Free Sign, Gyroid Wall

Marina suggested a new nickname for me today, “lollipop.”

Marina: I'd like to call you... lollipop.

She’s the one covered in suckers, but I’m the lollipop? 😛 🐙🍭

Gullivarrr the pirate was washed up on the beach today, and I went diving to retrieve his communicator for him. He’ll send me my reward in the mail tomorrow.

At Nook’s Cranny, I spotted a cool new “FREE” sign! Well, it’s actually called a tabletop POP display, but it says FREE!

Tommy: Seems like you're interested in a tabletop POP display.
Spoiler alert: It wasn’t free.

I bought a couple of them. This will be great to put by my recipes I’m giving away. But it can also be customized to say other things too: It can say “50% off,” “New,” “Special Offer,” “Best Choice,” or “No. 1.” Or it can be customized to display a pointing finger, a heart, or a custom design. 👍

Apple told me that she was thinking of moving away, and I told her to go for it.

Apple: I'm thinking of maybe, you know, moving away from this island... and I totally need your input.

I like Apple, but she’s had a nice long stay in Forest (1 year, 8 months). I’ve been ready to let her go, even since before Tia left.

I’ve decided to expand and re-theme my castle, so I started ordering some more castle walls and other items I’ll need.

In my basement, I finally cleaned up the mess of gyroids on the floor and hung them on the wall instead. Here’s my collection of 37 gyroids:

Hornsby asked me to deliver an explorer shirt to Sasha. He didn’t seem thrilled with it, but he put it on regardless. To thank me, Sasha gave me the tank he was just wearing. He even said it was still warm, which didn’t exactly make it sound that appealing. 😛

Sasha: I bet it's still warm, in Miitopia!

My Smile Isle achievement progress is currently at 258/300. So I still have 42 more favors to go! 😛 Have you all completed it already?

I’ll be back with another entry tomorrow. Hope to see you then!

2 Gold Nuggets From 1 Rock

On Sunday, Tom Nook sent me a letter telling me that he was refunding 2,500 Nook Miles that I previously spent on the Pro Decorating License. I certainly wasn’t expecting anything like this, but I’ll take it.

Dear Jeff, You previously used Nook Miles to obtain the Pro Decorating License, but Paradise Planning let me know they would like to cover it instead. I've refunded your 2,500 miles. Use them on something fun, hm? -Tom Nook of Nook Inc.

K.K. Slider was in town (after being bumped from his usual Saturday show by the fishing tournament), and he performed K.K. Fugue for me and Apollo.

K.K.: Right on. I'm tuned up and ready to roll. Who's in the mood for a little K.K. Fugue?

Later on, the concert was more crowded. Sasha said that on sunny days, the sky is blue like a “blue-flavored ice plop?” 😕

Sasha: The sky's sooo pretty on sunny days. It's all blue. Like a blue-flavored ice plop. Yummy...

Well, blue isn’t a flavor, for one thing. And it’s an ice pop, not an ice plop. 😠

Today, I found Candi camping at the campsite. I’ve had her in my GameCube town forever, and I’m not a fan. Besides, something about her looks off in this game. Her eyes look too small, they seem to be up too high, and her rosy cheeks(?) are too pronounced, making them look like giant zits that are about to burst. She looked better on GameCube.

Candi: Hi there! I'm Candi, and I'm totes camping on your awesome island!
Not for long.

I took a boat ride out to a mysterious island, and I was surprised by a rock there. The first two times I hit it, gold nuggets came out! I thought I discovered a gold rock island or something. 😂 Subsequent hits didn’t yield any more gold nuggets, but still, this was the first time I’ve ever got two gold nuggets from a single rock! 😀

Two gold nuggets from one rock.

See you all again soon! Have a great day!

Tourney, Robo Depot

Nook’s Cranny was buying turnips for just 48 bells apiece today. But since it was the last day to sell them, I sold all I had for a total of 52,800 bells. So I lost nearly 60,000 bells on turnips this week. Oof.

C.J. was in town for the fishing tournament today, and my first run ended with seven fish, nine points, and a broken fishing rod. 😛

The Fishing Tourney is over! / Oh no! Thank you for your service, faithful fishing rod...

I gave it one more try, and I did a bit worse. I ended with six fish, which was good for eight points. When I redeemed some points for a prize, C.J. gave me a fish pochette.

I visited Sasha, and he said his furniture feels like him…except that he’s softer. 😛 Well, his green fur does look soft and fuzzy!

Sasha: A huh huh huh! Whaddaya think? My furniture really feels like me! Except I'm still softer.

After the tournament was over, I found C.J. enjoying some coffee up at the Roost.

C.J.: What up, fishioni-- Wait. I'm not streaming. How you doin'?

Maybe C.J. stands for “chugging joe.” ☕ 😛

Over on Lottie’s island, in Happy Home Paradise, Sprocket wanted his vacation home to resemble a factory that makes robots. In addition to the required furniture (including the robot arm and tin robot), I added some dual-hanging monitors, a gear apparatus, and a server. I used an industrial wall and steel flooring, and I customized some of the tin robots to be different colors.

Once I was done, I put Sprocket to work as the only employee of the factory. 😛

I earned 6,000 Poki for designing the Robo Depot.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everyone! See you next time!
