Not Your Fault

Last night, I changed my town tune to the song “Not Your Fault” by Awolnation. Some of you may remember the video being featured on the Nintendo Video app on 3DS. Here are the notes if you’d like to use it as your town tune.

Today’s Festivale item at the shop was the Festivale garland, and I placed it outside of Nook’s Cranny. I may put all of the items on that stretch of path running from the airport to my house.

When I visited Apple, she told me that she accidentally bought a dupe… a dupe of her school hat, that is.

Apple: So, like, I bought something online the other day, but turns out I bought a dupe! Lame...

She said it would look so good on me that people would ask if I was Apple. Yeah, I don’t quite think that’s true. But it’s a free hat, so I’ll take it.

Apple: The color combo is SO glam! You'll look SO good, folks will SO say, Hey! Are you Apple?!

While I was at town hall, I told Tom Nook I’d like to attend the completion ceremony for my replacement camp ramp. For the ceremony, the fencing in the way was temporarily removed. Hornsby is standing where there’s actually a fence. 😛

Jolly Redd was in town, so of course I checked out his art. He had a quaint painting that was fake, a mystic statue that was real, a scenic painting that looked fake, and a sinking painting I had no idea about. (It was the first time I’ve seen the sinking painting!) Since the only sure real work of art was one I already had in the museum, I took a chance on the sinking painting.

That’s all for today, but I’ll be back with another entry tomorrow. But it’ll be late, due to Friday Night Forest, of course. See you then!

Pyramid

Gulliver surprised me yesterday, by not sending me an ugly hat. In fact, he didn’t send a hat at all; he sent me a pyramid! This is probably one of his top-five best rewards. So for one week at least, I was glad I helped him out.

Wisp was in town, and when he saw me, he sneezed out his spirits. Or something like that. 😛

I hunted them down and returned them to Wisp. In return, he gave me some cubic parquet flooring.

I found a lost item on the ground, and it was a bag that smelled like minty sports creams. I took it over to the first jock I saw (Tybalt), and he thanked me for returning it. He rewarded me with a jumper work suit.

Today, I found Rizzo sleeping while sitting on the ground outside. He was sleep-talking, telling clouds to be quiet because spoons are sleeping. He’s an odd one. 😛

Rizzo: Mmmm...be quiet, clouds...spoons're sleepin'... well, ask the bicycle yourself... HUH?!

When I visited Apple, she was being uncharacteristically rude. She said I wear this outfit so much that she’d expect it to be grody!

Apple: You wear that outfit so often, I'd expect it to be kind of grody!

I’ve bought a couple more Festivale items at Nook’s Cranny, the balloon and drum. I put them near the entrance of my town. And as you can see in this screenshot, there was a meteor shower tonight.

Celeste was in town tonight, and she taught me how to make an Aquarius urn.

Celeste: Would you care to watch nature's most beautiful performance with me?

I decided to replace the incline that I removed when I was working on my obstacle course. It’s a couple spaces over from where it used to be, but that’s not a big deal. It was inconvenient not having a ramp there at all, so it’ll be nice to have it back by tomorrow.

As of now, I am planning on hosting Friday Night Forest this week.

Festivale Reactions Available!

Yesterday, Bones asked me to make a delivery to Tybalt. The gift was a lawn mower, and Tybalt had a surprising reaction to it.

Tybalt: A lawn mower! My life is complete!
Really? You are aware the grass here never grows, right?

As a reward, Tybalt gave me an orange. If I’m not mistaken, that’s the first time I’ve received a foreign fruit from a villager…although I did get some peaches in a letter from Mom before, early in the game.

Today, Hornsby sent me a letter asking if I liked artsy stuff. It didn’t even register in my brain that he was sending me a work of art until I actually opened the attachment. It was a basic painting, and I excitedly rushed it over to the museum. Blathers informed me that it was authentic! Wow! Thanks, Hornsby! 😀

Now that February is here, the game is gearing up for Festivale. Nook’s Cranny will carry some Festivale items, including this stall that I bought today.

Tommy: Seems like you're interested in a Festivale stall.

Tommy also informed me that there is a collection of new Festivale reactions available in the cabinet, so I bought that as well. It cost a whopping 19,800 bells, but it gives you four reactions: confetti, viva, let’s go (which lets us hop on one foot), and “feelin’ it.” I think confetti is my favorite of the bunch.

Able Sisters also has some sparkly Festivale costumes you can buy.

Although I ended up buying an ogre costume instead. 😀

Nook Shopping also has two new items for Valentine’s Day that you can order: a chocolate heart and a heart-shaped bouquet.

Gulliver was washed up on the beach, and I collected his five communicator parts and returned them to him. What ugly hat will he send me this time? Find out in the next entry. 😛

Friga the snooty penguin was camping at the campsite. As far as snooty villagers go, Friga isn’t bad. I considered letting her move in but only if she chose to replace Rizzo. However, I kept losing her games (six times in a row), and I just gave up.

Friga: Oh, thank you for stopping by. I don't believe we've met. I'm Friga.

If it was a snooty that I really liked (such as Ankha, Purrl, or Opal), I would have kept trying. But Friga isn’t worth playing half an hour’s worth of guessing games for a 10% chance she’ll want to replace Rizzo. 😛

After cutting some wood from trees, I completed the final “Rough-hewn” goal. I earned 3,000 Nook Miles for chopping 5,000 chunks of wood from trees.

A few trees later, I caught a wasp for my 4,000th bug! It doesn’t earn me any miles (until I hit 5,000), but I have been keeping an eye on my bug count when I saw I was getting close to 4k.

Speaking of bugs, I’ve noticed that dung beetles sell for 3,000 bells…that’s more than wasps! So I’ve decided to start saving my dung beetles for when Flick visits.

And if you haven’t seen it yet, here is my holiday movie-based obstacle course video. I hope you enjoy it!
