Acorn Festival 2024

The Acorn Festival is underway, and Cornimer was standing outside of town hall for the event. He started things off by giving me my fortune.

Your secret fortune: Mini Acorn. Life: 50-50 chance. Hopes: Make a decision. Karma: Do ten chin-ups. Look behind you!

I have a 50-50 chance at life? I’m not sure what that means, but I seem to be alive at the moment, so I guess I’m doing okay? 😆

I gave him my first six acorns, and he gave me a mush stool.

Cornimer: And remember, li'l oakie... The great and mighty Cornimer is always watching!

I went around town, picking up acorns as I went. Filbert told me that it was raining acorns! That’s not exactly true, but I knew what he meant. Kinda. 😛

Filbert: It's raining acorns! They're just falling from the sky!

Many of my villagers were talking about Cornimer, and in some cases, they were even singing songs about him.

Bones: Take off your hat! And look around! 'Cause Cornimer has come to town!

And Truffles? Well, she was being her usual rude self.

Truffles: I'm doing SOOOOO good!! ...WHAT?! You don't CARE how I'm doing?! JEALOUS MUCH?!

At GameStop Nookington’s, I traded in some used video games rotten acorns for some big money. 😉

Tom Nook: Let's see, all together, I'll pay 8 bells for everything!

You can’t give rotten acorns to Tortimer, so I filled up the recycle bin with them, and just sold the rest for 2 bells apiece.

I got to see the inside of Whitney’s house now that she is all unpacked, and it looks nice!

Octavian was still sick with a cold, so I gave him another dose of medicine.

By the time I finished cleaning up all the acorns, I had given Tortimer 109 acorns in total. He gave me seven pieces of furniture in return: a mush lamp, stool, chair, stand, end table, dresser, and closet.

Cornimer: The number of acorns you've given me is 109!

I checked my storage to see if I had any leftover acorns there, but I didn’t. So I sold my seven mush items at the store, and Tom Nook paid 15,600 bells for them all.

The Acorn Festival continues through Sunday, so you still have time to check it out for yourself! Good luck out there!

Brian and Whitney

On Wednesday, I received my latest bank statement from town hall. I earned 65,000 bells in interest this month.

I also received Eloise’s goodbye letter. So long, Eloise!

I'm outta here, Jeff! I'm moving, and it's sad. But the IMPORTANT thing is it's all about me. 'Cause I'm moving. And it's sad. Later! -From, Eloise

As I saw on the bulletin board, the Acorn Festival starts next week! Cornimer will be here soon!

-Acorn Festival Notice- The Acorn Festival starts next Monday! Let's all go find nature's most eerie and mysterious of gifts... THE MIGHTY ACORN!

I shot down a balloon present, and the gift was actually a space station! Did I just shoot down the space station?! Oops! 🛰️

Last night, I wished on a shooting star. Today, Wishy sent me an Arwing (Fox McCloud’s space ship from Star Fox). I guess that makes two items from space that ended up in my pockets this week. 🚀

Tank was out for a walk tonight, and he told me that walking is good for the body…and good for Brian. Yes, Brian.

Tank: Walks are good for the bod, of course, but they're also good for Brian.

My character apparently corrected him, telling him he meant “brain,” not Brian. He wasn’t convinced at first, though he did wonder if he was a meathead. 😛

Tank: Hm? Brain? ...You sure it's not Brian? You're positive? Am I a meathead?

Octavian came down with a cold this week. So I gave him some medicine yesterday, and again today. Get well soon, Octavian!

Octavian: Oh! You actually thought of me, eh? Wow, yip yip!

I found a new house in the same spot where Eloise lived; Whitney the wolf just moved in!

Whitney: I'm Whitney. I fled to this town for many, many complicated reasons.

Even though she is a snooty villager like Eloise, Whitney is definitely one of the better snooties to have. I’ve always liked her. Welcome to Forest, Whitney!

And if you haven’t yet seen my latest video episode (#69), which I posted on Monday, here it is:

Have a great weekend! I’ll be back next week with another entry, during the Acorn Festival.

Eloise Exits

Yesterday, I noticed that Drift has straightened up his house a bit. He lined up all of his bugs against his back wall, and his house has never been so neat and clean. 😆

Drift and his five bugs, lined up neatly against his back wall.

It also shows how many bugs I’ve caught for him. 😛

When I visited Truffles, she actually looked lovely for once. 😉

Truffles, not visible standing behind a lovely kitchen: Good evening! You're still full of energy, aren't you? Snoutie!

Eloise, meanwhile, has continued to show me how snooty she can be.

Eloise: Hmmm... You know what your problem is? You're lacking a distinct personal style.

She told me that I should start a rockabilly band to play for her enjoyment.

Eloise: You should form a band and play rockabilly for me to dance to.

Today, Truffles asked me to take a gift (a fluffy shirt) over to Filbert, and I agreed to help out. Filbert complimented me on the speedy delivery, and then…said he and Truffles were worried about me. Why would they be worried if it was a speedy delivery? 🤔

Filbert: Huh huh huh! That was fast. Truffles and I were worried about you, pal.

Truffles rewarded me with a ranch armchair.

A message posted to the bulletin board was about being the author being rebellious and looking at whatever she wants. Unless it’s gross, of course. 😛

-Talking to Myself- Who was it that decided some things shouldn't be seen? I'll see what I want! ...Unless it's GROSS!

Tank has come down with a cold this week, so I gave him some medicine Wednesday, yesterday, and today. Get well soon, Tank!

When I went into Eloise’s house, I saw that she was all packed up and ready to move out. Like I mentioned in last week’s entry, I feel like it’s time to let her go…so I did.

Eloise: It's not your business, but I've got a dream I have to pursue. Someplace else.

Her snootiness has been annoying me lately, and she’s had a nice, long stay in Forest (two full years). Bye, Eloise!

I plan on posting my next Wild World video this weekend early next week, so keep an eye out for that! Have a great weekend!
