Cowboy Beardo

Able Sisters had cowboy shirts for sale today, and I bought a blue one for Beardo. It’s one of the rare times that I actually gave a gift to him, but he was quite happy with it. 😂

Beardo: Thanks, Jeff! I'm pretty

At the plaza later on, Bones seemed to know what I’ve been up to lately!

Bones: Ohmigosh! Are you blasting off for the moon, buddy?!
I guess the space suit gave it away. 😛

As you can see, K.K. Slider was in town for his usual Saturday night concert. I had a special request, but I think he misunderstood…

K.K.: Right on, let's get this show started. Goin' out to Jeff, it's Horrible Death time.

That request was supposed to go out to Beardo! 💀 Oh well. K.K. played one of his “error” songs, and it was pretty good. It’s nice to hear something different for a change.

Peaches was camping at the campsite. And something about her just doesn’t look right in New Horizons; I think it’s those cross-shaped eyes. They looked okay in the older games, but they really stand out more (in a bad way) in high-definition.

Speaking with Peaches at the campsite.

At the museum, I donated the graceful painting I got from Jolly Redd, and it was the real deal!

Graceful Painting - May 14th, 2022 - Donated by Jeff

I only need one more painting to complete the museum!! Unless it takes me more than 9 months to get that last one, this will be the quickest I’ve completed the museum in any game. Redd’s stand on Harv’s Island has helped immensely.

Trivia: I only need one more painting in Wild World, too! (Not the same painting, though.) Imagine how crazy that would be if I completed both museums on the same day. 😂 Unlikely, sure, but not impossible.

Later on, I headed out to Lottie’s Island to work a shift at Paradise Planning. Gayle the pink alligator wanted a vacation home where she can feel the prairie winds.

She insisted on a pergola outdoors, and I also added a windmill, a kids’ tent, a couple of triangular topiaries, a hammock, a hay bed, and some of the other recommended items. I made her house pink to match her skin.

Gayle's prairie-based vacation home.

Indoors, I used a meadow vista wallpaper, wildflower meadow flooring, and an assortment of wooden furniture. When possible, I customized the wood to be pink. It’s simple, but I like how it came out. It’s a cute little home.

Back at the office, Lottie paid me 15,000 Poki for the job. She then told me Wardell went out for a walk. I found him sitting on a log on the northern beach, where he was once before. He taught me some new soundscapes that mimic the sounds of cities and forests.

I hope you’re all having a good weekend. See you next time!

To the Moon

You know how I like putting a decoration outside of many villagers’ homes, like the bunny decoration outside of Sasha’s house? Well, I finally found something to put outside of Beardo’s house.

Some coprolite (dino poop) next to Beardo's house.
It’s coprolite. Dino poop.

Wednesday’s turnip prices dropped into the 70s and 80s. So when they rebounded to 112 on Thursday, I reluctantly sold all I had for a very slight profit. It was getting too late in the week to risk anything more. And with that, I think I’m going to take a break from turnip trading for a while. The Nook Miles achievement for turnips is going to have to wait. I’m tired of this nonsense the past three weeks. 😂

I ran into Resetti at the Roost yesterday, and I was a bit surprised! So he actually does make an on-screen appearance without needing an amiibo. He said things are going well since he gave up the yelling business, although he does get a bit lonely now. But he compensates by yelling at rocks.

Resetti: Things have been real good since I took a step back from the yellin' game, y'know?

In the afternoon, I went on Twitter to find some racers for my new obstacle course: It’s a space race! After hearing on the news that glowing moss has been spotted on the moon, the two players race to the moon to find it and bring it back to Earth. First one to show it off for the TV cameras wins! Unfortunately, a couple of my villagers were getting in the way at one point. 😂

Beardo blocks the path.

But we were able to hold the races. Thanks to Yadiel, Frank, Beat, and William for participating! Here’s my video of the races:

Today, I updated my dream. So you can take a closer look at the race course if you’d like. My dream address is 6717-1633-3682.

