Art Poster

Yesterday, Blathers sent me a commemorative framed art poster in the mail (as my reward for completing the art collection). He said that the posters will be available for purchase at the museum now.

Esteemed Jeff, In celebration of the completion of our museum's collection, I hope you will accept this commemorative framed art poster. These are now available for purchase, so let me know if you'd like more! -Forest Museum, Blathers

I hung it up in my main room. It shows most (if not all?) of the art in the game.

My new art poster.

The Nooklings were paying 127 bells for turnips, so I sold my 30 turnips for 3,810 bells.

Beth came over and I gave her a tour of my island. As she checked out my free D.I.Y. area, I tried to hit her in the head with a tree (strictly for the Nook Miles, of course). 😂 Unfortunately, the tree fell to the side. 😛 She did need quite a few of the recipes though!

Beth learns a new recipe as a fallen tree safely explodes nearby.

She liked my town, and I think this area filled with hyacinth lamps may have been one of her favorite spots. This is actually the area where I used to keep my Animal Crossing gravestones (and a representative item for each game). But those things got moved to the castle when I made my Animal Crossing museum.

My collection of hyacinth lamps.

Today, Beardo was infested with fleas. I caught one off of his filthy flesh, and he said that he hopes I don’t think any less of him for having fleas. Even though I’d love to think less of him, I don’t think that’s even possible. Lucky him. 😛

Beardo: You won't think less of me for this will you? Honestly, I wouldn't blame you if you did.

Agent S was sick with COVID a cold, so I gave her some medicine I grabbed out of storage.

And on the beach, I found a D.I.Y. recipe that (shockingly) I didn’t know yet: The ironwood bed! That’s one of the original recipes from version 1.0, so I’m really surprised that it has eluded me this long!

There’s no Friday Night Forest this week, but I am thinking of having one soon. Maybe next week (July 22nd). Check the blog next week for confirmation.

See you next time!

Museum Complete!

On Sunday, Kitty the kitty was camping at the campsite. (That seems like a very redundant sentence.) 😛 But as you may or may not know, I’m not a big fan of Kitty.

Kitty: Ah, do you live here? I'm Kitty. A pleasure.
No, I live in a pond. Far from here.

At the plaza, K.K. Slider was in town for his rescheduled show. He performed Marine Song 2001 for me and Beardo.

Last night, Wisp was in town and he gave me an antique mini table after I recovered the living blobs of his ghostly flesh for him.

Out on Harv’s Island, Redd had a wild painting right half; that’s the last painting I needed! Even better was the fact that it looked legitimate! I bought it, and it arrived today. I rushed it up to the museum and Blathers confirmed its authenticity. That means my museum is now complete!!

Blathers: We've searched far and wide, high and low, and our collections are, at last, complete!
Look at this stuff, isn’t it neat?

It took me two years and about four months, which is the quickest I’ve completed any Animal Crossing museum. My previous record was about three years in New Leaf. Redd’s stand on Harv’s Island, which was added in the 2.0 update, is really what made this possible. Otherwise, it probably would have taken me another year or three.

I went into the art gallery to see my new painting.

Wild Painting Right Half - July 12th, 2022 - Donated by Jeff

Blathers told me he will send out my art poster in the mail.

Louie asked me to deliver a gift to Ketchup, and I agreed to help out. He sent her this jumper work suit, which looks good on her! Even if it is a bit warm for summer…

Ketchup tries on her new outfit from Louie.
Ketchup rewarded me with a tee and towel.

When I returned to the museum, I mistakenly picked “tell me about this” instead of “assess fossils.” That’s because the “make a donation” option is gone now, so all of the other options moved up a spot. Old habits die hard, so I’m likely to keep choosing the wrong thing for a couple of weeks still. 😂

I posted a new video today, and it’s something different. It’s a short 3D animation of seven metallic Nook leaf logos, rotating around and lining up. 3D rendering has become a new hobby of mine, and I’m trying to make many of my designs Animal Crossing related in one way or another. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!

See you all next time!

Static’s Birthday

Yesterday, I sold a couple of bugs, a spinning wheel that Hornsby gave me, and an unwanted D.I.Y. recipe. The total just happened to come out to 2,022 bells. 😛

Timmy: And done! I can buy these from you for a total of 2,022 bells. Sound good?

It reminded me of the grab bags sold on Sale Day in the GameCube version of Animal Crossing. The price (in bells, obviously) is always the same as the current year.

Today, C.J. hosted the summer fishing tournament. I gave it a try, but I didn’t do very well. I only caught four fish, and I was stuck on a potential 5th one that refused to take the bait. 😛 Even with the bonus points, my score was a paltry six points.

C.J.: SPLASH! That's 6 points!
He couldn’t even look at me. 😋

But on the bright side, one of the four I caught was an arowana.

Marina summed up my pathetic attempt in just a few words. 😛

Marina: In 2022... Fish aren't biting.

A bit of trivia for you: Of the core Animal Crossing series, New Horizons is the only game that has a fishing tournament in July. 🐟

Today is Static’s birthday, so I crafted him a tree’s bounty lamp (made with acorns). I then headed over to his party, where he and Ketchup were gleefully strutting around. 😂

Static celebrates his birthday with Ketchup.

I gave him the lamp, and he said it was one of the best gifts he’s ever received. Hopefully he doesn’t try to eat the acorns off of it.

Static: Well, I'll zap you, I didn't expect a tree's bounty lamp!

Later on in the evening, I remembered that I didn’t redeem my tournament points for a prize. But when I spoke to C.J. again, he reminded me that I didn’t sell my fish yet either! I had forgotten all about that! So I sold my four fish for 21,450 bells, and then I redeemed 10 of my 12 points for a fishing-rod stand.

K.K. Slider has the night off, but he should be back tomorrow night.

See you all next time!
