Pizza on a Cake?

Last Sunday, I again attended the fireworks festival. This time, Isabelle gave me a bulb bopper. I put it on, sat down, and enjoyed the fireworks for a while. πŸ™‚

Enjoying the fireworks in Forest with Isabelle, Ketchup, June, Bones, Ankha, and Redd.

Ketchup was so sick on Monday that her skin was as red as a tomato! I gave her some medicine, and she started to feel better right away. She rewarded me with some bunny ears.

Ketchup: Thanks for bringing me medicine... It's kind of like a healing potion from a video game!
Don’t be silly, Ketchup. Video games aren’t real like you and me!

On Wednesday, Merengue was asking me about my favorite food. She was asking if it was still pizza, but she phrased it rather awkwardly. πŸ˜›

Merengue: When you think foods, are you really thinking about pizza, on a cake?
No, not on a cake. πŸ•

Today, I did something I haven’t done in almost two years: I went to work at Paradise Planning (in the Happy Home Paradise DLC). I saw that Cephalobot was outside, so I asked him about building him a vacation home. Of course, he was interested, and his ideal theme was “My Other Home,” which didn’t tell me much. But his must-have items were all gears and mechanical items.

My Other Home: Cephalobot

I picked him out a deserted rocky island in the southwest corner of the map. I gave him a couple of large tanks, a science pod, a flying saucer, and a few tin robots to keep him company. (The game was also recommending space items, so maybe he’s an alien robotic octopus?)

The outside of Cephalobot's vacation home for Happy Home Paradise, featuring tanks and a science pod.

Indoors, I started out with his required items, but I also added a strategic meeting table, a cold sleep pod, an amazing machine, a couple of crew member’s seats, some gears, and an upright speaker. For the floor and walls, I used some circuit-board flooring and a sci-fi wall. I set the gears in motion and took a photo.

He enjoyed the house, and Lottie paid me 20,000 Poki for my work. I immediately headed over to the hospital, where I donated the full 20k towards their expansion. Unfortunately, they still need 49,000 Poki…so the expansion still won’t be done anytime soon. πŸ˜›

Here are a few other quick notes from this week:

  • I gathered up Wisp’s spirits on Sunday, and he gave me a shopping cart in return.
  • On Tuesday, I helped out Gulliver. He sent me another samurai wig.
  • Static was sick on Thursday. I gave him some medicine, and he handed me a happi tee.
  • The same day, I returned a lost book to Agent S. She rewarded me with a baseball uniform.
  • Tonight, K.K. Slider performed K.K. Country for me and Louie.

I’ll see you all next time!

Ugly Campers

Last Saturday, I found one of my mortal koala enemies (not Yuka, though) at the campsite. It was Eugene, and he was not welcome in my town! This wasn’t even his first time camping here, so I may need to take some extreme measure to dispose of him…or his body. πŸ˜›

Eugene, at the campsite: You know, there's nothing like Forest in summer...

Bones was celebrating his birthday on Sunday, and I made sure to attend his party. (Well, one of his parties. I didn’t play in Wild World on Sunday.) I gave him some hanging stage lights for his gift, and he seemed to enjoy it.

Bones, at his birthday party: Boss, I gotta tell ya, thanks so much for the present! Today's been just the best, ya know?

Our buddy Bob was also at the party, and he was having a great time too!

Bob, at Bones's birthday party: A huh huh huh, I sure do love birthday parties.
No offense to Bob, but “a huh huh huh” needs to be banned as dialogue in future Animal Crossing games. πŸ˜›

Sunday was also the day of the first fireworks festival of the year. At the plaza, Isabelle gave me a flower bopper.

Isabelle: You'll shine as bright as the fireworks in the sky while wearing your flower bopper.

Agent S then gave me a sparkler, so I set it off while I enjoyed the fireworks for a few moments.

I set off a sparkler during the fireworks festival in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Thursday, Pascal popped up to ask me for a scallop I caught. He said that stars and planets are floating in space, but he wondered what space is floating in. Good question.

Pascal: Sure, the stars and planets are floating in space, but what's SPACE floating in?

Today, I had another unwanted camper. It was Katt the cat, who was camping here for the third time! Why do these ugly villagers not get the message and keep haunting me? πŸ˜›

Katt, at the campsite: Oh! Uh...know anyone who'd be interested?

After I put some money into the bank, my savings account balance reached 95 million bells…with 52 bells to spare. πŸ˜› I’m getting close to 100k!

Savings Balance: 95,000,000 bells.

Here are a few other quick notes about the past week:

  • Last Saturday, K.K. Slider performed “Spring Blossoms” for me, Agent S, Static, Ankha, and Merengue.
  • On Monday, I sold 29 fish to C.J. for 424,125 bells.
  • I helped out Gullivarrr on Wednesday, and he sent me a pirate-ship helm.
  • I sold 23 bugs to Flick on Thursday, and he paid me exactly 177,000 bells.

Enjoy your weekend, and I’ll see you next time!

Bugs, Birthdays, and Don

The Bug-Off was held last Saturday, and I participated (but just in one round). I caught 11 bugs in the three-minute time limit, with the last one being a long locust I caught with three seconds remaining. As time expired, my net promptly exploded in my hands. πŸ˜›

Bug-Off is over!

Flick confirmed that my 11 bugs netted me 13 points. I used ten of those points to score a butterfly backpack.

It was also Ketchup’s birthday, so I made sure to attend her party. Louie was also there to help her celebrate. I gave Ketchup some stacked bags that I customized to be green. Happy birthday, Ketchup!

Ketchup: Some stacked bags! I just KNEW you'd get me something great! I'll take good care of it!

On Monday, I found a scallop while diving…and of course, Pascal popped up to ask for it. He then questioned why flower beds are called “beds” when the flowers seem awake to him. 🀷

Pascal: Ever wonder why they call it a flower bed? They always seem real awake to me.

Tuesday, Ankha told me she chooses her perfume based on the weather. So she said that she smells like apple, in her tomb. I’m not sure any of that makes sense, because the weather wasn’t apple-ing outside.

Ankha: For example, today I smell like apple, in my tomb.

On Wednesday, June kidnapped me and took me to her house. She, Static, and Ketchup had a surprise birthday party for me.

Everyone: Happy birthday!

I blew out my candles, smacked a piΓ±ata, got some birthday cupcakes, and received a gift (some birthday candles). Thanks, June, Ketchup, and Static!

Having fun at my birthday party with Ketchup, June, and Static.

Today, I saw Don in the Roost. He said taking a cup of coffee for the road is great, except that he usually ends up spilling it if he’s with Sonny (aka Resetti).

Don: But when we get the call and I'm with Sonny? There's a 98 percent chance I'm spillin' that coffee.
Don: On account of him flippin' out and spillin' it for me! So maybe drinkin' it here is best, actually.

Here are a few other quick notes from the past week:

  • K.K. Slider performed K.K. Chorinho for me on Sunday.
  • K.K. also showed up Wednesday to play K.K. Birthday.
  • Label wanted to see me in an outdoorsy outfit today, and she gave me a music-fest shirt as an example. I kept the clothes I was already wearing, but added a baseball cap. Label liked it, but it wasn’t perfect. She gave me a Labelle hat.
Label: Oh, wow! You've really captured the outdoorsy look. Even the details are on point.

I recently posted a new video looking at some co-exclusive features in the Animal Crossing series. In other words, features that appeared in two games, but not the others. Each pair of games has something in common. Check it out!

See you next time!
