Day 4: Static Cling

I met up with Bill the duck today, and he was talking about mixing various foods. He wanted to take some miso soup and pour it over peach cobbler. I told him it sounded awful, and he got mad. He said I don’t know a thing about gourmet living (I never said I did), and he told me to enjoy my hot dogs on white bread. Maybe I will!

Bill: Yeah. Enjoy your hot dogs wrapped in white bread. ...I cry for your belly.

There was another new house in town, and this one belonged to Static the squirrel! Static is one of my favorite villagers in the series. In fact, I already have him in my GameCube town and my City Folk town! So I currently have him in three of the four main Animal Crossing games! Static must be clinging to me.

Static: Yo! I think this is the first time we've talked, right? I'm Static.

I found today’s money rock and got seven money bags out of it. I’m not sure if that’s the maximum (at least for non-lucky days), but it scored me a cool 8,500 bells. That’s the equivalent of selling 85 oranges! It sounds like the money rock may be my main source of income for a while. Especially since all the fossils I’ve identified so far have been donated to the museum, and I haven’t acquired any foreign fruit yet.

Seven bags of money from the daily money rock.

Chevre asked to come visit my house tonight, and I was going to let her. Until I realized it was one of those meetings where I had to schedule a time. I couldn’t back out of it, so I just picked a random time and never followed through with it. I don’t have time for this. Either come right away or don’t come at all.

Chevre: You probably need some time to hide all your geeky role-playing games...

Alfonso suggested a new nickname for me, but it was quite a stretch: He said I’m now known as Dr. J!

Alfonso: Then from now on, you're Dr. J.

I did a little fishing, but none of the fish I caught were new ones. So I sold everything that I caught. Tom Nook didn’t have any new tools I needed in stock today, but I did buy myself a flying saucer for my house. It seems to spin faster than it does in the other games.

At town hall, Phyllis told me about the town of Boondox. She told me I can donate money to help the residents of that underdeveloped town, whose residents eat nothing but grilled dirt. I’ll contribute to the cause in the future, but I have much to do here in Forest first.

Phyllis: there aren't any trendy shops and zero hot men. (What a wasteland!)

I then moved over to the other counter and made my first mortgage payment. I paid 10,000 bells, so I still owe 8,400 bells.

Surprisingly, I didn’t run into Yuka today. It must be my lucky day! See you next time!