Jolly Redd’s ship was parked on the north shore. He had a graceful painting for sale, and it’s different from both fakes that I’ve saved pictures of! So that gives me reason to believe that it’s probably real! I’ll know for sure tomorrow. 🙂

Later on tonight, there was a meteor shower. I found Celeste in town, and she gave me five star fragments.

Now that my race course is done, I’m considering having a long-overdue Friday Night Forest, perhaps next week (May 20th). I should know for sure by the middle of next week, so check the blog for more info if you’re on my roster.

Have a great weekend, everyone! I’ll be back with another entry tomorrow (and probably a new Paradise Planning house design).

Meeting Joan

On Sunday morning, Daisy Mae was selling turnips for 110 bells apiece. After losing a bunch of money on turnips the past two weeks, I was determined to turn things around. So I bought about twice as many as usual: 3,400 turnips.

Gwen the penguin was at the campsite. I don’t particularly like her, and I’m already trying to get rid of her in City Folk. 😂 So clearly, I did not choose the camper in front of me. 😛

Gwen: Well, you're not a shy one, are you? My name's Gwen. How kind of you to stop by.

I found a lost item, a bag, on the ground. When I investigated it, it said it was a stylish bag that was more about style than function. That made me think of a peppy villager like Agent S or Ketchup. So imagine my surprise when Agent S said it belonged to Beardo!

Agent S: I've maybe seen Beardo with something like this before. Maybe?

Later, Static asked me to play a treasure hunt game. But he only gave me three minutes to find the buried item, and I didn’t find it in time. Once I did track it down and return it, Static was a bit rude about it.

Static: Thanks for retrievin' that for me. Next time, you should try to do it before you run out of game time.

On Monday, I took the advice of an anonymous commenter, and I went to the hospital. I was surprised to see Joan there, for her usual Monday checkup. 😂 She gave me 100 turnips for free!

Joan: And that look on your face tells me you know just what you wanna do with 'em. Hyeh heh heh...
Pickle them?

But I learned something else new while I was there. Skye (the receptionist) informed me that I can get an examination from the doctor! Also, they’re accepting donations to expand the hospital and build a patient ward! The cost is 120,000 Poki, so I’m going to need to design several more homes before I can pay that off.

When it was time for my exam, Dr. Octavian told me that I needed a mummy outfit to cure the stinging pain in my knee. 😂

Dr. Octavian: All done! That wasn't so bad, right? If you look in your pockets, you'll see I put a mummy outfit in there.
I guess it is made of bandages. Well, that’s a wrap.

I don’t know what I expected. This place is called Quack Doctors, after all. 😉

Back in town, Beardo asked me to visit his house. I declined, and he said it was okay because he was just going to go home and stare at himself in the mirror.

Beardo: Ah, no worries. I'll just go look at myself in the mirror for a while.
Are you trying to go blind?

I guess that’s one way to overcome a fear of monsters.

Today, Static was sick with a cold. I grabbed some medicine out of storage and took it back to him; he rewarded me with a spinning wheel.

Flick was in town, so I went in my house to get some bugs out of storage. As I did, Beardo barged in. I didn’t even speak to him. I just got my bugs and left the house. 😛

Beardo: Oh, are you headed out somewhere? Well, I'll be on my way, then. See you later, Jeff!

The Nooklings were paying 131 bells for turnips today. That’s the first increase I’ve seen in a long time. But after digging myself into such a hole, I wasn’t about to sell all my turnips for only 21 bells of profit apiece. I’m hoping for a larger jump tomorrow.

In other news, I finished up my obstacle course today! I plan on hosting a few races on an afternoon this week (probably Thursday or Friday between 4-6 p.m. EDT). When I’m ready, I’ll post on Twitter asking for people, and I plan on doing several runs with different groups of people. I also uploaded a new pattern today (hint hint).

See you all next time!
