Well, I found my first pitfall today. Or to be more specific, it found me. It was right on the edge of where the grass meets the dirt, and they’re hard to see when they’re right there. Oh well, maybe I’ll spot the next one.
When I chatted with Static tonight, he said that even though we’re just acquaintances so far, we’ve got chemistry. Although, he was scared by that fact. I would’ve told him I’m friends with two clones of him in parallel universes (other Animal Crossing games), but I think that might have just made things weirder.
For the first time in Wild World, I heard the UFO tonight! Of course I don’t have a slingshot yet, not to mention the fact that I didn’t even see the UFO. But actually, I forgot to look at the top screen! D’oh. When I checked the footage I recorded, it was indeed visible on the top screen, although it was quite small (indicating it was far in the distance).
Because I didn’t notice it at the time, I went running off in the wrong direction. The good news is that I think the UFOs will be easier to shoot down in Wild World than they were in City Folk. That is, of course, if I remember to look at the top screen. 😛
I saw a tiny bug jumping around on the ground. It looked like a flea and hopped like a flea, but there were no animals around. (See the GIF). If only I had a net…
I didn’t play yesterday, so I didn’t see the notice, but Nook’s Cranny has now upgraded to Nook ‘n’ Go, the convenience store!
The tools Nook had for sale today were a fishing rod, an axe, and a timer. I don’t really need the axe yet, since I’m nowhere near the point where I’m trying for perfect town status. The timer is pretty useless when there’s no online play any more, and I already have the rod. Hopefully he’ll get a net or slingshot soon.
There was a new house in town, and I found Baabara the sheep inside. Like Static, she also lives in my GameCube town. But unlike Static, I hate Baabara’s guts. She has a long history of being very rude to me on GameCube, so I’ll try to make her miserable while she’s here.
As I came out of her house, I stepped right into a conversation (an argument, really) between Pate and Static. Static wanted to hire Pate to dig some ditches, but Pate refused. It was kind of funny how my head kept going from side to side as they each spoke. But I wonder why Static needed some ditches dug. Graves for Yuka and Baabara? Oh, I wish.
After selling some oranges and a few other things, I had enough money to pay off my first mortgage to Tom Nook! My house will be expanded by tomorrow!
I finished up my night with a little fishing. One of the fish I caught was a crucian carp, which I donated to the museum. Blathers was quite excited about it, and he started talking about fish tacos. But this donation is for the museum, buddy. Not your stomach.
I’ll see you all next time! 🙂
