The fishing tourney was held today, so I made sure to play before the tournament ended at 6:00. Tortimer was outside of town hall, and told me the rules. Whoever catches the biggest fish wins. The surprising part for me was that Tortimer–not Chip–was the judge! Chip hosts the event in all other Animal Crossing games.
So I began fishing. Once I caught a sea bass, I took it up to Tortimer. It was 45.8 inches long. But that wasn’t good enough; Alfonso had caught a 59.9 inch coelacanth! Wait, it’s not even raining. How could he catch a coelacanth? Wow, this fishing tourney is rigged!
I did catch and donate some new types of fish today, including a black bass, a cherry salmon, and an octopus. With each fish, Blathers discusses his favorite ways to cook it.
I caught several more sea bass, but none of them came close to Alfonso’s 59.9 inch coelacanth. So I ended up losing the fishing tourney, and Tortimer instantly disappeared from outside of town hall once 6:00 rolled by.
Chevre was outside, trying to get me to buy her exquisite rug for 2,700 bells. I wasn’t interested, but the odd thing was the choices I had: “I’ll take it” or “That’s cool.” Since when does “that’s cool” mean no?
Since I was playing earlier than usual, I spotted some bugs I haven’t caught yet. So I nabbed a migratory locust, long locust, and red dragonfly, and donated them to the museum.
When I visited Baabara, she asked me what kind of makeup boys like (on girls). I told her clown makeup, but she said she’s afraid of clowns. I should introduce her to Pietro. 😉
In Able Sisters, I had a chat with Sable, and she felt bad that she never has time to make me any coffee. She would like to sit and chat with me, if she could.
I checked the lost-and-found today, and Booker finally had a pitfall seed for me! But since Yuka and Baabara were both indoors, I decided to save it for another day. 🙂
Bill was also indoors today, but for a different reason. He’s packing up and ready to move out of town! I told him not to go, and then he said he lost his passport. Does that mean he can’t move out now? I guess I’ll find out tomorrow.
Tom Nook had a shovel for sale, and I bought it (even though I already own one). I buried it near my house, so I should end up with a golden shovel tomorrow!
Here is a video that shows events from the past few days:
Wow, you just reminded me of something. Sitting in English when I was about 8, in elementary school…and my friend James telling me that golden shovel trick!
