Moppina

I got a letter from Mom today, talking about the arrival of autumn. She sent me an acorn; I put it in storage for a future acorn festival (if I remember to use it).

Rosie was talking about how big my house is now (even though it’s been fully expanded for quite a while now). Still, she asked if she should bring some mocha java as a housewarming gift. Uhh… obviously. Yes!

Rosie: As a housewarming gift, should I bring expensive mocha java?

In my flower garden, I found my very first black rose! Woohoo! I picked it up and put it in my house for safekeeping.

The latest Message of the Week on the bulletin board advised people to keep a positive attitude…and ignore the “horror of it all.” Is being positive really that horrible? Hmm, this sounds like Phyllis struggling to be nice. 😛

*Message of the Week* Keep a positive attitude... Ignore the horror of it all!

In front of the museum, Margie and Rosie had a very interesting conversation. Margie asked Rosie if she had seen Margie’s new mop yet…

Margie: Hey, Rosie, have I shown you my new mop yet?

Rosie was not excited to hear about it; she prefers her candy. She even told Margie to go scrub something. 😂

Rosie: You can have your mop. I've got candy. So why don't you just go scrub something?

The conversation then got weird(er). Margie said that the mop isn’t for scrubbing…its name is Moppina and “she” is Margie’s best friend!

Margie: Hey... don't call Moppina an it! She's a she, and she's my best friend ever!

Margie tries out hairstyles on Moppina, lets her model clothes, and they even dance together!

Margie: And she tries on clothes for me and lets me dance with her...

I was expecting Rosie to call Margie crazy, but she didn’t. Instead, Rosie said that Moppina sounds pretty nice, and she wants to meet her! This has got to be one of the most bizarre conversations I’ve listened in on.

I went to visit Rocco, and he made me quite happy…by telling me he was moving away! So long, jerk!

Rocco: This is awkward. You caught me in the act. How'd you know I was skipping town?

I’ve finally saved up enough money for another 300,000 bell donation to Boondox. Pelly told me that the average household there has two cars now. Wow, they’ve really come a long way.

Pelly: I heard that in Boondox, the average household has two cars now.

Crazy Redd was in town, but I didn’t need what he was selling (the quaint painting). See you next time!

First Purple Hybrid

While watering the many wilted flowers around my house tonight, I spotted something new. Something bright and purple…purple pansies, hiding right behind my house!

I should be able to catch the peacock butterfly now! Well, aside from the fact that it won’t be back in season until March. 😀 But I have what I need to do it, although I’d still like to grow more hybrids over the winter. For now, I put the purple pansies in my house so there’s no risk of them dying.

It seems like I’ve been wearing the BB shirt forever, and I was getting quite tired of it. So I went into Able Sisters and bought a one-way tee to wear instead. While I was there, I noticed that Sable is sew ready for Halloween. 😛

Sable sews a skull shirt.

The latest Message of the Week on the bulletin board was about being as old as you feel.

*Message of the Week* You're as old as you feel. I feel sick.

Right after I got done reading that, Margie approached me and wanted to buy my BB shirt. I was happy to sell it, and she gave me 100 bells for it.

Leggy Wizard

Jeremiah asked me to catch a pill bug for him tonight, and I agreed to help out. He said pill bugs are like wizards, just with more legs. I guess, but that would be one ugly wizard.

Jeremiah: It's like some kind of wizard, but with more legs!

So I went around banging rocks, and I eventually caught a leggy wizard for him. But once I took it back to him, he basically said nevermind, because he already caught one! What??

Jeremiah: Whoa... That wasn't easy! But I already got the pill bug!

I don’t recall ever having this happen before. He didn’t even show me the pill bug to prove it. When I “win” the competition, I always have to give him the bug to prove I won, so where’s my proof that he won? So I got no prize for all that work. And to make things worse, he started gloating!

Jeremiah: But beating you is really making me happy, in a pond!

When I spoke to him again, he wanted me to catch him a migratory locust. No way!

When I ran into Curly, he told me he was exhausted from gardening all day.

Curly: You know how I like to garden... Well, I did it all day and I'm beat! And he wasn’t just saying that; it was true! His house was surrounded by flowers, none of them wilted. And these were not here the last time I played.

Bree asked me for a new greeting, so I told her to say “I’m annoying.”

Bree: I'm annoying, huh? Are you sure about that?
Oh, I’m sure.

Crazy Redd was in town (after not being here last week, due to the Acorn Festival), and he had a lovely painting for sale. I didn’t need it, though.
