he had brunch on his mind.

Monday was Shamrock Day (St. Patrick’s Day), and I was wearing my shamrock suit. I went out to Lottie’s island and enjoyed a beautiful sunset.

The next day, Audie the wolf was camping at the campsite. She was trying to make a rhyme, but she botched it.

I like Audie, but I did not ask her to move in.
When I put some bells into my savings account later, my balance reached 110 million bells!

Today is Merengue’s birthday, and it’s her first one in Forest. I bought a garden faucet at Nook’s Cranny and wrapped it up for her birthday gift. She seemed to enjoy it.

Bob was also at the party, and he wanted to make it as unforgettable for her, as his 6th birthday was for him. That’s when a birthday clown got lost in the walls of his house… Yikes. Probably not the vibe we should aiming for.

At any rate, happy birthday Merengue!
Later on, Ankha asked me to join her on the bench near the bridge to Peach Park. So I sat with her for a few moments.

Here are a few other quick notes about my life in Forest this week:
- On Sunday, Merengue was sick with a cold. I gave her some medicine, and she rewarded me with a lettered cap.
- I returned a lost book to Static on Monday, and he gave me some retro shades.
- I helped out Gulliver yesterday, and he sent me a silk hat today.
Tomorrow is the 5th anniversary of the game’s release! Happy (almost) anniversary to everyone who started on Day 1! At some point in next few days, I’ll be posting my annual slideshow of my best screenshots of the past year. And I’ll be back with another entry next week. Hope to see you then!
Happy 5-year anniversary, Jeff! It’s been so much fun keeping up with your blog posts for New Horizons and the previous entries in the series. Even though I haven’t been playing much myself, I’m so happy I can continue my love of the Animal Crossing series through your content. As I realized we were nearing the 5-year mark, the first thing I thought of was your annual slideshow! Happy Crossing, Jeff!
(Although, I’m playing a game right now called Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Kid that has a lot of parallels to Animal Crossing, which helps tide me over until the new game!)
Thank you! I actually hadn’t even heard of Natsu-Mon, but I just checked out a video review and it looks good!
Yeah, it’s been really fun thus far! It feels a bit like the recent Zelda games mixed with Animal Crossing, and occasionally some platforming segments. I only heard of it from a gaming podcast I listen to that are covering it!
I’d love for the next Animal Crossing to lean back more into its Japanese roots like the original Nintendo 64 game. It’s kind of like Natsu-Mon. I suppose we’ll see… anyways, thanks for the reply!
