Happy Birthday, Bones!

Yesterday, my campsite was cursed with an appearance by Eugene, the ugly smug koala with a huge orange nose. There’s no way he’s moving to this island.

Eugene, at the campsite: Heya! Are you from around here? I'm kinda on vacation, just relaxing and focus-grouping a few things...

Celeste was in town last night, and she taught me how to make a crescent-moon chair.

SWEET! I learned a DIY recipe for a crescent-moon chair!

Not far away, I also spotted Jolly Redd’s ship. He had a fake quaint painting, a fake amazing painting, a fake informative statue, and a moving painting I wasn’t sure about. I bought the moving painting, and I felt pretty good about it, since the other three were fake.

But today, I received the art from Redd, and Blathers informed me that it was a fake. Even though Redd will usually have at least one real work of art, it’s not a guarantee. It’s a bummer, but at least I now have a picture of the fake one for comparison purposes for next time.

Today is Bones’s birthday, and I made sure to attend his party. This is his first birthday on the island, believe it or not. He looks so sharp in his birthday suit outfit! 😛

Bones: It's real cool to have everyone celebrate my birthday like this.
Happy birthday, dawg!

I gave him a customized doghouse as his present, and he loved it. Agent S was also at the party, and she was happy to see Bones smiling. 🙂

Agent S: And, like, when Bones is smiling, I get really happy too!

C.J. was in town with another seasports challenge for me. He wanted me to catch three big-time fish in a row, so I caught a catfish, an arowana, and a soft-shelled turtle. I grabbed some additional fish from storage, and I sold 13 fish to C.J. (in Donkey Kong Country) for 197k.

C.J.: Oh, you got a whole school for me? All together that'll be... 197,325 bells. Deal?

I’ll be back with another entry later in the week. Have a good day!

Cotton Candy & Fireworks

The first fireworks festival of the summer was held today, and I picked up some items from Redd. He has some new treats this year, including cotton candy, frozen treats, and boba tea!

Eating some cotton candy in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

These are more like the treats in New Leaf, in that you can actually eat (or drink) them up after a few uses. But keep in mind that they count as food, so you can destroy your rocks if you hit them with a shovel after eating or drinking.

Isabelle gave me a bulb bopper to wear, so I put it on. At 9:30, I opened up my gate. Jac came over, and surprisingly, he was the only one…at least for the first 20 minutes.

At the plaza, I was dressed as King Tut, and I fell on my face immediately after waving! I wasn’t even walking, let alone running! I’ve never seen that before!

At 9:50, Bran came over to join in. T. Zelda also tried to join in a bit later, but we all got disconnected. So I reopened, and T. Zelda, Jac, Sacky, and Bran came over. TZ shared some of Redd’s treats, so thanks, TZ! We sat at the oasis as we enjoyed some fireworks, treats, and bean-tossing.

Hanging out at the oasis.

After a little while, it said that someone quietly left. But when I checked to see who it was, I saw that two people actually left: TZ and Sacky (at the same time). The three of us remaining did some diving, and then Sacky returned about 10:30.

I suggested a couple of King Tut races, so Bran, Jac, and I competed. (Sacky did not join in.) I actually won both races, and I figured it must’ve been due to home-tomb advantage. 😛

We then had a diving competition, and I beat Bran 20-19. My last catch happened with just three seconds to spare, so it was super close! Jac had 13 points, and Sacky did not participate.

Jac suggested a sumo match, and I had just enough pitfalls for one round. Jac, Bran, and I competed, and Bran was the winner. Congrats, Bran!

MaryAnn then came over, and we headed to the plaza. My villagers appeared to be all lined up for Redd!

Several of my villagers seem to line up for Redd.

Four of us were dressed as Mario at one point, and one Mario trapped two of the others on the bleacher seats above the sumo ring. That Mario (who may have been me) revealed his true identity: Wario!

Wario traps Mario and Mario.

I stayed on until midnight, when we watched the grand finale at Peach Park.

The fireworks grand finale in Forest.

I had a good time, so thank you to everyone who came!

However, I feel like I need an extended break from online play for a while. So Friday Night Forest is discontinued until further notice.

Kidnapped

On Thursday, Gullivarrr sent me my latest reward, a pirate rug. It’s the rug that looks like a treasure map. Out of habit, I put it in storage, even though I think it’s identical to the one I already had in storage.

Wisp was in town, and he gave me a mobile for returning his five spirits. Flick was also hanging around, so I sold him eight bugs for 75,000 bells.

Flick: Let me know if you catch any more!
His eyes were bugging out.

Today was my character’s birthday, so Bones kidnapped me and forced me into his house. Midge and Tybalt were also there, and they forced me to celebrate by blowing out candles on my birthday cake. I also had to hit a pinata with a stick.

Bones tells me to 'Smack it!' as I hit a pinata at my birthday party.

After a couple minutes, my kidnappers finally let me go.

At the plaza, K.K. Slider performed K.K. Birthday for me. Agent S was also in attendance.

When I visited Bones again later, he said we should be friends forever, if I don’t have anything else on my schedule. That’s so cute! It almost makes me forget about the whole kidnapping incident. 😛 (But not quite.)

Bones: Hey, I got an idea. Let's be friends forever. I mean, if you don't have anything else on your schedule?

I’ll be opening up my gate for people on my friend roster tomorrow night for the fireworks festival. I think I’ll open about 9:30 p.m. EDT, which is half an hour earlier than my usual FNF time.
