After starting up the game tonight, I took some more oranges to sell at Nook’s Cranny. I used the Y button to quickly select multiple items to sell. Thanks again for the tip, Sir Clud (and the others who posted on last night’s video).
I was really digging one of Tom Nook’s items today: a shovel! It’s easily worth the 500 bells, so I bought it right away.
I used it to dig up a few fossils, and I also found today’s money rock. Even though I didn’t get the maximum amount from it, even a few thousand bells is very helpful this early in the game!
I found another new house today, down on the beach. It belongs to Bill: another duck! He referred to himself as the Chugging Ninja. He said that next time, we’re going to compete by chugging java head-to-head.
Speaking of coffee, I went down the stairs in the museum to visit the Roost for the first time. I bought myself some coffee for 200 bells.
And since it’s Saturday night, K.K. Slider was also there to perform some music. K.K. asked if I had any requests, and I meant to say no, but I clicked the first option too soon and couldn’t back out of it. So I requested K.K. Ballad, and he played it for me as the credits rolled.
After the show, I went fishing in the ocean. I caught myself a horse mackerel, a red snapper, and a sea bass. Even though it was my first sea bass (in Wild World), it still said “not again!” But it’s true, even once is too much. 😉
Pate was standing right behind me, asking me how much money I had. I told her I was dirt poor, and she gave me a library wall for me to sell. That was nice of her. Well, aside from telling me I looked poor.
I went up the museum to donate my fish and fossils. Blathers told me a (relatively) brief story about how he recently got his license to identify fossils. This is a reference to the GameCube game, in which Blathers could not identify them himself. Instead, players had to mail fossils away to the Farway Museum, one at a time.
I also made a trip upstairs to check out the observatory and meet Celeste. It looks virtually identical to the City Folk observatory (just in a much lower resolution, of course).
Of course, a day just wouldn’t be complete without looking into the face of evil, so I chatted with Yuka. She asked me for some “chic” furniture, but of course, I have no intentions of helping her out.
I was unable to push her into a hole, so I checked the lost and found for some pitfall seeds. This was also my first time into the gate area…though it’s called the checkpoint area in Wild World. The lost and found had three items: a zipper shirt, a mini-dharma, and a fan palm. I took them all, though I was disappointed Booker had no pitfall seeds for me.
After putting on the zipper shirt, I returned to Nook’s Cranny to sell my other stuff. I also bought a cabana wardrobe (even though I don’t plan on keeping it). Tom Nook then told me about the PTM (Point Tracking Machine). I’ll earn points every time I shop. Those points will eventually earn me some rewards and shopping discounts. I currently have 66 points, and I’ll need 234 more to reach member status.
That about wrapped up my night, but I made sure to put my K.K. Ballad song into the music player in my house. See you next time!
