First FNF of 2022

Yesterday was Sasha’s birthday, and I made sure to attend his birthday party. I gave him a baby panda that I bought at Nook’s Cranny, and he seemed to appreciate it.

Sasha, at his birthday party: How'd ya know I really wanted one?! Thank you so much!

Bones was also at the party to help Sasha celebrate, and he always looks so cute when he gets dressed up.

Bones: The star of the day is Sasha!

In the mail, I found a letter from Gulliver. He sent me a hula doll.

Today, Sasha sent me a thank-you note in the mail. He even sent me his photo along with it! That’s the 2nd one he has given me.

At 10:00 tonight, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. That’s the first FNF of 2022, believe it or not! I last opened my gate on New Year’s Eve. Bran came over, and I showed him my castle and then gave him a quick walkthrough of my space race. Since no one else joined in yet, we raced against each other. I won, but it was a close race!

We visited a few villagers and then did some diving. At one point, we were both chasing the same fast-moving sea creature. We followed it halfway across town, and I eventually caught it. It was a gigas giant clam.

I got a gigas giant clam! It's kind of a big deal.

Xavier and Jac joined in, and I showed them the space race. They raced against each other, and Xavier won (because Jac missed a thruster and had to go back). Xavier and Bran then raced, and Xavier won again when Bran missed the space shuttle. 😛 I kinda hate that the races seem to be determined by technicalities. I wonder if I should remove the tasks (other than grabbing and returning the moss). Any thoughts?

Around 11:15, William came over and I showed everyone my AC museum castle. The wet suit in the New Leaf section is a new addition that wasn’t in my original video.

We then headed over to the relocated sumo ring for a five-player sumo match. I surprised myself by actually winning! 😮 We played another round, and this time, Xavier won.

I have to say, I’m pretty pleased with the new location. It’s right in view of the “Welcome to Forest” sign, and the waterfall backdrop is pretty cool too.

Rodney joined in, and since we had six people now, we just had to play a round of 6-player sumo. This time, William won…even though Xavier got pushed outside of the ring without falling into a pitfall. 😂

Rodney shocked everyone by saying that he earned Nook Miles for falling into the pitfall. That meant that was his first time falling into a pitfall! How is that even possible when he’s visited my town several times before? 😛 But congrats on the miles, Rodney!

We spent the rest of the time mainly in three places: Ketchup’s house, the castle, and the beach. We talked about Animal Crossing, video games in general, arcades, and a few other topics. Bran left before 12:30, and I decided to end the session a few minutes after that. Thanks to everyone who came! I had a good time! 🙂

Enjoy your weekend, and I’ll be back with another blog entry tomorrow.

Stamp Rally 2022

Wisp gave me a stepladder on Sunday night for recovering his spirits. Unfortunately, you can’t use it to climb up a cliff. (Yes, I actually tried it.) 😛

On Monday, I met up with Joan at the hospital. She gave me free turnips again, but only 30 of them this time.

Joan: There you are--30 turnips!
She’s going to wonder why I keep following her to the hospital every Monday. Hope she doesn’t think I’m stalking her.

The Nooklings were paying 129 bells for turnips, so I sold them for about 24k. I guess this is one way to slowly eat away at my turnip deficit.

Label was at the plaza yesterday, and she wanted to see me in a sporty outfit. So I put on a basketball tank, basketball shorts, basketball shoes, and a football helmet. 😂 Label loved the look, and she rewarded me with some Labelle sneakers.

Today, the museum began its annual Stamp Rally in honor of International Museum Day. Each exhibit at the museum has three stamp stations where you can get your card stamped.

Sitting on a bench at this fountain... is about as classy as it gets.

When you complete a card, you can return it to Blathers for a reward (a plaque). There are a total of four rewards, and I collected all four of them today. Even though you can get them again each day through the end of May, I probably won’t do it again. 😛

Blathers: To think you've enjoyed the Stamp Rally to such a degree! I can't help but puff my feathers with pride!

But I did learn something new about the museum! You know how there are blue circles to stand on in the fossil exhibit, where the camera can shift for a different view? I don’t think I ever noticed the blue circle upstairs by the doorway in the main fossil room. So I caught this cool view of a T-rex and a triceratops.

Down on the beach, in the area designated for displaying lunar moss, I found Gulliver. Kind of appropriate, since he used to be a life form from another world himself. 😛

I dug up the pieces of his communicator and returned them to him.

The recycle box at Resident Services had two blue Moroccan walls today. I wonder who recycled two of the same wallpaper? 😛

Just to confirm, I do plan on hosting Friday Night Forest this week, at 10 p.m. Eastern time for anyone on my roster. I have a ton of extra recipes I’ve had sitting around for months, mostly cooking recipes and 2.0 items. Whatever isn’t taken on Friday is going into the trash. 😛

Cowboy Beardo

Able Sisters had cowboy shirts for sale today, and I bought a blue one for Beardo. It’s one of the rare times that I actually gave a gift to him, but he was quite happy with it. 😂

Beardo: Thanks, Jeff! I'm pretty

At the plaza later on, Bones seemed to know what I’ve been up to lately!

Bones: Ohmigosh! Are you blasting off for the moon, buddy?!
I guess the space suit gave it away. 😛

As you can see, K.K. Slider was in town for his usual Saturday night concert. I had a special request, but I think he misunderstood…

K.K.: Right on, let's get this show started. Goin' out to Jeff, it's Horrible Death time.

That request was supposed to go out to Beardo! 💀 Oh well. K.K. played one of his “error” songs, and it was pretty good. It’s nice to hear something different for a change.

Peaches was camping at the campsite. And something about her just doesn’t look right in New Horizons; I think it’s those cross-shaped eyes. They looked okay in the older games, but they really stand out more (in a bad way) in high-definition.

Speaking with Peaches at the campsite.

At the museum, I donated the graceful painting I got from Jolly Redd, and it was the real deal!

Graceful Painting - May 14th, 2022 - Donated by Jeff

I only need one more painting to complete the museum!! Unless it takes me more than 9 months to get that last one, this will be the quickest I’ve completed the museum in any game. Redd’s stand on Harv’s Island has helped immensely.

Trivia: I only need one more painting in Wild World, too! (Not the same painting, though.) Imagine how crazy that would be if I completed both museums on the same day. 😂 Unlikely, sure, but not impossible.

Later on, I headed out to Lottie’s Island to work a shift at Paradise Planning. Gayle the pink alligator wanted a vacation home where she can feel the prairie winds.

She insisted on a pergola outdoors, and I also added a windmill, a kids’ tent, a couple of triangular topiaries, a hammock, a hay bed, and some of the other recommended items. I made her house pink to match her skin.

Indoors, I used a meadow vista wallpaper, wildflower meadow flooring, and an assortment of wooden furniture. When possible, I customized the wood to be pink. It’s simple, but I like how it came out. It’s a cute little home.

Back at the office, Lottie paid me 15,000 Poki for the job. She then told me Wardell went out for a walk. I found him sitting on a log on the northern beach, where he was once before. He taught me some new soundscapes that mimic the sounds of cities and forests.

I hope you’re all having a good weekend. See you next time!
