Scarily Scrumptious

Today, Eloise was enjoying a sandwich and a seat on a bench as she looked forward to the Halloween event.

Eloise: I can't begin to imagine what's in store for us. Oh, the big Halloween event at last!

At 5:00 p.m., the event began. Louie was the first to approach me for candy. However, I hadn’t gone in my house to get it out of storage yet…so he gave me three pieces to get me started! That was nice of him…and it shows how different this event is in the newer games compared to the older games. It’s brutal on GameCube! 😛

Louie: Oh, oh banana... I just feel bad for you now. But you know what? I'm gonna help you out.

So I grabbed my candy and got ready for the event. Louie was still nearby, so I gave him a piece of candy back. In return, he gave me a spooky garland.

I found Jack nearby, on Apple Lane. I gave him some candy and he gave me Jack’s face.

Jack: Oh, so scarily scrumptious!

He asked for my help in acquiring some lollipops for him, and of course I agreed to help. A bunch of villagers were hanging out at the plaza, and it was easy to give them candy one after another. Fittingly, Marina the octopus was the first one to give me a sucker (lollipop). 😛

Marina hands me a lollipop. Louie, Agent S, Jack, and Tia also stand nearby.

I gave the lollipop to Jack, and he gave me a spooky carriage. Jack later gave me a spooky wand for a 2nd lollipop, before reverting to handing out pieces of his outfit.

If you want to see my newest villager Static’s costume (and who wouldn’t?), here it is:

Static: You came prepared

I only played about 20 minutes of the event, because I’ve already acquired everything last year. But of today’s haul, I kept the carriage and the pumpkins that some of the villagers (and Jack) gave me. But other than those, I got 13 other items (mostly from the spooky set) and I sold them for about 25k.

Out of curiosity, I checked to see how much a lollipop would sell for at Nook’s Cranny: Only 120 bells.

I hope you all had a good time. Happy Halloween, everyone! 🎃

Jack: HAAAAAPPPPYYYYYYY! HALLOWEEEEEEEN!

Forced to Pick a Seat

I received my latest reward from Gulliver in the mail today; he sent me another turban.

It’s K.K. Slider night, so I headed over to the plaza to check out the show. Eloise, Louie, and Bones were all there…but they were all seated separately, each next to an empty chair. So I was forced to choose to sit next to one of them. 😛

Eloise, Louie, and Bones all seated next to empty chairs during K.K.'s show.

So I sat next to my buddy Bones. K.K. performed K.K. Dixie, which isn’t exactly my favorite, but I still enjoyed the show.

Afterwards, Eloise told me that she selects her perfumes based on the weather. So today, she said she smelled like apple. 🍎

Eloise: For example, today I smell like apple, ella-weez.
Apple the fruit or Apple the hamster?

Was it raining apple juice or something? Anyway, she seemed to regret the decision, because insects were bugging her all day. They were apparently drawn to the scent.

Bones was basically listing his favorite things about fall.

Bones: There are so many kindsa fall! There's sportsy fall... Booksy fall... Wear-a-sweater-and-sip-coffee fall...

But he eventually shifted his attention to pies, telling me that pie pies (pies baked into other pies) are the best. 😛

Tomorrow is Halloween, and I plan on participating once again. If you need a refresher on how it all works, see my Halloween Guide. Good luck tomorrow!

Moody Painting

On Wednesday night, I received my moody painting in the mail from Jolly Redd. I took it up to the museum, and Blathers confirmed its authenticity! So I was able to donate a real work of art to the museum two days in a row! That sure doesn’t happen very often!

Moody Painting - October 27th, 2021 - Donated by Jeff

Celeste was in town, and she gave me five star fragments. With the gold rose-lined path to the museum directly behind her, I thought this made for a nice photo.

Celeste: What a sight, wouldn't you agree? Anyhoo, it was so lovely, I wanted to share it with you, Jeff!

C.J. was also on the island; I caught three big-time fish to complete his challenge, and then I sold him 84k worth of fish.

Yesterday, Static told me that he’s never used a computer until just the other day! 😮

Static: Me, though, I just used my first computer the other day...

It was his friend’s computer, and the friend kept talking about dragging and dropping. So Static dragged the computer outside and dropped it in the recycle bin! 😮 He’s not going to end up with any friends if he keeps doing things like that!

Today, Gulliver was in town. I gathered up his communicator parts for him. He will send me a prize in the mail tomorrow.

Gulliver celebrates getting all the pieces of his communicator back.

When I ran into Apollo, he acknowledged Gulliver’s presence in town, and he seemed annoyed that he was here. He even told me to give Gulliver a hard time for him. 😛

Apollo: Give 'im a hard time for me, if you happen to trip over him. Gahaha!

After customizing some furniture, I earned 3,000 Nook Miles for completing the “Furniture Freshener” achievement.

Furniture Freshener: Give your furniture that personal touch and you can unlock miles. The more items you refurbish, the more miles you can get, hm?

I’m making progress on many of my achievements, but on some others, I still have an extremely long way to go. I wonder if the coming 2.0 update will add any new achievements? With all the things added, it seems likely. I guess we’ll find out next week!

I’ll be back with another entry tomorrow. Hope to see you then! And don’t forget to keep stocking up on candy if you’ll be playing on Halloween! 🎃
