Angling for Perfection

Yesterday, Apollo told me he was thinking of moving away.

Apollo: Livin' on this island ain't bad, but I've been thinkin' I might just pull up stakes here and move.

Even though I like Apollo a lot, I decided to let him go. He has had a nice year-and-a-half stay in town, and he celebrated two birthdays here in that span. Also, I have him in City Folk as well, so I’ll still see him in that game.

Gullivarrr was in town, so I went diving to find his communicator. I found it on my first dive, and I returned it to him. He ended up sending me another sea captain’s coat today.

The Bug-Off was held today, and I competed in one (and only one) round. I caught nine bugs, which was good for a total of 11 points. I sold my bugs to Flick for 4,650 bells.

Flick: Well done. You earned 11 points!

I then redeemed my points for a termite mound and a bug wand.

Later, I went to say goodbye to my buddy Apollo. I’m sure he’ll launch to a new town and make a great landing there.

Apollo: Oh man... Movin' is so excitin', but packin' is the worst.

I plan on scanning my Rio amiibo tomorrow (since I already scanned her twice back in April). So I’ll finally be able to get her. But there is another benefit to getting a new villager: It means Beardo will no longer be the newest villager in town. That will make him eligible to move out! Can’t wait to make that happen!

I went fishing for a bit, and catching a clown fish earned me 3,000 Nook Miles…because it was my 5,000th fish caught! My “Angling for Perfection” achievement is now complete!

I will be back again tomorrow with another entry! Hope to see you then!

Tomato Festival Tee

On Monday, Beardo told me he was jealous of how cool I looked in my DJ KK logo tee. His jealous promptly turned into rage, and he even raised his leg as he prepared to attack!

Beardo: Now the jealousy is turning into awe...with just a hint of rage. ARRRRGHH!

Fortunately, I had some bear tranquilizers with me to use on the aggressive bear. He’ll be out for days, with a case of premature hibernation.

A new seasonal item is available for purchase through Nook Shopping, a Tomato Festival tee. From what I’ve heard, it could be the last new item we get (barring another update, of course). I ordered it Monday, and it arrived yesterday.

When I visited Ketchup, she said she had something that would go perfect with my outfit: a skateboarding helmet. And it actually did match the shirt, so I decided to keep it on.

Jeff wears a tomato festival tee and a red skateboarding helmet.
Name a more tomato-y duo, I’ll wait.
You’ll never ketchup to us.

Today, I dug up a fossil and my shovel broke. So I went to chop some wood, and of course, my axe then broke too.

Oh no! Thank you for your service, faithful axe...

It was one of those days, as I also broke my net and fishing rod later. Four broken tools in one day, yikes. 😛

Out on Lottie’s Island, I found this camouflaged froggy chair for sale at Paradise Planning. A deal this good is hard to find. 😉

It says it costs 1,100 Poki for a froggy chair.
Camofrog? Is that you?

I’m closing in on a couple of Nook Miles achievements that have been a long time coming. Perhaps I’ll have some news on at least one of them in the next entry. See you again soon!

Sunday Night Fireworks 2022

At about 7:04 p.m., I opened my gate for Sunday Night Fireworks. But twice, I got disconnected when Alec tried to join. But the third try was the charm, as Beth, Alec, and Logan came over. We headed over to the plaza, and Isabelle gave me a flower bopper to wear.

Isabelle: You'll shine as bright as the fireworks in the sky while wearing your flower bopper.

We went up to my moon-viewing area to watch some fireworks…and fall into some holes.

After some more fun with handheld fireworks, we headed over to the space race. Logan was on “brb,” so Alec and Beth raced against each other. However, Alec missed one of the thrusters, so he had to go back for it. That allowed Beth to rocket ahead into a pretty big lead and she won the race. Congrats, Beth!

After a brief (but unsuccessful) search for Logan, we decided to just play some sumo. Beth defeated Alec, and then I defeated Beth.

Logan magically appeared around this time. He beat me, and then lost to Alec. So all four of us finished with one win and one loss! I’m tempted to say that’s pretty odd…but it’s actually pretty even! âš–

After the matches, we all fell into the remaining pitfalls just for fun. 😛

We then had a 10-minute diving competition, and it was really close! Beth won with 22 catches, I had 21, Alec had 20, and Logan had 19.

Logan left around 8:40, and the rest of enjoyed the fireworks…while napping.

I closed my gate about 5-10 minutes later. Thanks to everyone who came, it was fun!
