Grass Returns

Yesterday, I found Gullivarrr on the beach. I went diving and retrieved his communicator for him.

Gullivarrr stands up.

Near the plaza, I listened in on a conversation between Bones and Louie. Bones wanted to know how Louie was so charming all the time. Wait…Louie? Charming? Him?

Bones: Man, Louie, how are you so charming all the time?

Louie said he regularly does cheek exercises that give him a clean, refreshing smile. Uh, if you say so. 😛

It was the last day for snow cover on the ground, so I made myself one last snowboy in Sudden Valley. So long, winter!

My last snowboy of the season.

The latest game update arrived last night, but I didn’t play until today. Nintendo sent a letter with a mushroom mural (animated Mario wallpaper) as a thanks for downloading the update. I also received my reward from Gullivarrr, a pirate rug–which looks like a treasure map! Here’s a look at both items.

A blossom lantern is now available as a seasonal item. Be sure to order it by March 3rd!

The blossom lantern, available until 3/3.

On the daily newscast, Isabelle noted that we can now start harvesting young spring bamboo.

And of course, the snow is now gone! Woohoo! I spotted Celeste up on Eagle Mountain, and she taught me the DIY recipe for a Pisces lamp.

SWEET! I learned

I also checked in on my snowboy. He’s starting to melt, but at least he lived to see spring.

Friday Night Forest is tomorrow! Check back late Friday (or Saturday morning) for the blog entry.

Circle of Life

On Saturday night, K.K. Slider was in town. I asked him for a random song, and he played K.K. Marathon. The song wasn’t anything special, but I got a kick out of how the lights from my Festivale stages showed up during the performance. I wasn’t expecting that, so it was a nice surprise light show.

I’m now able to give Apollo gifts, so I gave him a wall clock I bought at the store a few days ago. It’ll be the first of many gifts for my new eagle as I start working towards earning his photo…uh, I mean, friendship. 😛

Last night, Wisp was in town. I collected and returned his five spirits. In return, he gave me an oversized shawl overshirt. I was understandably underwhelmed by the oversized overshirt. 😉

I release

Today, Hornsby told me that he smacks rocks to find bugs, but he usually just finds bells…which he uses to buy snacks…

Hornsby: I smack rocks to find bugs, but usually I just find bells. So I spend those bells on snacks...

And then the crumbs from those snacks are eaten by the bugs in his house. Ah, the circle of life. 😂

Hornsby: And the snack crumbs I drop are food for the bugs in my house! It all works out! Man, nature is beautiful...

Since Rizzo is getting a little too comfortable in town, I decided to remind him who’s in charge…by pitfalling him twice. 😛 He needs to start thinking about moving out of town!

Rizzo falls into a pitfall.

I posted a new video yesterday, New Horizons Moments #6. It features some of the best moments from this year so far. I hope you enjoy it!

Apple’s Winter Facts

Flick was in town yesterday; I sold him six emperor butterflies and two dung beetles for 45,000 bells.

Several of my villagers were running around the plaza with glow sticks. When I spoke with Apple, she shared a science fact about winter…even though she just made it up herself.

Apple: Winter fact one! Winter air is all dry because the moisture tots froze up! Winter fact two! I made fact one up!

I got to see the inside of Apollo’s house for the first time, and I really like it! It may not be very colorful, but the black-and-white look reminds me a bit of the modern series in older games that I always liked a lot.

The inside of Apollo's house.

I went diving and found a scallop, which summoned Pascal from…wherever he comes from. His “words of wisdom” were about the orchestra pit of the universe. And honestly, I didn’t understand this one.

Pascal: A child's laugh...and a horn section with a sax in front. That's it. That's the orchestra pit of the universe.

But he gave me a pearl in exchange for the scallop.

Today, there was a camper at the campsite…and my first thought was that I hoped it wasn’t one of my favorites inside the tent. (Even though I am happy having Apollo, of course.) Fortunately, it turned out to be Chester the panda. I’m not interested in him.

Chester: It's a buncha fun camping on this island. The air smells good, like food. I wanna bite it, rookie!

Hornsby informed me that there was a boat parked up on the north shore. He thought it must be somebody important since they have their own boat. 😛 But he was more interested in tooting the horn. 😂

Hornsby: Must be someone pretty important if they have their own boat... Think they'd let me toot the horn? TOOT!

Of course, the boat belonged to Crazy Jolly Redd. He had three fake paintings, and one real one. Unfortunately, the real one was a flowery painting, which I already have in the museum. But I still bought it to give as a future prize (perhaps on the first running of my next obstacle course).

I also bought a throwback skull radio from Redd, because he had the ash-colored one. Previously, I only had the black version…which definitely looks great, but it’s not as realistic-looking.

I plan on posting the next New Horizons Moments video on Sunday, so stay tuned for that!
