Squirrel Break

On Sunday morning, I bought 2,400 turnips from Daisy Mae, priced at 94 bells apiece. The total cost was 225,600 bells.

On Sunday night, I helped out Wisp by recovering his spirits. In return, he gave me a bottled beverage.

On Monday, I found my squirrels enjoying some nice beverages of their own on the bench at the plaza. They’re so cute. 🙂

Static, sitting with Agent S on a bench: Hey, it's tater tot! Always a pleasure.
Agent S: Hmm... What should I do tonight?

I bought a simple small dresser and a merchandise table from Jolly Redd, since both were color variations I didn’t have in my catalog.

On Tuesday, I helped out Gullivarrr. He sent me some pirate flooring yesterday.

Today, the Nooklings were paying 131 bells for turnips. I sold enough of my turnips (1,750) to ensure a profit for the week. And I still have 700 left in case the price goes up any further.

Saharah was in town, and I found her on the beach. The odd part is that it looked like she was waving to the ocean! That was odd.

I was surprised by today’s message bottle, because it contained a D.I.Y. recipe I didn’t have yet! It’s for a gold-nugget mining car.

SWEET! I learned a DIY recipe for a gold-nugget mining car!

When I went diving for a Nook Miles+ goal, I caught a scallop. Pascal popped up and started talking about missing socks.

Pascal: Does a missing sock think it's missing? Maybe it just chose the life of adventure, and that's cool.

Even though this dialogue sounded familiar to me, it’s not the same thing that I was thinking of. Yes, that’s right, Pascal has a different bit of dialogue about missing socks (see the other one).

Nose Stuff

On Tuesday, Flo the penguin was camping at the campsite. I think she was trying to sell me some insurance. 😉

Flo: Hey, thanks for stoppin' by. So...is everyone here, like, SUPER friendly?
No.

On Thursday, I really liked the look of the purple clouds behind the purple cat as I gave Bob a sword.

Bob: A sword!

In return, he gave me a maxi shirtdress. Not exactly the best trade for me, but I’m going to spoil Bob regardless. 🙂

It was raining in Forest tonight, and Ankha was enjoying a nice walk. She said she had no idea how refreshing a walk in the rain could be, in a pyramid. Yeah, I guess she wouldn’t even know it was raining from inside a pyramid. 😛 Unless the pyramid had leaks, I suppose.

Ankha: You know, an evening stroll in the rain is surprisingly refreshing. I had no idea, in a pyramid.

Static said that a rainy day like today would be a good time to go in Resident Services and work on a DIY project. Yeah, I remember crafting there early in the game…but I thought this dialogue was outdated. I didn’t think there was still a crafting table once Resident Services got a full building, so I went to check it out. To my surprise, there is still a crafting table! Wow.

Should I craft something using Tom Nook's workbench?

Poor Punchy was sick tonight, and he made it sound a bit grosser than it needed to be.

Punchy: Where'd I leave those tissues? I got a lotta nose stuff that needs to be in those tissues.

I crafted him some medicine, and he started to feel a bit better. He gave me a plain do-rag to say thanks.

K.K. Slider was performing out in the rain tonight, and he played K.K. Ska for me. Three of my shortest villagers joined me for the show.

Static, Agent S, and Ketchup join Jeff for a K.K. Slider concert in the rain.

Here are a few other quick notes about this week:

  • I helped Gulliver on Tuesday, and he sent me a pagoda in the mail.
  • I sold 20 bugs to Flick for 117,450 bells Wednesday.
  • I sold 25 fish to C.J. for 341,700 bells yesterday.
  • Those bug/fish sales pushed my savings balance over 67 million bells.

See you all next time!

Final Fireworks of 2023

Yesterday, Pascal popped up when I found a scallop while diving. His latest words of wisdom were a warning about eating too fast.

Pascal: Biting the inside of your mouth while you eat is your body's say of saying, Slow down, maaan.

Later on, I headed over to Sam’s town of Seattle for another going-away party he was having. I was the first to arrive, but Logan, Jac, Jesse, and Matthew soon joined in as well. We had some net fights, we played around with ocean sunfish (naturally), and we went pole-vaulting around a pond.

Pole vaulting around a rectangular pond in Sam's town.

Sam then led us up to his obstacle course, which I mentioned back in April. But he made some changes to the rules: The player on the yellow moon has to turn on the red, purple, blue, and 2nd yellow stars, while picking up purple star fragments. The player on the blue moon must turn on the 1st yellow, green, white, and pink stars, while picking up red star fragments. Um…what???

Jeff: omg. Logan: Hopefully I can remember.
Why not just use one color for each player?? 😛

I beat Logan on the first run, but his pockets were full, so Sam called that a technicality…even though I made room in my pockets before the race when I saw my pockets were full and Logan didn’t. 😛 So my win didn’t count, but that was enough for me. 😛 Sam decided to simplify the rules, and he beat Matthew in the next race.

Nicky came over, and most of us turned into King Tut for a while. Once we had our fill of falling on our faces, we headed up to the Roost for some coffee. I was a pirate, for no apparent reason. And of course, they scolded me for drinking too early. 😛

Drinking coffee at the Roost.
Arrr, pirates be thirsty sailin’ the salty seas!

After that, we went outside and gathered for a group photo under the fireworks. Of course, this was the last fireworks festival of 2023.

A group photo in Sam's town during the fireworks festival.

Shortly after that, Sam ended the session. Thanks for the good time, everyone! And good luck on your adventures, Sam!

Tonight, K.K. Slider was in town, and he performed K.K. Parade for me. Midge, Punchy, and Ankha were also there to enjoy the show.

K.K. Slider performs for Midge, Jeff, Ankha, and Punchy.

Even though I (again) forgot to buy turnips yesterday, I at least picked up my 30 free ones from the hospital on Lottie’s HHP island.
