Tower of Sunfish

Yesterday, Gulliver was in town…and he was standing in the water. πŸ˜› I dug up the five pieces of his communicator and returned them to him.

Gulliver: Blugh... Swallowed a LOT of seawater.

FYI, a cool globe is now available from Nook Shopping as a seasonal item for Nature Day. It costs 2,300 bells.

Flip the monkey was camping at the campsite, but I was not interested in asking him to move in.

Flip: I'm on a quest to find a new rival. My last one flexed so hard they got stuck like that. It was awesome!

I played a treasure hunt game with Bones, and he only gave me three minutes to find the treasure. However, it only took me about one minute to find the prize (a denim jacket). πŸ˜›

Today, I received my latest reward from Gulliver: an alpinist hat. Apparently, I haven’t helped Gulliver 30 times yet because I still didn’t get my golden shovel recipe. I’ve seen other people getting theirs lately though, so I’m sure most of us who started on launch day are getting close to unlocking it!

Celeste was in town, and she taught me the DIY recipe for a crewed spaceship.

Around 10:00, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. Logan Shrek, Samzyy, Alex from A-Nation, Jake, Nami, and Timo came over. I led them over to my new structure, but Logan/Shrek fell into the first two pitfalls of the night. πŸ˜›

Shrek (Logan) falls into a pitfall.

My new structure is an ocean sunfish tower. πŸ˜›

A tower of ocean sunfish.

The only problem is that it’s difficult to view the whole thing. I may need to redesign it, possibly with an observation deck one level up.

At about 10:30, Alex from Pawnee came over, Jake disconnected, and Xavier joined in. We had a full house, so I suggested some Mario races. However, it quickly became clear that we were experiencing far too much lag to run the races smoothly. But we raced anyway.

After everybody raced once, Samzyy left and T Zelda arrived. I asked if people wanted to continue racing, but Alex pointed out that Celeste was in town, so everyone kinda took off to see her. πŸ˜€ Shortly after that, we had an impromptu outfit-changing session.

Everyone was rapidly changing outfits using magic wands.

Xavier said it was “delightfully insane,” and I couldn’t agree more. πŸ˜‚

We then hung out on the Super Mario Sunshine beach (and jail cell), and TZ left about 11:30.

We had a sea-creature catching competition, but I was hampered with some extreme lag. When I caught one creature, it took me a minute and a half underwater before I came back up to the surface. Later, a dive kept me underwater for five minutes as the timer ran out (and beyond). In fact, I was only freed when Alex from A-Nation left. But Timo won the event with 22 catches, so congrats, Timo!

About midnight, Calvin came over as I was trying to wash my fish in the fountain. πŸ˜›

Please close the window.

Logan left, and the rest of us played some music, hung out at Sudden Valley, and tried to eat Nami’s pancakes.

I ended the session about 12:40. Thanks to everyone who came, it was fun! You’ll be seeing some of tonight’s best moments in a future Wi-Fi Moments video. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Prehistoric Flavors

Yesterday, I received my twinkling painting in the mail from Jolly Redd, and it was the real deal.

The Starry Night. Vincent van Gogh, 1889. Oil on canvas.
This is one of my favorite paintings.

It’s been raining pretty much every day this week, and I’m getting tired of it (and the dozens of new flower buds I have to clean up every day). It’s so bad that I actually agreed with Rizzo about something!

Rizzo: I'm a rat, when's this dad-gummed rain gonna stop?!

Flick was in town, so I grabbed some bugs out of storage to sell to him. I only had a few though, so my payday was only about 25,000 bells.

Today, Bones was talking about bones. Well, not exactly bones, but fossils. He said that if I find a fossil of a yummy dessert, he wanted to lick it. I don’t think it would taste very good after thousands of years, but okay.

Bones: You're going treasure hunting? If you find a fossil of a yummy dessert, can I lick it?

Ah yes, the two types of fossils: dino bones and ice-cream cones.

Bones: I wanna taste prehistoric flavors...
Maybe I can find some fossilized moose tracks.

C.J. was in town with a seasports challenge for me: He wanted me to catch three big-time fish in a row. That’s easy enough, so I caught a black bass, dace, and another black bass. I later grabbed nine fish out of storage and sold them to C.J. for a total of almost 73k.

C.J.: Oh, you got a whole school for me? All together that'll be... 72,750 bells. Deal?

I found a lost item on the ground outside of Apollo’s house, and it was a bag that was apparently “the work of a craftsman.” I think I remembered that being a cranky item, so I asked Apollo about it. Sure enough, it was his. He thanked me for returning it by giving me a sports cap.

I am planning on having Friday Night Forest this week. So if you’re on my roster, feel free to stop by Friday around 10 p.m. Eastern time.

Silver Fish Trophy

Yesterday, C.J. sent me a letter congratulating me for accumulating 200 points in the fishing tournament(s) so far.

Fishionista Jeff, Everyone's babblin' about the way you schooled the Fishing Tourney. Seriously? 200 net points? You're like a rising tide! I say this trophy absolutely belongs on your shores. Congratulations! Easy breezy, huh? -C.J.

He included the silver fish trophy, and I put it in my house where it will stay nice and wet. Can’t have it drying out! πŸ˜›

The silver fish trophy under the shower.

K.K. Slider was in town for his rescheduled concert, so I headed over to the Apollo plaza once it was showtime. πŸ˜‰

Apollo: It's showtime!!

K.K. performed K.K. Tango for me, Apollo, Rizzo, Louie, and Midge.

Today, Midge sent me a letter talking about clocks. She said that she likes to keep two of them around, so that if one stops, she still has the other one. So she sent me a clock so that I can use it as a backup. But I opened up the package, and it was an hourglass! I might have a little trouble telling time on an hourglass. 🀦

Agent S was sick with a cold, so I bought some medicine for her. She took it, and she started to feel better. She rewarded me by giving me a heart… apron. πŸ˜›

Agent S: I want to thank you. So, here's a heart
I was pumped to receive this! Nothing beats it! πŸ’™

Jolly Redd was in town, and I bought a twinkling painting from him.

When I visited Rizzo, he was talking about his garbage can. He said he didn’t really want it at first, but now he admits that it screams “Rizzo!” Sounds like he’s admitting he’s trash. πŸ—‘οΈπŸ˜†

Rizzo: Now I can't imagine this place without! Just helps it all scream Rizzo a bit louder.

Louie asked about moving out of town, but I told him to stick around.

Trivia: Five of my ten villagers (Louie, Midge, Agent S, Rizzo, and Tia) have now lived in Forest for over a year. Obviously, Rizzo is the one I want to get rid of. But if Midge asked to go first, I think I would likely let her go. I definitely like Midge, but she’s not in my top tier of villagers. And I’d say a 1-year+ stay in town is more than sufficient for someone who’s not one of my top favorites (or a starter).

See you all next time!
