50 Million Bells

On Sunday morning, I bought some turnips from Daisy Mae. She was selling them for 93 bells apiece, and I bought 3,100 turnips from her. On Monday, I got another 100 bells from Lottie’s Island (if you know, you know).

When I crafted some a pot, Rio came running–literally running–into the castle! I guess she really likes pot. I mean… pots. 😛

I made a pot!

This week, I got a katana from Gulliver and a kitchen counter from Wisp.

Today, the Nooklings were paying 183 bells for turnips, which was nearly double what I paid for them. So I sold my 3,200 turnips for a whopping total of 585,600 bells.

Timmy: And done! I can buy these from you for a total of 585,600 bells. Sound good?

It was nice to finally make some progress towards my turnip achievement, and my total profit is up to 1.4 million bells. Unfortunately, I still need 8.6 million bells in profit to complete it. It’s going to take a while.

When I took my latest profits to the bank, I was surprised to see that it was almost precisely the right amount I needed to kick my balance up to 50 million bells! I literally had just 194 bells to spare, that’s how close it was!

Savings Balance: 50,000,000 bells.

The 50 million in savings is my third-highest bank total in the series, and just about three million short of my City Folk total. (It’ll probably surpass that total within a month or so.)

Sasha was talking about how much he loves riding in cars…and he hinted at why he’s not allowed drive any more. 😛

Sasha: A HUH HUH HUH HUH! SCREEEeeeEEEeeeEEECH! OUTTA MY WAY, MAAAAAAN!

Can you picture a car driving by real fast, and looking over and seeing Sasha in the driver’s seat? It’s a scary thought to imagine. 😉

I hope you’re all enjoying the first week of 2023! See you all again soon! 🙂

Welcoming 2023

Today is New Year’s Eve, and there is still no sign of a 2023 celebratory arch in Nook Shopping. New Leaf has a dozen of the zodiac animals that are given out on New Year’s Day, and City Folk still has a unique shirt for every year through 2035. So it’s more than a bit odd that these arches seem to have stopped after just two years. They should’ve been programmed into the game from the start, to be honest.

Anyway, I put on my tuxedo and headed over to the plaza. Tom Nook gave me some party poppers, and I also bought an aqua New Year’s silk hat from him. Isabelle then gave me a light stick. However, I was a bit early for the party…so I just took a photo before putting my Switch into sleep mode.

04:23:23 until 2023

I returned before midnight, and I watched the ceremony as the clock struck twelve and 2023 began with a bang.

LOL3! Ew Yec!
(I hate those loopy 2s.)

I particularly enjoyed these colorful fireworks, which appeared immediately after the “Happy New Year” message and the giant 2023.

Five very colorful fireworks explode behind Resident Services in ACNH.

My villagers all wished me a happy new year, and they’re looking forward to 2023 for some reason. 😛

Bones: Happyyy New Year! It's 2023 starting today! That's pretty cool!

I also enjoyed the fireworks from several other spots around town.

I hope you all have a happy, successful, healthy, and enjoyable 2023! 🙂

Note #1: Gullivarrr sent me a pirate dress in the mail earlier in the week. Ah, just what I never wanted. 😛

Note #2: I also enjoyed the New Year’s Eve festivities in New Leaf and City Folk tonight. If you’re interested, you can check out those entries here: NYE in ACNLNYE in ACCF

Toy Day, Punchy’s Photo

Saturday was Christmas Eve, and I decided to participate in the Toy Day activities. I found Jingle hanging out behind Resident Services.

Jingle: Ho ho how's your Toy Day going so far? I hope it's merry as can be!

He told me that he needed wrapping paper before presents could be delivered. So I shook some decorated cedar trees, collected the required ornaments, and crafted three sheets of festive wrapping paper. When I gave them to Jingle, he rewarded me with some Toy Day stockings.

Jingle then gave me a magic bag full of presents; it was time for me to deliver gifts to my villagers! I visited Bones first, but he was sitting down and he needed to stand up to be able to receive a gift. However, he didn’t stand up! Over and over, he said he needed to stand, and I gave him room to stand. But he didn’t stand up…until I gave up and left his house. I then re-entered and gave him the gift. 😛

Bones: For who? For me? A gift? From Santa?

I delivered gifts from Santa to all ten of my villagers, and then I returned to Jingle. He took the magic bag back, and he rewarded me with a Toy Day sleigh. Even though my villagers also wanted to exchange gifts with me, I stopped at that point. Christmas Eve can be a busy time (irl). But it was nice to deliver gifts at least once, and just to participate in the event. 🙂

Yesterday, I had Maelle the ugly duckling as my camper. I was not interested in inviting her to town.

Maelle: Oh, thank you for stopping by. I don't believe we've met. I'm Maelle.

K.K. Slider was in town last night (a day later than usual), and he performed K.K. Western for me and Rio.

Today, Gullivarrr was in town and I retrieved his communicator for him. He’ll send me a gift in the mail.

I wrapped up a rattan vanity and gave it to Punchy. In return, he surprised me by giving me his photo!

Punchy: Here, man! It's Punchy's photo! Enjoy, oh banana!

I’ve now earned photos of all of my current villagers! Yay! 😊 I took Punchy’s pic home and displayed it in my villager photo room. His favorite quote, on the back of the photo, is “There’s always more fish in the sea!” 🐟🐠🐡🦈

Happy holidays! I’ll see you all again later this week. 🙂
