Finally, A Festive Tree

On Sunday, Penelope the mouse was camping at the campsite. She was not welcome to move in. 😛

Penelope: It's kind of random that I came over to Forest, but I'm way glad I did! This place is the bomb!

Wisp was in town, and I spotted two of his spirits in Sudden Valley. Or should I call it Haunted Valley?

Two ghosts (and a snowman) appear in Sudden Valley.

When I recovered and returned the spirits to Wisp, he rewarded me with a bath bucket. It looked more like a large bowl than a bucket, though.

On Monday, Louie sent me some art in the mail. It was a glowing painting, and it was authentic. However, I didn’t need that one for the museum.

But on the bright side, I encountered another real painting (a wild painting left half) at Redd’s stand on Harv’s Island. I bought it, and it arrived Tuesday. I donated it to the museum.

I found a lost item (a book) on the ground, and it belonged to the first person I asked about it: Louie. He thanked me for returning it, and he gave me another copy of his photo.

I’ve been obtaining several more of the festive DIY recipes lately, but I shot down a big one today. Literally. A big festive tree recipe, to be exact. Now I’m able to put a (large) Christmas tree up this year!

My Christmas tree for 2021.

Today, I noticed that there a bunch of New Year’s items that are now available to purchase from Nook Shopping. That includes the 2022 celebratory arch.

2022 celebratory arch: 2,022 bells.

I’d also like to restock my supply of sparkling ciders too, but the 5 item-per-day limit is so annoying. 😡

After I took a boat ride out to a mysterious island (a generic winter island, as far I could tell), I earned 3,000 Nook Miles for sailing with Kapp’n 50 times. That completed the “Set Sail for Adventure” achievement.

Set Sail for Adventure: Rare items and exciting adventures are yours when you head out on a special tour with a veteran sailor, yes, yes!

As for the other Version 2.0 features, I still need three more cups of coffee to complete the Roost achievement. And I’m doing much worse with the stretching achievement; I haven’t been stretching every day. In fact, I’ve only stretched on 17 days so far. It just seems so quick and easy to grab a cup coffee vs. doing stretching that takes a couple of minutes.

There may not be an entry tomorrow, unless something major happens. But I’ll be back on Friday night with my Toy Day entry. And I’ll be back again on Saturday…I may finally start Happy Home Paradise on Christmas Day!

Happy holidays, everyone! See you soon! 🎄

Wheat Field!

On Thursday, Brewster gave me another item: a pro coffee grinder.

I replaced another log bridge (the one just west of Resident Services) with a brick bridge, and it opened up yesterday. I only have one log bridge left now (the one on the cliff, east of Rainbow Road), but I’m keeping that one. That area would look too crowded with a larger bridge.

Sasha was talking about explosions in the “combobulation engines” of cars. He kept saying “BOOM!” and this was the exact moment he went completely insane. 😂

Sasha: A HUH HUH HUH HUH! SCREEEeeeEEEeeeEEECH!

Jolly Redd’s ship was in town, and he had a proper painting for sale. It was the first time I’ve seen that one in New Horizons, so I quickly bought it up. Forgeries are typically more common than real paintings, but when I haven’t seen any version of a painting after this much time, I figured it’s probably one that’s always real.

Marina taught me how to make an illuminated reindeer yesterday, and Apple taught me how to make a holiday candle today. So I’m finally starting to get some of these holiday DIY recipes that I didn’t get last year. Better late than never. 😛

The proper painting arrived in the mail today, and I took it up to the museum. It was indeed the real deal, so I only need ten more works of art to complete the museum now. 🙂

K.K. Slider was in town tonight, and he performed a song called K.K. Robot Synth for me and Sasha.

I shot down a balloon present up on a cliff, and I was very surprised to find a wheat field inside! I used to love these in City Folk, and I didn’t realize it was added into New Horizons with the 2.0 update! Suh-wheat!

I hope you’re all having a grain great weekend! See you next time!

Ornament Season

Yesterday, I got to see the inside of Sasha’s house…and it’s very cute. His house is filled with stuffed animals, and some of them look exactly like Care Bears!

I even sat down on the floor to play a quick board game. 😉

“Go fish. Uno!”

I found a lost item on the ground, and I was able to return it to its owner, Marina. She rewarded me with a…mantis head?

Marina: I'm hoping you can use a mantis-head model.
Uhh, yeah uh, sure…

Here are a few other quick notes about yesterday:

  • My latest reward from Gullivarrr was a pirate outfit.
  • The mysterious island was a money rock island (the first one I’ve seen on a Kapp’n tour).
  • I removed another log bridge and replaced it with a brick bridge.

Today, my bridge was complete, and I attended the ceremony.

Some cedar trees are now decorated with festive lights, and you can get some ornaments by shaking these trees. I never got all of the festive items last year, so I’ll need to do some shaking and crafting in the next few weeks!

Looking at some fallen ornaments in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH).

A couple of new seasonal items are available for the winter solstice: You can order the bathtub with yuzu and the tangyuan.

Bathtub with yuzu: 3,200 bells.

There was a camper at the campsite, but it was someone that I would never willingly invite into my town in a million years: Chops the hideous pig.

Chops, at the campsite: Hey, you're a local, right? The name's Chops.

At Nook’s Cranny, I bought a gaming chair for 29,000 bells. But a few minutes later, Apollo wanted to give me an eggshell for it! No way!

Apollo: Wait...you do?! Oh, please tell me you'll trade it for my eggshell!
I wouldn’t even trade it for the whole egg!

Good luck with your ornament search! See you all next time! 🙂
