Curly the Cannibal

I visited Curly tonight, and he told me that he put a fossil in his room. But then, he told me he prefers spare ribs to fossils! Wow, he’s a cannibal!

Curly: But, to be honest... I like spare ribs better than fossils...Why don’t you come over for dinner? I’ll chop up some spare ribs and maybe make some Curly fries too. You It will be delicious.

It’s funny because I remember seeing a post somewhere (probably Tumblr) that said all of the food dishes mentioned in Animal Crossing games didn’t include meat (fish yes, but not beef or pork, etc.). Wish I could find it now. 😛 Maybe it just referred to New Leaf, although I don’t think it made that distinction.

When I spoke to Rhonda, she said she was so glad she got to know me and become close to me. She said we’ll be best friends.

Rhonda: I want to be very close to you, captain! We'll be best friends, on my horn!
Yeah, I’ve heard that before. Get out of here.

I visited Joey, and he was telling me that fossils smell really good. Apparently they smell like dirty gems.

Joey: They're sweet and earthy at the same time. Like the smell of, uh, dirty gems!A new “Talking to Myself” message posted to the bulletin board says that pelicans are the symbol for savings. According to Katrina, at least.

-Talking to Myself- Katrina told me that the pelican was the symbol for savings. I'm not sure how I feel about that.I went to the Roost for the Saturday night musical performance, and K.K. Slider played K.K. Country for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Country!I didn’t make much money tonight–just the bells from the money rock and from selling the one fossil I found. So I only made a 10,000 bell mortgage payment this time. I’ll try to do better next time, if I can.

Dainty Painting

Crazy Redd was in town today, and I rushed to his tent after reading his letter. It was mainly so that I didn’t forget today’s password, which was “is often empty.” He had a dainty painting for sale.

Redd: Ah! I see you've noticed the dainty painting! That's a very nice item!

I bought it for 3,920 bells and took it over to Blathers at the museum. It turned to be a legit piece of art, so I donated it.

Dainty painting. Donor: Jeff.

Outside, I ran into Joey. He told me that the number of fossils you’ll find in life is predetermined. He said that he’ll be able to find three per day. That’s nice to see the game acknowledge the daily fossil limit, even if there’s not a logical reason for it.

Joey: My calculations say that I should be able to find about three per day...

I’m also a bit relieved that there are just three to find each day, since I’ve never found four in Wild World (New Leaf has four per day). I was afraid there was a really well-hidden one somewhere in town that I’d never locate. 😛

There was a new Message of the Week on the bulletin board, and to be honest, I didn’t get it at first. But then it clicked (or should I say snapped).

*Message of the Week* The early bird gets the worm. The late mouse gets the cheese!

Puddles was once again impersonating Katrina the fortune teller. This time, she told me to drink buckets of cocoa before bed. If I do that, she won’t be the only Puddles in town.

Puddles: Drink buckets of cocoa before bed...or else!

I had a little chat with Curly outside, and he informed that he was all banana. Alrighty then.

Curly: H-hey! I'm not rotten! And I'm sure not mushy! I'm all banana, baby!

His mood improved a bit later. He asked me for a fossil, and I gave him a dinosaur track that I dug up. He gladly accepted it, and he rewarded me with 510 bells.

After selling some stuff at Nookington’s, I made a 30,000 bell mortgage payment at town hall. I then ended my game for the night.

But there is one other thing I’d like to share. My latest Wild World video is done, showing highlights of events from late September through last Saturday. It’s episode 11 of my series. Hope you enjoy!

November La-Di-Day

Today was La-Di-Day, the day that animals will sing to suggest a new town tune. Rhonda was the first animal of the night to sing for me.

Rhonda: Would you care for a little live concert, on my horn?I actually enjoyed her song, so I hired her. That was the first time I’ve hired Rhonda...to sing, at least.

Joey was in a good mood, so he gave me a gift. It was a cabin rug, and he said he trusted me to treat it the way I’d treat him.

Joey: I trust you'll treat my cabin rug the way you would me.
Sure, I’ll walk all over it.

There was a new “Talking to Myself” post on the bulletin board, and it was about wriggling worms. Actually, it was mostly about the word “wriggle.”

-Talking to Myself- They say worms wriggle, but what does that really mean? Wriggle, wriggle, wriggle! Tee hee hee!Since it’s Saturday night, I went down to the Roost to check out some live music. K.K. Slider played Agent K.K. for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Agent K.K.!After the show, I visited Puddles. She said that singing makes her really happy, but it also makes her crave milk shakes. Now she’s making me want one too!

Puddles: Singing makes me really happy! And crave milk shakes!I didn’t bother making a mortgage payment tonight, because I didn’t have much money on me. Nook’s was closed already, so I couldn’t sell the fossils and other stuff I had in my pockets. So I returned home and put my new song in my stereo.

But before I ended my night, I spoke with Kiki again. She was the second animal to sing me a potential town tune. Even though her song wasn’t bad, I really wanted to stick with Rhonda’s song for a while. So as much as I hated to do it, I told Kiki no. She got sad, and wondered if the judges were going to vote her out of the village.

Kiki: Oh, no! Does this mean the judges are going to vote me out of the village?
Sounds like she’s been watching too much Survivor.
