Ordering Mario Items

Yesterday, I opened my mailbox to find that both Xavier and Nami sent me hot dog buns costumes. Now I can be an official member of the hot dog gang, the Weenie Heads! Nami’s letter referenced some things Allie said in one of my old ACCF Wi-Fi Moments videos. 😂

Dear Jeff, Congratulations! You are now an official weenie heads member! Now nobody will mess with you! -From Nami

Daisy Mae was in town, and I bought 1,300 turnips from her, at a cost of 103 bells apiece.

Today is March 1st: The day we can start ordering Mario items! So the very first thing I did was check the catalog and started ordering. I decided to order three of the pipes, so I can start thinking about how to use them in my obstacle course. I also ordered a block and a Thwomp.

Thwomp: 3,000 bells.

The Thwomp in particular seems to be ideal for an obstacle course.

There are 33 Mario items to order…and you can only order five per day. Oof. The good thing is that these items show up as “promotion” items (like the linked Pocket Camp items), not seasonal items. So they are not time-limited; you can order them year-round.

Another seasonal item showed up in the app today, a pi pie. It only costs 314 bells, but it’ll be a while until I can order it since I’ll be busy buying Mario items for the foreseeable future. 😛

I then checked my mail and found two letters from Ethan: He sent me two pipes! I was able to test them out and warp between them. Thanks, Ethan!

Jeff warps between pipes.

Saharah was in town, and I got a western vista, red dotted rug, tropical rug, and circuit-board flooring from her.

I couldn’t find Apollo anywhere in town, so I checked the museum. And there he was, in the bug room. I just kinda hate having to search the museum to find villagers; it takes so long!

Apollo: Oh, hey kiddo. What's on your mind?
Don’t go chasing waterfalls, my friend.

March is here, and that means some new creatures should be out there somewhere. I went diving and caught my first firefly squid. Only one more sea creature to go!

I got a firefly squid! More like a glowswim squid.

I posted a new video today, comparing each version of my town Forest from across the series. From basic facts like the town fruit and grass shape, to my favorite/worst villagers I’ve had in each town, to things like my proudest accomplishments and remaining goals. I hope you enjoy it!

Outdoor Spring Cleaning

Louie was still sick with a cold, and fortunately I was able to enter his house today. 😛 He had it so bad that he compared his chills to running a marathon in a blizzard!

Louie: My head hurts, and I've got chills like I just ran a marathon in a blizzard... What's happening to me?
You’re experiencing something called a tropical freeze.

I grabbed some medicine for him out of storage, and he instantly started feeling better. He gave me a relay tank as thanks for the medicine.

K.K. Slider was in town, and I asked him for a random song. But before I sat down to enjoy the music, I moved around some of my Festivale stages so that I could enjoy the lights during the show. K.K. Slider then played K.K. Aria for me (and Rizzo).

K.K. Slider performs as colored lights from Festivale stages shine.

After the show, I finally started organizing some of my Festivale furniture. I put a lot of it into storage, but I did leave out some pieces. I lined up my confetti machines, left the stages in place around the plaza, and kept my Festivale floats in place. It may not be permanent, but it makes this area seem quite festive.

Confetti machines line a path and three Festivale floats are illuminated.

I also used the Festivale garlands as path liners outside of Nook’s Cranny.

But that wasn’t all of the outdoor spring cleaning I did: I completely removed my holiday movie obstacle course. I sold a lot of the stuff, but I put most of the holiday items into storage. The western edge of town is now a blank canvas, awaiting my next obstacle course.

A completely open field on the western edge of the island.

Just a couple more days until we can start ordering Mario items! 🙂 See you all next time!

Hot Dogs in Space

When I checked the seasonal items available through Nook Shopping today, they listed a hinaningyo instead of the blossom lantern. Apparently they will only list one of the two items each day. I’m not sure why, but I’m not a fan of them limiting our options like this. If they only want to sell one per day, they should be sold in the shop, IMO.

Hinaningyo: 2,560 bells.

C.J. was in town today, and he wanted me to catch three big-time fish in a row for his seasports challenge. I caught a black bass, a dab, and an olive flounder to complete the challenge. I sold them to C.J., but I didn’t bother getting any other fish out of storage for him this time.

About 10:08 p.m. (yes, I was running a bit late), I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. Ros, Logan, and Timo came over. Logan pointed out that Nook’s Cranny still had their winter decorations up (including the snowman in front) even though the snow is gone. I guess it just didn’t melt yet. 😛

As we were hanging out on my Festivale stages, Ros disconnected… after just about ten minutes in town. 🙁

Back in Sudden Valley, I spotted a lost item behind my last snowman. As I picked up the bag, we had another visitor: Locuras came over to visit. It was her first time in Forest, so I started giving her a tour of the island.

As Locuras visited with the Apple Lane residents, I asked Rizzo about the lost item. He said it wasn’t his, but it looked like it might belong to Apollo.

I was surprised to see that we couldn’t enter Louie’s house, because he was sick with a cold! I apparently missed his house on my walk-through earlier in the day. But the sick notice on the door reminded me of my ACCF days!

My bod's sick in bed. Try me some other time. -Louie

At 10:45, Nami came over to visit…threatening to release nine sea bass into the waters around Forest! 😮

I eventually ran into Apollo up on Eagle Mountain, and he gave me a pajama dress for returning his bag.

This was the last opportunity to play my holiday movie obstacle course, so I held one last race. Nami didn’t want to participate, but Locuras, Timo, and Logan competed. Timo and Locuras both missed the magic hat initially, but quickly went back and activated it. But even that slight delay was enough to allow Logan to run away with the win. He didn’t even have to cheat this time! 😉

After the match, Nami started following through on her threat to release sea bass at my beach. Locuras suggested a group photo on the beach, but before we could take it, Ros attempted to rejoin. Unfortunately, we all got disconnected.

I reopened and Nami, Locuras, and Timo returned. Xavier also joined in, but Logan did not return. So we got to take that group photo, just with a slightly different group. 😛

A group photo on the beach.

Nami then showed us how her sleeves automatically roll up when she equips a tool such as a ladder (and instantly return when she puts the tool away).

We went back to my house and hung out there for a while. We showed off fish in the bathroom, and then we went upstairs to my space-themed room. Xavier and Nami turned into hot dogs, and I got my hot dog hood out of storage. I was all out of buns though. I mean, I didn’t have the costume. 😛

The hot dog gang.

After that, I started eating pumpkins for some reason, and everyone started talking about food. 😀 Then we all went swimming and diving, and we seemed to find quite a few good catches. I pooped out my pumpkins, we hung out on Rainbow Road, and then I ended the session at 1 a.m. Thanks to everyone who came, it was a lot of fun! 🙂

Have a great weekend, everyone! And Never Stop Crossing! 🙂
