Buying a Chainsaw

Last night, Wisp and Gulliver were in town. I helped them both out; Wisp gave me a kitchen dishwasher last night, and Gulliver sent me a tubeteika (a hat) today.

I got a cup of coffee at the Roost tonight, and I found Agent S and Celeste were also there. Agent S said that a few sips of Brewster’s coffee can calm her down, even when she’s mega stressed. She said she was at peace with three-quarters of the universe right now.

Agent S: Right now? I'm low-key at peace with at least three-quarters of the universe. I'm a stress-free me.

But considering how big the universe is, that remaining one-quarter is quite a big chunk to not be cool with. 😛

When I spoke with Celeste, she just wished me a good evening. Kinda funny that Celeste wasn’t the one talking about the universe. 😛

Marina asked me to play a treasure hunt game, and I accepted the challenge. Fortunately, she gave me six minutes to find the treasure…because it took me over three minutes to find it. It was on the edge of Sudden Valley.

Treasure found! I found treasure!

I took it back to Marina, and she opened it up for me: It was her photo! Of course, I already have one of those, but it’s still satisfying to earn a photo regardless.

Label was in town, and she wanted to see me in a formal outfit. She gave me a short peacoat as an example of what to wear. I went home and put on a tuxedo jacket, a top hat, a curly mustache, loafers, and cropped pants. It annoys me that there aren’t any plain black pants in this game that aren’t cropped, but I digress. This is my outfit:

My formal outfit.

Before I could make it out my front door, Admiral barged in. He gave me a soccer-uniform top, he played a game with me (I lost), and he told me that he was going to have bread for dinner tomorrow. Fitting for a bird, I s’pose.

Admiral: Smells good too. In fact, maybe tomorrow's dinner oughta be some bread. Hmm...

I waited five minutes for him to leave, and then I could finally get back to Label to be judged. She was pleased with my outfit, and she rewarded me with some Labelle tights.

Label hands me some Labelle tights.

Out on Lottie’s island, I bought myself a chainsaw. I may use it on the next villager that barges into my house. 😉

It says it costs 2,800 Poki for a chainsaw.

See you all next time. Look for the next New Horizons Moments video coming soon!

Tucker’s Dig Site

Eloise recently asked me for a new greeting. So I told her to say “Quick! Get in my trunk!”

Eloise: Quick! Get in my trunk!!

Just as a heads-up, there’s a new seasonal item available: It’s a Venetian carnival mask for the Carnival of Venice. It’s available now through March 1st, for a cost of 2,400 bells.

The Venetian carnival mask.

I went out to Lottie’s island tonight, and I visited the school. I spoke with the teacher (Sprocket), and he told me I should grow my own plumeria as my “homework.” He gave me a white-plumeria start.

Vivian (one of the students in class) told me that she’d volunteer to read out loud, except that she’s afraid she would mispronounce a word. 😛

Vivian, at school: Maybe I should raise my hand to read out loud... But if I mispronounce a word, I'd have to leave in disgrace!

Back out on the beach, I was surprised to find Leif! He said he was giving a talk about flowers at the school, so I attended the class too. He spoke about hybrids, and he said that I can now use hybrid flowers in my clients’ yards.

Leif, teaching a class: Everyone here will now be able to decorate with hybrid flowers in any yard they want. Isn't that special?

After the class, I went back outside. Tucker the woolly mammoth wanted a place to study archaeology; I agreed to help out, and the rest was history.

Tucker insisted on using a forbidden altar, a spaceman ancient statue, and a stone arch. I placed them all outside in his yard. I put the statue on the altar, and made a path leading up to it. I also lined it with bushes. The right half of the yard has a cave and a dig site. I used a handcart, creepy skeleton, a couple of shovels, and several pots and vases that he supposedly dug up. I like how this turned out.

Tucker's archaeology/dig site in Happy Home Paradise.
It’s too bad that I can’t use cliffs (at least not yet?) to put the dig site on a lower level.

For the inside of the house, I used the dig-site wall, dig-site flooring, a camping cot, a lantern, several pieces of stone furniture, and some more treasures that I’m pretending Tucker unearthed.

Once I finished up, Lottie paid me 9,000 Poki for the job. See you all next time!

School is in Session

K.K. Slider was in town tonight, and he performed Soulful K.K. for me and Eloise. I just heard this song in City Folk two weeks ago, so I’m a bit tired of it. 😛

K.K.: Right on. I'm tuned up and ready to roll. Who's in the mood for a little Soulful K.K.?

The Nooklings were only paying 46 bells for turnips today. But since Saturday is the last day to sell them, I sold them at a loss. I never saw the prices above 100 all week. Granted, I don’t play in the mornings, but still I’ve had bad luck two of the last three times I’ve bought turnips.

Not much was going on in town, so I went out to Lottie’s island to work. Lottie told me she had something different for me to do this time: She was ready to turn that empty building into a school! We went over to the site, and she told me how to change the dimensions of a room. I turned it into a 10 x 8 classroom.

I added some school desks, basic school chairs, some upright lockers for the back of the classroom, a chalkboard, a skeleton, an anatomical model, and of course a desk and chair for the teacher.

My classroom design in Happy Home Paradise.

When I was done, Lottie told me it was time to choose a teacher (from among the animals that I’ve designed vacation houses for). Sprocket was the default choice, so I stuck with him. Lottie also asked me to name the school, and I called it Aja Blu Academy.

Sprocket is the teacher in my classroom.
I wonder what Olivia is reading. 😮

When I was done taking photos in the classroom, we also went outside to take a photo of the schoolhouse exterior.

The outside of the schoolhouse.

With the job done, Lottie paid me 25,000 Poki for completing my first facility. Just as in Happy Home Designer, I enjoy making facilities more than houses.

I posted a new, short video today. It shows what it might look like if your Animal Crossing character could see one second into the future. 😉 I hope you enjoy it!

See you all next time!
