Ankha’s House

Last Friday, I removed the blue pansies that were around Hornsby’s former home, and planted some gold roses in honor of Forest’s new golden cat, Ankha.

Ankha's yard, complete with gold roses.

I also stopped inside to take a look at her tomb home. She has a pyramid in here, which really takes up most of the room. She also has three golden caskets, and a few other golden items as well…including a golden, uh, “throne.”

Sunday was the Lunar New Year, and all of my villagers wished me a happy new (lunar) year. Indirectly, in some cases. 😛

Static: It's Lunar New Year today! So, here's to the moon havin' a nice new year!

On Monday night, I found a burglar hanging out around Marina’s house! At least, that’s what I thought…but it was just Ankha wearing her winter hat. 😛 Some of these animals (cats, in particular) look so different with their ears tucked into hats.

Ankha: So good to see you, me meow.

Yesterday, Phil was camping at the campsite…and I was not interested. Sorry, Phil, but town is phull. I mean full.

Phil, at the campsite: Ahoy. Phil is my name, and traveling, fixing things, and dance are my passions three.

Tonight, Kicks had his shop set up at the plaza, selling shoes, socks, and bags. Even though I didn’t do any business with him tonight, I saw him there as I exited Resident Services and headed up the ramp. So imagine my surprise minutes later, when I found him drinking coffee at the Roost!

Kicks, at the Roost: 'Allo, chum! Taking a breather, eh?
Me? What about you? I just saw you at the plaza!

I returned to the plaza to see if he was there too, but his stand was gone. Apparently he closes up shop at 10 p.m. and heads over to the Roost. That timing was pretty funny, though. 😆

Here are a few quick notes about recent visitors:

  • Gullivarrr sent me another pirate bandanna last Friday.
  • K.K. performed K.K. Break for me on Saturday.
  • Wisp gave me a first-aid kit on Sunday.

Also, I’m tentatively planning on having Friday Night Forest on February 3rd (a week from Friday). If you’re on my roster, please check the blog next week for any news or confirmation.

See you all next time!

Ankha’s Arrival

Yesterday, Rio told me she had an extra eggshell, and she wanted me to buy it for 728 bells.

Rio: Hey, Jeff! I just got an eggshell, and there's a problem!

Ostrich eggs are pretty big, so I thought it was a shell of a good deal. 😉 I bought it and put it on…and now I feel like one of Rio’s baby chicks. 😛

At the site of Hornsby’s old home, I saw the plot claimed by Ankha.

This spot reserved Ankha's new home. -Nook Inc.
She’ll be here tomb-morrow.

Wisp was in town, so I gathered up his spirits for him. In return, he gave me a thick-stripes shirt.

Today was Ankha’s moving-in day, so I made sure to drop in and say hello. 🙂

Ankha: I, too, have been beside myself with excitement ever since you invited me to move here at the campsite.

Static and Marina were warming by a campfire in front of Resident Services, so I joined them for a bit. I just hope Marina doesn’t dry out…and cook.

AC = Accidental Calamari?

Gullivarrr was in town today, and I retrieved his communicator for him. He’ll send me a reward in the mail tomorrow.

Rhino to Go

Last Friday, I did not play New Horizons…at all. That was the first day I’ve completely missed since the game was released nearly three years ago.

On Saturday, I sold my turnips from Lottie’s Island. The Nooklings only paid me 47 bells apiece for them, but they were free, after all. The good news is that I can finally confirm that free turnips from Lottie’s Island do count towards your Nook Miles achievement goals! 😎

On Sunday night, I told K.K. Slider I was feeling grumpy. So he tried to cheer me up with a performance of Go K.K. Rider.

K.K.: Feelin' dullsville, Jeff? This will put some pep in your step: Go K.K. Rider!

Tonight, I was surprised to see Ankha at the campsite. She was my original GameCube islander, and I’ve always liked her a lot…despite her snooty personality. (She is my favorite snooty.)

Ankha: Oh, thank you for stopping by. I don't believe we've met. I'm Ankha.

In New Leaf, Ankha has visited my campsite at least five times…but my town has been full every single one of those times. Of course, that’s not a problem in New Horizons, with the ability to kick someone out. But you don’t control who leaves. Still, I thought I’d give it a try just to see… and Ankha told me that Hornsby was willing to go!

Ankha: You know, at Resident Services, they suggested that Hornsby might cooperate with my plan.

I like Hornsby, and he’s been my buddy since the GameCube game, schnozzle. 😉 But he’s been in ACNH Forest for almost three years (since April 2020), which is quite a long stay. Not to mention, I still have him in New Leaf too. So even though I don’t like forcing villagers out, this is a rare occurrence where all of my conditions lined up.

So I went to say goodbye to Hornsby. It’s been nice having you around, buddy! Good luck in your new town, wherever that may be!

Hornsby: And I'm gonna go have an adventure!

I’ll be back with another entry once Ankha moves in. Have a great day!
