3 Million Miles

Last Friday, I bought a treadmill at Nook’s Cranny because I didn’t have it in my catalog. That completed a Nook Miles+ goal (spending 5,000+ bells), and I have now topped 3 million miles!

3,000,030 Nook Miles

On Saturday night, I headed over to Logan’s island Moonscar for his Thanksgiving party. Alex was also there, and several other people started to join in…until we all got disconnected.

So Logan reopened, and we had to go through the lengthy process of everyone joining in all over again. πŸ˜† We ended up with a full house: Logan, me, Alex, Matthew, Nicky, Jac, Jj, and MaryAnn. I took this photo of Logan’s turkey design, and mine…which I was wearing. (We joked that I ate Franklin, and the feather on my head was all that was left of him.)

Me, wearing a Franklin shirt, near a turkey flag that says YUM!

Logan had a Halloween vs. Christmas game (obstacle course, basically) and Alex and I tested it out. (I was Jack for Team Halloween, and Alex was a reindeer for Team Christmas). I made my way through and placed a pumpkin on my stool first, winning the test match.

Jeff-o'-Lantern winning the Halloween vs. Christmas game.

Logan (Halloween) then raced against Matthew (Christmas), and Matt won. I’ll include videos of both matches in my next Wi-Fi Moments video.

Next, we headed over to Logan’s house for some dinner. It took him a few tries to get the chairs lined up correctly, but we eventually got to enjoy a nice meal. πŸ˜›

After that, we hung out outside for a while. Yann had to leave, and Jesse joined in. Jac also left a few minutes later. The rest of us enjoyed a K.K. Slider performance of “Drivin’.”

K.K. Slider performs, while an ocean sunfish surrounds his head.

We were about to start a round of group stretching, but someone left (Nicky, apparently), so it sent us back to the airport. Logan then ended the session.

Almost ready to start... Looks like someone quietly left.

Yesterday, Label wanted to see me in an “everyday” outfit again. She gave me a tight-knit sweater, and I put it on. I also added some worn-out jeans and a denim cap to complete the look. Label rewarded me with a Labelle dress.

Today, I ran into Pascal while I was diving. I gave him a scallop, and he started talking about dentists in airports! I’m just impressed that I’m still seeing new dialogue from him nearly four years after this game’s release.

Pascal: Dentists should set up shop at airports. Quick teeth cleaning before a flight? Why not, maaan.

A few other quick notes about the past week:

  • I helped Gulliver last Friday, and he sent me a coin headpiece on Saturday.
  • K.K. Slider played K.K. Soul for me and Midge in Forest.
  • I got a new D.I.Y. recipe for a tree’s bounty big tree from a balloon present.

See you all next time!

Pascal x3, Turkey Day

Late last week, Pascal popped up out of the ocean to tell me about his underwear. This is crossing over into “too much information” territory, Pascal.

Pascal: Why do they all it a brief case when that's where I keep my boxers, maaan?

Before he could swim completely out of Forest, I ran to the plaza and started up a group stretching session. As I had hoped, Pascal joined in!

Rotate L to rotate your arms.

On Sunday, I saw Pascal again. He was wondering when an island stops being an island and just becomes the land. I guess if it grew enough to become a continent, but that’s not very likely to happen anytime soon. πŸ˜›

Pascal: You ever wonder when an island stops being an island and turns into just...the land? Maaaaaaan!

On Tuesday, I learned a new D.I.Y. recipe from a balloon present: It was for a maple-leaf rug.

Today is Thanksgiving in the U.S., and that means it’s Turkey Day in New Horizons. By finding/gathering ingredients, I helped Franklin prepare four great dishes.

Franklin: Let's get cooking!

The ingredients for each are as follows, including the secret ingredients that make them perfect.

  • clam chowder: 3 manila clams (+ a scallop)
  • pumpkin pie: orange pumpkin and white pumpkin (+ green & yellow pumpkins)
  • gratin: flat mushroom and a mussel (+ a Dungeness crab)
  • meuniΓ¨re: sea bass and flour (+ a barred knifejaw)
My villagers celebrate four perfect dishes. Time to eat!

In the process, I earned several items from Franklin: a Turkey Day rug, Turkey Day wall, Turkey Day flooring, cornucopia, Turkey Day table setting, Turkey Day chair, Turkey Day table, and a Turkey Day hearth.

While I was diving for ingredients, I again ran into Pascal. This time, he was talking about sports expressions…and getting his sports confused.

Pascal: They say swing for the fences and go the whole nine yards, but, like, what if you don't play hockey?

I hope you all enjoyed your Turkey Day (or harvest festival, if you were playing an older Animal Crossing game). Happy Thanksgiving! πŸ¦ƒ

I’m Not a Squirrel

It was raining in town on Sunday, and I took advantage of the situation by catching two coelacanths! I think Bones was impressed with this one. πŸ˜‰

Jeff, holding up a coelacanth near Bones: Blast from the past!

On Tuesday, Ed the horse was camping out at the campsite. He’s alright, but I did not invite him to the neigh-borhood.

Ed: Hey, you're a local, right? The name's Ed.

After putting some money in the bank, my savings balance reached 72 million bells.

Today, I found a scallop while diving, and Pascal popped up to ask for it. I handed it over, and he told me that statues could be people who aren’t in a rush. That’s actually pretty creepy to think about. Imagine if statues just stood up, stretched, and started walking around. πŸ˜›

Pascal: Maybe statues are just folks who aren't in such a rush all the time, maaan.

When I spoke with Static, he was wondering if I was a squirrel or not! πŸ˜† He may be losing his mind at this point. He’s clearly nuts. πŸ˜›

Static: Are you a 'week's half over' or a 'half a week left' sort of squirrel? Wait, are you even a squirrel?
I’m not a squirrel, I’m a pirate.

Label was in town, and she wanted to see me wearing an “everyday” outfit. She gave me a kung-fu tee as an example to use. Wait, kung-fu is considered an everyday thing? It must be more common than I thought! I didn’t realize everybody was kung-fu fighting. πŸ˜›

Label: As you can see, it's a kung-fu tee with quite the everyday flair.

I put the shirt on, and I also added some denim pants, a denim cap, and some pleather sneakers. Label approved of the look, and she rewarded me with a Labelle knit shirt.

I have a bit of an announcement regarding this blog. I’ve been posting two entries every week for quite a while now, but I’m going to be changing this to a weekly blog now. There will still be a 2-entry week occasionally (particularly if a villager is moving in/out, or if I decide to have Friday Night Forest and I post an early-week notice about it).

I still plan on playing the game daily, and of course I’ll continue making videos as well. If you’re looking for more Animal Crossing content, please check out my other blogs as well. My City Folk and Wild World blogs are updated weekly, my New Leaf blog is update twice a month, and my GameCube blog is updated monthly. You can see the latest entries on the JVGS home page.

See you next time!
