Egg Plague

On Saturday, C.J. was in town for the spring fishing tournament. I participated, but only long enough for a single round. I caught five fish, which earned me a total of seven points.

C.J.: I am SO hyped!
You shouldn’t be that hyped. 7 points isn’t that great.

I then redeemed some points for a fish-print tee.

When I checked my mail, I was surprised to find three letters from Lottie. She sent me photos of all three Able Sisters!

Jeff stands with three Able Sisters' photos: Sable's photo, Mabel's photo, and Label's photo.

Their favorite quotes are as follows:

  • Sable: Keep working and the water mill won’t freeze.
  • Mabel: A stitch in time saves nine… more stitches.
  • Label: Ask for a hammer, and you’ll get a needle.

I also got a tam-o–shanter in the mail from Gulliver.

Yesterday (April 10th) was a dark day. Zipper T. Demon has returned from the dead!

Zipper: I'll say a warm hell

He has unleashed his evil fury in the form of an egg plague. Eggs now show up everywhere in town, and they’re nearly impossible to avoid. Be careful out there!

Look! I dug up an earth egg!

K.K. Slider was also in town (on Sunday night instead of Saturday, due to the fishing tourney). He performed K.K. Steppe for me, Apollo, and Hornsby.

Today, I found Ketchup enjoying some coffee at the Roost. To my surprise, she said she was in the process of slamming down half a dozen cups of coffee! That sounds like a lot for such a small duck!

Ketchup: The best way to start off the week is slammin' down a half dozen cups of Brewster's coffee!
Ketchup, not C.J., is going to be SO hyped.

I also spent some time tonight trying to craft a number of DIY recipes that I haven’t made yet. Since I can use craftable items in Happy Home Paradise vacation homes, this will give me more options for future designs.

Out on Lottie’s Island, Niko taught me how to make steel pillars and island counters. And Lottie introduced me to the new ABD, which can dispense both bells and Poki. I can even exchange the two currencies, with a variable exchange rate that changes each day.

What would you like to exchange? Today's Rate: 100 Poki = 322 bells.

I didn’t exchange any currency today, but it’s nice to have the option. After I donated more materials to Niko, I wrapped up my game for the night.

Barring any problems, I’ll have a short new video coming up tomorrow. See you next time!

GracieGrace

Yesterday, Lottie sent me Pavé’s photo in the mail. His favorite quote on the back is “There is no right or wrong. There is only Pavé.” That’s the same quote he used in New Leaf.

Quote on Pave's photo: There is no right or wrong. There is only Pave.

Jolly Redd’s ship was parked at the north beach, but he didn’t have any art that I needed for the museum. Still, I bought myself a (fake) ancient statue, just because I think it would be cool to have an army of the little guys.

Today, I went out to work on Lottie’s Island. Lottie was speaking with Niko, when Lottie suddenly had to be evacuated due to a medical emergency. No, really!

Lottie: That's great to hear! I'm so glad you've got it under contro-- Ow! Ow, ow, ow...

Wilbur flew her out to a hospital somewhere, and Niko took over at the main desk of Paradise Planning. The good news is that I could still work; the bad news is that I couldn’t find my own client. I was forced to design a vacation home for Knox the chicken.

Knox: Um... H-Hello? Is this the place to go if I want a vacation home?

His theme was “Castle of the Noble Knight.” I picked out a location where he could have a moat around his castle. Unfortunately, that didn’t leave much space for the castle itself. 😛

They missed out on the chance to call this project Fort Knox.

Indoors, I used the slate flooring and rustic-stone wall. I gave Knox a throne, a stonework kitchen, two guards (plate armor), and some golden elegant furniture that was fit for a king.

By the time I finished, Lottie was already back at the office. She said she ate something at the celebration party that disagreed with her. But let me tell you a little secret: I was at that party, and she didn’t eat a thing! All she did was drink, drink, drink! 😛 Anyway, the big drunk paid me 15,000 Poki for my work. 😂

Back in Forest, I found Gulliver washed up on the beach. I recovered his communicator parts for him. Celeste was also in town tonight, and she gave me five star fragments.

Later tonight, after making my rounds, I returned to Lottie’s Island. I was finally able to work for the client of my choice: Label. So I scanned Labelle’s amiibo card to summon Label. She informed me that her sisters would also be using the vacation house, but I didn’t let that deter me from my plans.

I picked out a scenic location, but I didn’t do much to the yard.

My plan for this project was to make GracieGrace. City Folk-era GracieGrace, to be specific…when it was Labelle, not Gracie, running the shop. I used the dark parquet flooring and stately wall to make it look like the upscale shop that it is. I put some clothing and accessories on display, as well as some high-end furniture. That elegant furniture from Knox’s castle came in handy!

My recreation of GracieGrace in Happy Home Paradise (HHP).

I’m quite pleased with how it turned out! Do you like it? If you’d like to refresh your memory of the ACCF shop, check this out.

Back at the office, Lottie paid me another 15,000 Poki for my work.

Have a great weekend, everyone! See you all next time! 🙂

Smile Isle

Today, I scanned Pavé’s amiibo card at Paradise Planning to build him a new vacation home. I picked out an island where it’s springtime, and I got to work.

However, a particular peacock problem promptly became apparent: I could not use any of the Festivale furniture. I could add rainbow feathers (since they’re a DIY-craftable item), but that’s it. So I just tried to make a colorful, festive scene as best I could. I added balloons, flashy-flower signs, and I made a stage (with stage lights) where Pavé can dance his tail-feathers off.

Pave's colorful vacation home, including a dance stage.

Indoors, I used the club wall and club flooring, along with a disco ball and more stage lights to give Pavé his own private dance club.

Admittedly, this isn’t my best vacation home design. And it’s clearly underwhelming compared to my last couple of designs, which I liked a lot. But not having Festivale furniture available really handcuffed me with this design.

I called his house “Club Peacock,” and Lottie paid me 15,000 Poki for my work. In other Paradise Planning news, Niko has informed me that I can now build brick counters and pillars.

Back in Forest, I found a lost item (a picture book) on the ground. I returned it to its owner Bones, and he gave me a cook cap with logo. But more importantly, I earned 3,000 Nook Miles for completing my 300th favor (and the Smile Isle achievement).

Smile Isle achievements completed.

I had been stuck on 299 favors for a few days, so it was nice to finally get that done. And just moments later, I gave some medicine to a sick Agent S to complete favor #301. 😛

Label was in town, and she wanted to see me in an “everyday” outfit. She gave me an apron to use as an example, so I put it on. I also added some acid-washed jeans, a mesh cap, and I kept on my rubber-toe sneakers. Label was satisfied with my appearance, and she gave me some Labelle socks.

Label: ...Some Labelle socks, you see. It's from my brand. I'd love for you to have it.

I later found Wisp in town, and I recovered his spirits for him. He rewarded me with a fancy gift known as a shopping bag. 😛

Wisp: Here, have... a shopping bag!

See you all next time!
