Tia’s Bug Book

Gulliver sent me a hula doll in the mail, and I put it in the sumo ring for now. She’s preparing to battle against a garden gnome. It’s too bad items can’t be placed diagonally (at least small, single-spaced items like these).

Will Hula Doll skirt around the gnome’s attacks, or will her opponent have gnome-field advantage?

I had a man-faced stink bug placed on the ground outside of Nook’s Cranny (leftover from last night, when I had full pockets). And Tia was examining it today, while consulting a bug book! It was cute!

Because of all the summer recipes that require seashells, I’ve started saving all my seashells in storage for now. I still need quite a few more shells, but I have made a couple of things so far. That includes this shell wreath I made today.

I again encountered the door glitch I mentioned yesterday. But today, it only affected one villager’s house: Agent S. So I was unable to enter her house.

But unlike yesterday, I was able to enter other villagers’ houses. That included Shari’s house, where Shari told me about a weird dream she had.

Shari: So, there was this dinosaur stressing about a mortgage it couldn't pay off in a million years, oh banana.
As a result, Yoshi decided not to pay his taxes.

A few other quick notes about today:

  • Leif was in town, but he didn’t have anything I needed.
  • I again helped Reese & Cyrus on Harv’s island.
  • Midge asked to leave town, but I told her to stay.

There may or may not be an entry tomorrow, but there will be one on Friday. Hope to see you then, if not before. Never Stop Crossing!

Door Glitch, Meme Shirt

Gulliver made a visit to Forest Island today; I found him washed up on the shore. But it seems like he rarely visits any more! I wish he’d show up more often.

Gulliver: Honk-shoo, honk-shoo... Snoring sounds, et cetera...
Very convincing…

I collected his five communicator pieces for him, and he promised to send me a reward in the mail.

As I tried to enter Agent S’s house, I encountered a glitch: I was unable to go inside. I could not interact with the door at all. But I soon learned it wasn’t limited to Agent S’s house, it applied to the houses of Shari and Keaton too…any villager that was home.

As for villagers that weren’t home, everything worked normally: I got the “I’m not home” message if I tried to enter. I tried going into town hall and coming back out to see if that would solve the problem, but it didn’t. So I used “save and end” to go back to the title screen, and then started up again. That didn’t work either, and that’s when I started getting worried.

So I tried exiting out of the game completely…and fortunately, that worked. I was quite relieved!

I shot down a balloon present, and there was a meme shirt inside. I had to see what it looked like, so I tried it on…and I was not disappointed. It shows a cat shooting lasers out of its eyes.

Even my villagers seemed to enjoy it! Tia said it was breezy and fun. 😛

Tia: Your meme shirt is breezy and fun!

I caught a flea that was on Apple, and she…denied that she had fleas. She didn’t even thank me!

Apple: because I've never had fleas, champ. Not even this time.

In other news, Hornsby taught me the shyness reaction. I now have 36 of the 44 reactions, so there’s just a few more to go!

Wedding Photo Plate

I received my photo plate from Reese and Cyrus in the mail today. The funny part is that the instant I put the gift into my pockets, the hourly chimes went off…which sound a bit like wedding bells. 😛 But I wasn’t the only one who got the commemorative plate, because I spotted one in Hornsby’s house as well!

Rizzo the rat taught me the “inspiration” reaction today…that’s the light bulb that goes off over your head. Since that was somewhat nice of him, I decided not to put him into jail just yet. 😉

I learned the inspiration reaction! Eureka!

For some reason, I always think Midge is just so cute when she’s reading. She was reading on the bench right outside her house today. 🥺

In my flower garden, I noticed that my first orange pansy has bloomed.

Over by the jumping pillars, I found a lost item on the ground. I used the “investigate” option, but all it told me was that it was a bag with a simple design, made by hand. How in the world am I supposed to be able to tell who it belongs to just from that?

A bag with simple design. I can tell it was painstakingly made by hand.

I asked Hornsby about it, and he suggested that it may be Tia’s. And sure enough, it was. Tia gave me an instant-muscles suit as my reward for returning the bag.

I then flew out to Harv’s island, where Harvey gave me a DIY recipe for wedding fencing. Reese actually wanted something different today: a chic set. Many of the previous wedding items can be customized with a “chic” setting, so I just spammed some of those items to please Reese.

Several new wallpapers, floorings, and rugs are now available as well. I was particularly interested in the brown wedding flooring, but the reason might surprise you. It’s orange, with brown stripes, and a white stripe down the center…it looks like a top-down version of the Cleveland Browns helmet!

So if I ever make a football or Browns themed room, I’ll probably use it for that! It sounds weird to use a wedding item for a sports room, but it fits!

I’ll have to return at least several more days to buy up all of the wedding items. I really hate the way they dragged out this event, making us repeatedly compete an annoying task day after day just to complete the furniture set. As for the room I designed, well, “designed” is probably not the best verb to use. 😛

A messy chic wedding room.
Take this room, shut up, and give me my crystals!

Flick was in town, so I sold him several wasps and other bugs I caught tonight.

See you next time!
