Fruity Foam Melon

On Sunday, I met a camper that I’m not very familiar with. It was Celia the eagle, and she’s white and green. Quite an unusual color combination for a villager!

Celia, at the campsite: Hi, my name's Celia. I'm here on a camping trip! Do you live on the island, feathers?

I like her unique look, and I could actually picture her living in Forest, particularly on the Bird’s Nest (formerly Eagle Mountain). However, I didn’t want to force anyone out at this time. But maybe we’ll meet again someday!

Of course, sharks are in season now that June is here…even if their fins aren’t as noticeable as they were in the older games. But I actually caught two sharks, back-to-back, less than 30 seconds apart on Sunday: a whale shark and a great white. 🦈🦈

June was talking about how it’s important to drink a lot of water when the weather is hot, and I think that’s a good reminder for all of us! Stay hydrated out there!🥤

June: They say it's important to drink a lot of water in warm weather, so I try to remind myself to stay hydrated.

And from water, we move to the next topic: Watermelon. 😛 I ran into Pascal while diving today, and he suggested that we should call watermelon “fruity-foam melon” instead. I’m not so sure about that, but who am I to argue with a famous philosopher? 🍉

Pascal: Watermelon confuses me, maaan. Why can't we just call it fruity-foam melon? It's not foolin' anyone.

Here are a few other quick notes about the past week:

  • Last Thursday (6/6), I sold 15 bugs to Flick for 78,750 bells.
  • Last Saturday, K.K. Slider performed K.K. Disco for me, Ketchup, June, Agent S, and Merengue.
  • Yesterday, I helped out Gulliver by gathering up his phone parts. He sent me a katana in the mail today.
  • I returned a lost item to Rio, and she thanked me with a layered tank.
  • Flick was back again today, and I sold him 8 more bugs for 45,000 bells.

I’ll be posting my next New Horizons Moments video soon, so keep an eye out. Update: Here it is!

See you next time! Never Stop Crossing!

A Sweet House

Last Saturday, K.K. performed “I Love You” for me, Merengue, and Static.

On Sunday, I got to see the inside of Merengue’s house now that she’s unpacked. She has a lot of kitchen items, and her house looks like it could be a bakery or an ice cream shop. Sweet!

The inside of Merengue's house.

On Monday, June asked to visit my house to have a little ketchup catch up session.

June: This is probably coming out of nowhere, but do you want to go have a little catch up at your place?

So I agreed to let her visit, which was apparently her first time in my house!

June: I love what you've done in here! This room just has so much of your personality in it, you know?
Frogs and pitfalls? Sounds about right. 😆

I showed her every room, and she stopped for a little reading break on the moon. How cute! 🌙

June sits on the moon, reading a book during a visit to my house.

The next day, she sent me a nice letter in the mail to thank me.

Thank you, Jeff! It was great of you to have me over the other day. I feel like seeing the way you've set your place up gave me lots of decorating ideas for my own home. I want to give you this gift as my way of saying thanks. Hope you like it. -June

She included a gift, and I wondered if it could be her photo. But I opened it up and found a garbage can! Oof. 🗑️

Yesterday, I updated the dream version of Forest for the first time in months (since before my Switch got repaired). Fortunately, my dream address has not changed: It’s still 6717-1633-3682. If you’d like, drop in for a dream visit and meet Merengue!

Speaking of Merengue, she was sick with a cold today. I grabbed some medicine out of storage for her. She wolfed it down, and then thanked me by giving me some denim overalls. She said she hoped I didn’t catch what she had…shortcake. 😆

Merengue: Jeff, hope you don't catch what I had. Shortcake!
It’s not the worst thing to catch.

When I put some money into my bank account, my balance reached 90 million bells. 👍

Savings Balance: 90,000,000 bells.

I know I’m wayyyyyy overdue to have a Friday Night Forest in 2024…but it won’t be just yet. Maybe in late June or early July. Check back in the coming weeks for an update.

Have a great day, everyone! Never Stop Crossing! …You know I won’t!

I Surprised Myself

Yesterday, I ran into Resetti in the Roost. He was a pleasure, as always. 🙄

Resetti, in the Roost: You again! You followin' me? You sellin' somethin'?
Nice to see you too.

Since I had a rare vacancy in town, I stopped into Resident Services and redeemed some Nook Miles for some Nook Miles Tickets. But unlike last time, I wasn’t loading up with ten of them. This time, I decided to use no more than five NMTs. And if I didn’t find anyone good, then so be it. I’d risk a random villager.

When I was ready, I headed to the airport and flew to the first mystery island. Sylvia the kangaroo was there.

Sylvia, on a mystery island: Yo! How's it going? Have we met? I'm Sylvia.

I don’t particularly care for her, so it was easy to pass on my first option. So I quickly bounced.

The 2nd mystery island had my old buddy Teddy!

Teddy, on a mystery island: Are you here for survival training too? My name's Teddy. What's yours?

I’ve been a fan of him since the early GameCube days, when he lived in my town for a while before hopping a train to another town. But did I want him in New Horizons? I wasn’t sure, so I thought about it as I banged the multitude of money rocks on the island.

Banging some money rocks on a mystery island.

As tempting as it was, I ultimately decided to pass on Teddy this time. But maybe in the future! I headed off to my 3rd mystery island, and I found Merengue the “strawberry shortcake” rhino. 🍰

Merengue, on a mystery island: I wasn't expecting to meet anyone on this tour! I'm Merengue.

Her horn appears to be an upside-down strawberry, and maybe it was making me hungry. I almost surprised myself when I decided to adopt her. She’s not a villager I normally would’ve thought about taking, but for some reason, it just seemed right. For a long time, Forest had a pink villager in Midge, Marina, and then Midge again. So I guess Merengue fills that role, haha. Or like I said, maybe I was just feeling hungry at the time. 😉 She is strangely appetizing. I mean, appealing. 😉

Today, she officially moved into town. Welcome to Forest, Merengue! 🙂

Merengue: Did you come by to check in on me? You're so sweet, Jeff.
Actually you’re the sweet one. 😋

Are you surprised I took Merengue? Let me know in the comments below!

Anyway, Flick was in town today, and I sold him 27 bugs for a total of 99,450 bells. 💰

Enjoy your weekend, everyone! I’ll see you next time! 🙂
