Not Everybody

Yesterday, Label was hanging out at the plaza. She wanted to see me in a sporty outfit, and she gave me a bulldog jacket as an example. So I put it on, but I also added some basketball shorts, basketball shoes, a skateboarding helmet, and some ski goggles. It may have been an odd combination, but everything was sporty, so Label loved it. She gave me some Labelle socks for my trouble.

Label hands my sporty self some Labelle socks.

Raymond was camping up at the campsite, but I was not interested.

Raymond: Ha HA! Got you. I'm not THAT fancy-pantsy. My name actually is Raymond, though.
Not everybody loves Raymond.

When I visited Apollo, he had an odd question for me. He told me to imagine a fishbowl in front of me, and then he asked me what was inside it.

Apollo: Imagine there's a fishbowl sittin' in front of you. Now...what's inside the fishbowl?

The choices he gave me were odd, but I picked an octopus because it seemed like a more appropriate choice than the other two options. Apollo said it was a personality test, and it meant I was a softie at heart…just like him.

Hornsby asked if my hobby was still annoying Rizzo. Not anymore, thankfully! At least not in New Horizons. (City Folk is a different story.)

Hornsby: Is it true that your hobby is annoying Rizzo?

Today, Bones was telling me that singing is a free activity, and anyone can do it. He just warned me to be careful, because a bug recently “fwooped” into his mouth while he was hitting a high note…and he ate it. Yikes. 🐞

Bones: Just be careful when you're hitting the high notes--a bug fwooped into my mouth last week and I ate it...

Saharah was in town, and I bought everything except the small rug. I ended up with a misty-garden wall (cool), a peach checked rug (nothing special), a stormy-night wall (amazing–it has animated rain and lightning!), a racetrack flooring (alright), and an Earth rug (cool). I put the Earth rug up in my space room.

My space room as of August 2021.

Wisp was also in town. I found four of his spirits rather quickly, but the 5th one took me a while. But once I did find it, Wisp gave me a hammock for helping him out.

Have a great night (or day)! The next New Horizons Moments video is coming very soon!

Artsy August

On Sunday, I found a scallop while diving. Pascal popped up and said that when we feel dizzy, maybe we’re just noticing that the world is spinning. 😵

Pascal: Maybe when we get really dizzy, that's actually us noticing how the world is always rotating.

Yesterday, Bones sent me some art in the mail. It was a common painting, and it was authentic! That’s the third authentic piece of art my villagers have mailed me this month!

Dear burrito's brain, Do you like artsy stuff? 'Cause I found something real neat when I was cleaning. It made my brain think all kinds of weird thoughts just by staring at it! Isn't that cool? Now it's your turn! -Thinker Bones

The only disappointing thing is that I already had a common painting in the museum. But I’ll hang onto it for a future prize or giveaway.

Gullivarrr the pirate was in town, and I went diving to find his communicator for him; I found it on my third dive.

Marina told me that she loved the weather, because it’s great for air-drying her laundry. Wait, wouldn’t she prefer her laundry to be wet? She is an octopus, after all.

Marina: I'm glad for weather like this that's perfect for air-drying my laundry!

Later, I found her sitting on the ground near a bridge. It looked a bit odd because of all the extra legs. Uh, arms. Whatever. 😛

Marina sits on the ground in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Today, I received some pirate pants in the mail from Gulliver.

Marina was home today, so I finally got to see the inside of her house now that she’s unpacked. Her house is very pink. Unfortunately, she was sick with a cold. But I gave her some medicine, and she’s already starting to feel better.

I noticed some cool cumulonimbus clouds in the sky tonight. I believe this is only the 2nd time I’ve seen them; the first time was last July.

I posted a (short) new video today, showing the names that jocks give to their abs in two different Animal Crossing games. Most of you probably know about the New Horizons names, which all start with “Ab-,” but the names in Wild World are completely different.

See you all next time!

Yesterday, Tybalt sent me a letter thanking me for the birthday present. I found his photo attached! This is my first duplicate photo in New Horizons, and I believe it was also the first villager photo I got in the mail.

C.J. was in town, and he wanted me to catch three big-time fish in a row for his seasports challenge. So I caught an arowana, a squid, and a whale shark to complete the challenge. I later sold him 16 fish for 227k.

C.J.: Oh, you got a whole school for me? All together that'll be... 227,250 bells. Deal?

I found Celeste up by the museum, and she taught me the DIY recipe for a nova light.

Next, I purchased five Nook Miles Tickets and started searching for my next villager! On the first mystery island, I found Leonardo the leopard. From there, things got worse. I then found Chops the hideous pig, and then an old nemesis of mine…

Rizzo: Don't believe we've met. Name's Rizzo!

Rizzo! No thanks! It took me forever to get rid of him.

But on the 4th mystery island, I found the perfect replacement for Midge: Marina the octopus! I immediately asked her to move to Forest.

Marina: Mom always says there's magic in chance encounters, so I'm glad we ran into each other like this.

Today, Marina moved in, and I welcomed her to town.

Marina: Did you come by to check in on me? You're so sweet, Jeff.

Midge and Marina have quite a few things in common. They’re both cute, they’re both “normal” personality villagers, their names both start with the letter M, and they’re both pink! So all the pink flowers that I planted around Midge’s house still feel right at home.

Pink cosmos around Marina's house.
It just feels a bit sad that Midge left her bird behind.

But their similarities remind me of when Apollo moved into Keaton’s spot, and I didn’t have to change the name of Eagle Mountain.

K.K. Slider was in town, and he performed K.K. Etude for me, Apollo, and Louie. During the show, Apollo’s left wing looked like a large knife that was slicing through my arm. Ouch!

Louie, Apollo, and Jeff listen to K.K. Slider's performance.
Cut it out! No wait, bad choice of words.

Shortly after that, I wrapped up my game for the night. See you all next time!
