Bronze HHA Trophy

I received a letter from the Happy Home Academy today, informing me that my house scored 75,882 points. For topping 70,000 points, they sent me a bronze HHA trophy. I put it in my exercise room for now.

The bronze HHA trophy.

The third fireworks festival was underway at the plaza, and Isabelle gave me a star bopper. This is probably my favorite of the boppers. Several villagers were hanging out there, and Keaton used the boom of the fireworks as cover to tell me that he’s actually shy. 😛

Keaton: I'M ACTUALLY SHY! I OVERCOMPENSATE!
I DON’T BELIEVE YOU!

I scoured the beach and found nine star fragments and one large star fragment. My fragment collection is growing nicely, but I really wish Celeste showed up more often to give me recipes!

Rizzo was standing next to the daily glowing spot. So when I dug up the bells, I buried a pitfall seed in that spot. Rizzo walked away, but it didn’t take long until Lopez walked into it instead.

I went diving in the ocean just long enough to fill up my pockets. I didn’t encounter a scallop, so I just called off the search for the day. It starts to feel like I’m wasting my time if it takes longer than ten minutes. Pascal’s rewards aren’t usually that great, and it’s not like he’s a rare visitor. I’ll find him another time.

After dumping most of my catches in the drop box at Nook’s Cranny, I re-filled my pockets by spending some bells at Redd’s raffle. I got a few handheld fireworks that I’ll save for another day.

As for the big fireworks show going on, I sat on a bench for a while to enjoy the sights and sounds.

I didn’t open my gate tonight, but I plan to do it at least once more on a fireworks night. I may wait until the 30th (two weeks from today), but I’m not sure yet.

Regardless, I did post a new video today, Wi-Fi Moments #10. I hope you enjoy it!

See you next time!

Moai Statue

I was very pleased after opening Gulliver’s letter today. He finally sent me another piece of furniture, and a good one at that: a Moai statue…also known as an Easter Island head. Very cool! Gulliver finally got his head in the game. 🗿

I found ten star fragments and two Leo fragments on the beach today. Not bad, considering I only wished on about three stars last night!

I caught my first brown cicada today. And just a few seconds later, I caught my first grasshopper! That’s two new catches for the museum.

I caught a grasshopper! They're a grass act!

Near Nook’s Cranny, I noticed that someone from last night apparently planted a pink cosmos. Maybe their pockets were full after catching a bug, I don’t know. But whoever it was, let me know soon if you want it back.

Diana the deer was camping out at the campsite today. She’s fairly cute, but she’s also a snooty. So I did not invite her into town. (There aren’t many snooties I would willingly invite into town).

Diana: I wasn't sure what I thought at first, but I tell you...I've really grown to like this place, no doy.

I updated my dream this afternoon, although not a whole lot has changed since the last update. But you can look out for a new “frog race” design on the ground near the start of the frog race. I may not keep it there long though, because I need design spots for something else I have planned.

Later on, I went over to the plaza to check out a song from K.K. Slider. He played Comrade K.K. for me…and for nobody else.

K.K.: Right on. I'm turned up and ready to roll. Who's in the mood for a little Comrade K.K.?

After the show, I went diving for a scallop. It only took me three dives to find one. Pascal showed up, and he told me he knew a bull that ran a successful china shop. 😛

Pascal: I knew a bull once. He ran a real successful china shop. So, don't generalize, maaan. Just...don't.

Pascal gave me a mermaid fishy dress in exchange for the scallop. Why does Pascal have a mermaid fishy dress? Did he take it from a mermaid? Why? I have so many questions. 😉

There was another meteor shower tonight, so I wished on a number of shooting stars. I also decided on a spot for my Moai statue, on the western beach (for now, at least).

Jeff wishes on two shooting stars near the Moai statue in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Have a good night, everyone. The next video should be up tomorrow morning.

Where’s Waldo?

I found Gulliver on the beach today, so I dug up the five pieces of his communicator for him. He’ll be sending me a reward in the mail. I’m hoping it’s not an accessory this time; give me some furniture please!

Here’s the new outfit I mentioned yesterday: Where’s Waldo? 😂

Waldo.

I went diving, and I actually caught two gigas giant clams before I found a single scallop! But I did eventually find the scallop and Pascal, who gave me a DIY recipe for a mermaid dresser.

Midge asked for a new catchphrase, so I told her to change from “or fly away” to “fly with me.”

My slingshot broke, so I crafted a new one. And as I held it up, I spotted a bug on a tree behind me that I otherwise wouldn’t have noticed: A walking stick. I got my net out, caught it, and donated it to the museum.

At 10:00, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. Ryan, Nami, Logan, William, Timo, and Alex from Pawnee showed up. Once everyone was ready, I had them look for me. I was hiding in town, as Waldo. Behind this tree next to the arch, to be specific.

As they were searching, Ryan left, and Alex from A-Nation joined in. About three minutes after the game started, William walked right past me, and I thought he found me. But he didn’t see me, and he kept walking. Nami, Timo, and Logan also walked past me. Nearly eight minutes after starting, Timo fell into a nearby pitfall I had buried. 😛

Nami left, but the search continued. After 11+ minutes, I asked if they gave up yet. Of course my speech bubble gave me away, and Logan was nearby, so he quickly tracked me down. 😛 Congrats, Logan!

We ran a frog race next, and I won my own race! I had home pad advantage.

Jeff enjoys a frog race win.

I don’t know if people are getting tired of the frog race yet, but it is starting to feel a bit stale. I do have two other things planned for this area in the future, but I still need more items and/or recipes. So I may still leave the frog race course up for a while, but I might not use it every week.

After the frog race ended, Nami returned…dressed as a frog. I suggested that we play some museum tag, since we hadn’t done that in a while. Alex was the first seeker, and I was one of the first ones found. I guess my hiding skills diminish indoors. 😉 When I returned to the lobby, I saw that Blathers had other things on his mind.

Blathers: If such was my life, I'd be happy as a clam too.

After some fishy behavior, I was the next to seek. I found four hiders, and then time ran out. Logan was next, and I believe he also found four people. With the five minute time limit we’ve been using, it’s difficult to find everyone. But of course, ten minutes would be too long. 😛

After that, William suggested sumo since he hasn’t played it before. Even though I crafted some pitfall seeds earlier in the day, I had fewer than 20. That might sound like a lot, but it’s not. You go through them quickly when you play sumo.

We played several one-on-one matches: Alex defeated William, the other Alex defeated Logan, Timo beat Nami, and I defeated William. I had just enough pitfalls for one last match, so I suggested all seven of us battle. Just as I was digging the final hole….Ryan returned. 😛

So I invited him to join us for what was now an 8-player sumo match. And wouldn’t you know, he won the match!

Ryan wins an eight-player sumo battle.

Timo left some art on my bulletin board, so thanks Timo! ….I think. 😀

We went to my house for a bit, but William left for the night. Logan was about to leave too, when Ros started to arrive. But as she was entering, we all got disconnected. Since it was already late, I didn’t reopen. But thanks to all who came, I had fun! And sorry Ros that your visit only included the inside of the airport. 😛

After I closed the gate, I found Wisp in town. I collected his five spirits and returned them to him. In return, he gave me some dark parquet flooring.

Look for a new Wi-Fi Moments video at some point this weekend! Never Stop Crossing!
