Illuminated Snowflakes

Yesterday’s snowboy gave me a DIY recipe for an ice wand. That’s obviously my least favorite ice/frozen item yet, but oh well. It’s not like I can wave a magic wand and make it disappear. 😛 But I also earned 500 Nook Miles for building my 10th quality snowperson.

At Nook’s Cranny, I ran into Rizzo. He was looking at a skeleton, saying that he used to have one of those himself!

Rizzo: A skeleton? I think I used to have one of these... ages ago.
So I guess you’re all cartilage now?

Today, I was surprised to see Celeste right outside my house as I started up the game. She taught me the DIY recipe for the galaxy flooring.

C.J. was in town, and I caught five fish in a row to complete his freestyle challenge.

C.J., taking a photo of Jeff: Way to wreck that seasports challenge! What a haul!

I grabbed some fish out of storage, and I sold him 7 red snappers, 5 pikes, 3 football fish, 3 oarfish, 3 sturgeon, an arapaima, a koi, and a goldfish for a total of 164,700 bells.

Today’s snowboy taught me how to make an ice wall (the wallpaper, not the actual wall of ice, which is called a frozen partition). And two of the balloon presents I shot down today contained new seasonal recipes: I learned how to make a snowflake pochette and illuminated snowflakes. I made the snowflakes, and placed them (along with some of my other seasonal items) around Candy Cane Lane.

Several of my frozen items around Candy Cane Lane.

I’m not turning this area into a game or obstacle course yet, but maybe it can be a cool place to hang out this winter.

Note: Even though today was the winter solstice (in the northern hemisphere), the game didn’t do anything special for the occasion. Unless, of course, you count the two seasonal items from the NookStop which have been available all month. I think New Leaf spoiled us with a multitude of seasonal events, even if many of them were very minor happenings.

Have a good day, and I’ll see you all next time! ❄️❄️❄️

Northern Lights

In the mail, I received my latest reward from Gulliver. He sent me a katana, which unfortunately doesn’t do anything. I remember one of the swords in City Folk would hover in the air when you “used” it, so it’s a bit disappointing that this doesn’t do the same.

I built another snowboy today, and he gave me a DIY recipe for a frozen pillar. Pretty cool.

Later on, I took some black roses over to Adrian’s town of Cancun. Enjoy the roses, Adrian!

At Able Sisters, I bought the Santa coat and Santa beard…in case I need them for Toy Day.

I found a lost book on the ground, and the cover said “xtreme xercises.” This book gets lost more than Rizzo in a rat maze. I asked Louie about it, and he told me it was Tybalt’s book. When I took it over to Tybalt, he gave me an essay set to thank me for returning the book.

When I visited Rizzo, he was talking about a scary banana that tasted like wood, and he also mentioned a talking carrot. I think he’s gone senile. Oh sure, he might claim he was just dreaming, but I don’t believe that for a second!

Rizzo: Tastes like wood...scary banana...never trust a talking carrot... Mmmm.

K.K. Slider was in town, and he played K.K. Bazaar for me. It’s not a bad song. But unfortunately, no other villagers attended the show with me.

When I returned home, I found Louie sitting in my frozen chair, eating a sandwich! What’s the big idea, big guy?

As I shot down a balloon present (which contained 5,000 bells), I noticed northern lights in the sky! This was my first time seeing them in New Horizons, so I found a nearby bridge and took a picture from there. Pretty!

I posted a new video today, featuring more quick comparisons between the main five Animal Crossing games. I hope you’ll check it out!

And if you didn’t see the first part from a couple weeks ago, here’s the link: Quick Comparisons.

Have a great weekend and Happy Holidays! I’ll be back with another entry soon. 🙂

Running with Glowsticks

Yesterday, the Nooklings were paying 127 bells for turnips. I sold them all of my 1,600 turnips for a total of 203,200 bells.

When I made a perfect snowboy, he taught me how to make a frozen chair. I made one and temporarily put it outside of my house. I should be careful not to get stuck to it, though!

Able Sisters had a cute reindeer costume for sale. I couldn’t resist buying it, although I’m not planning on wearing it right now. Maybe I’ll save it for a reiny day.

Back outside, I heard the familiar breezy sound of a balloon present flying overhead. I got my slingshot out and shot it down. My reward was a DIY recipe for an ornament mobile. I haven’t been seeing many of these ornament DIYs yet!

Louie had a treasure hunt for me, but he only gave me three minutes to find the treasure. It took me two and a half minutes to circle around town and eventually find the item up on Eagle Mountain. I returned it to Louie, and he revealed that the treasure was a checkered muffler.

At the plaza, Tia, Tybalt, and Apple were all running around with glow sticks. It was cute!

Midge asked me to deliver a present to Keaton, and I agreed to help out. The item turned out to be a baby chair, and Keaton said it was just his style!

Keaton: Ooh, it's just my style. A real baby chair!

He thanked me by giving me a bath-towel wrap.

Wisp was in town, and I returned his five spirits to him. In return, he graciously gave me an ironing set. I was flattered, and it raised my self-esteam.

Today, Gulliver was washed up on the beach. I dug up his five communicator parts and took them back to him, and he’ll be sending me a gift tomorrow.

The snowboy I built today gave me a DIY recipe for a frozen arch. I made one and used it to update the entrance of my arch enemy.

Able Sisters had some red down pants, so I bought them to match my jacket.

Jeff wears the red down jacket and down pants.

Now I look like a cross between Santa Claus and the Michelin Man.

And as I dug up some black roses, Apple watered them! So she basically just watered a hole. Well thanks anyway, Apple! 😛

Apple waters flowers as I dig them up.

I’ll be back with another entry tomorrow. Hope to see you then!
