MVP of Turkey Day

On Sunday, I found Lucha the bird camping out at the campsite. But I wasn’t interested in wrestling with another villager (or throwing anyone out of the ring town).

Lucha, at the campsite: Hey, you're a local, right? The name's Lucha.

Wisp was in town, and I returned his spirits to him. He gave me a flower tabletop mirror to thank me.

Today was Turkey Day, and I found Franklin the chef at the plaza.

Franklin: I'm Franklin, professional chef extraordinaire. Nook Inc. hired me to come and cook for everyone.

He asked me to fetch some local ingredients for his food, but I stopped to speak with my villagers first. Most of them were hanging out at the plaza, just waiting for some food to arrive. Static said he prepared for the event by emptying his stomach.

Static: I prepped by emptyin' out some space in my stomach, so I'm ready to eat till the eatin's done.
Excuse me?!

Most of Franklin’s needed ingredients were things I already in storage, so making the four dishes was surprisingly easy for me. Here’s the full list of what he made:

  • clam chowder (from three manila clams)
  • pumpkin pie (from an orange pumpkin and a green pumpkin)
  • gratin (from a flat mushroom and a potato)
  • meuniΓ¨re (from a sea bass and a dab)
Franklin: Let's get cooking!

Franklin rewarded me with a Turkey Day rug, Turkey Day wall, Turkey Day flooring, and a cornucopia.

But of course, there was the option to improve the dishes by adding some secret ingredients. So I began helping out the few villagers who remained home to cook. By fulfilling their ingredient requests, we can get other ingredients in return.

Sasha: This is boring. I'm stuck at the part where I'm supposed to put in the oyster, in the grass.

They’ll also provide tips on what secret ingredients I may need. The pumpkin pie secret ingredient was easy enough: It was just the other two colors of pumpkins. But the other three secret ingredients eluded me for quite a while. I wasn’t having any luck catching them myself, but Rio eventually provided me with all three of them: a Dungeness crab, a scallop, and a barred knifejaw!

Rio: I hope this Dungeness crab helps you as much as you've helped me, li'l chick.

Rio is the true MVP of Turkey Day! I couldn’t have done this without her!

Celebrating all dishes made perfectly.

For tracking down all of the secret ingredients, Franklin rewarded me with some Turkey Day wheat decor, Turkey Day decorations, a Turkey Day table, and a Turkey Day hearth. And with that, my Turkey Day was complete. πŸ¦ƒ

I hope you all had a good Turkey Day (and/or Thanksgiving)! I’ll be back with another blog entry probably on Saturday.

Punchy’s Coffee

On Thursday, I shot down a balloon present and found a D.I.Y. recipe for a tree’s bounty arch. Surprisingly, that’s one that I didn’t have yet!

SWEET! I learned a DIY recipe for a tree's bounty arch!

Gullivarrr was in town, and I went diving to find his communicator. He thanked me by sending another pirate’s hat in the mail yesterday.

I found my newest neighbor Punchy enjoying some coffee at the Roost for the first time. It’s nice to see him enjoying Forest life. πŸ™‚

Punchy: I don't usually like bitter stuff, but this coffee is a special not-as-bitter one from Brewster. He's such a pro!

Today, I found Ketchup sleeping in her house. She was dreaming about talking to a beetle on a spaceship. πŸͺ²πŸ›Έ

Ketchup: Mnn...hey there, Mr. Beetle...zzz... what are you doing...zzz...on this spaceship...wah? Huh?

I attended K.K. Slider’s show tonight, and he performed Neapolitan for me. Rio, Agent S, and Sasha were also at the concert.

K.K.: Right on. I'm tuned up and ready to roll. Who's in the mood for a little Neapolitan?

The harvest festival Turkey Day is coming up next Thursday, and my villagers are already looking forward to the event…and the food. πŸ™‚

Sasha: Guess what! The happiest, snackiest day of the whole year in coming! Turkey Day!

I might participate on Thursday, but I’m not 100% sure yet. Regardless, I’ll see you all again soon! πŸ™‚

Curtain Partition

On Saturday night, I had Bran and Beth over for a few more vaulting pole races. (I needed more race footage for a video.) They raced three times, with Bran winning twice and Beth once.

Afterwards, they shopped, and then we went over to the plaza for K.K. Slider’s performance of Forest Life.

K.K. Slider performs for Bran, Jeff, and Beth.

I later posted the video of some vaulting pole races. Check it out!

On Monday, I bought this curtain partition at Nook’s Cranny. It can be closed or open (slightly), as you can see here.

Jeff peeks through the curtain partition in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Peek-a-boo.

It’s a pretty cool item, and I can imagine hiding a skeleton or other spooky items behind it around Halloween. Or it could be funny to use it with some of the naked statues. πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

Agent S asked me to catch a carp for her, and I agreed to help. It took me a bit longer than I hoped (mainly because I was looking in the river at first, not ponds), but I did eventually track one down. Agent S then rewarded me with another copy of her photo. πŸ™‚

New Horizons got a new (minor) update recently, so I checked to see if they patched the glitch that lets us enter a bathtub (or an outdoor bath, which I recently installed on a cliff). Fortunately, the glitch still works. πŸ™‚

Glitching into the outdoor bath.

As of today, maple leaves can now be seen floating around town. You can also catch some of them and use them for crafting.

This maple leaf is such a pretty red. It's like the exact color of fall!

The Nooklings were paying 201 bells for turnips tonight, so I sold what I had (only 30 of them). I also let Xavier come over and sell his turnips as well.

Punchy was wearing my “Where’s Waldo?” hat, and I’m not a fan of how it looked on him. Let him have his ears!

Punchy: Guess what? I'm making lunch all by myself. Isn't that AMAZING?!

If you’re wondering, he was cooking some apple jelly; I didn’t need the recipe.

I later crafted my first forest flooring, I bought some coffee at the Roost, and I did some Nook Miles+ grinding before wrapping up my game for the night. πŸ™‚

See you all next time! πŸ™‚
