Acorn Festival 2018

The Acorn Festival is underway this week, and Tortimer Cornimer can be found outside of town hall to officiate the event.

Cornimer: Allow me to introduce myself! I am the mysterious Cornimer!

He gave me my fortune, and apparently I’m a rotten acorn. Or maybe Cornimer is just a nut.

Your secret fortune: Rotten Acorn. Life: Well... maybe... Hopes: You're too picky! Karma: Do 10 laps. Look behind you!

Acorns can be found under many regular (non-fruit) trees around town. My job is to pick them up, discard of any rotten acorns, and give the rest to Cornimer.

While you can put the rotten acorns in the recycle bin, it will quickly fill up. Alternatively, you can sell them to Tom Nook. But he doesn’t pay much for them…only 2 bells each, in fact.

Tom Nook: Let's see, all together, I'll pay 2 bells for everything!

And of course, the villagers in town will also be talking about the event.

Curly: Picking acorns makes my shirt all dirty! That and the sweat stains!

Or in some cases, singing about it.

Big Top, singing: Cornimer's by my side! Wading through an acorn tide!

Bree was still sick with a cold, so I gave her some more medicine.

When the number of (good) acorns you give to Cornimer reaches certain numbers, he will reward you with pieces of mush furniture. I gave him a total of 67 acorns, and I scored a mush chair, mush stool, mush end table, mush lamp, and mush dresser.

Last year, it took me six days of playing to complete the set. I don’t plan on doing that again, since I still have my original mush set in my house already.

I just sold this year’s mush furniture.

I saw on the bulletin board that Kiki’s birthday was October 8th (yesterday). Oops, I missed it.

In other news, I have posted my latest ACWW video, Ep. 16. It shows highlights from my town from July through early October, along with some fun and surprises. I hope you enjoy it!

Jeremiah’s Bug

I played Wild World over the weekend, in hopes of finding some hybrid flowers and catching a peacock butterfly. While I did find one hybrid (an orange rose), I apparently need blue, purple, or black hybrids to catch the peacock.

So I will officially not complete my museum in 2018, but that’s okay. It’s going to take a while to get those last paintings I need anyway.

I had a weird conversation with Jeremiah. He asked me if bugs had any weaknesses, and then asked if they get ticklish if you touch their bellies. o.O In his own weird way, he was asking me to catch a red dragonfly for him.

Jeremiah: Ha! I'd like to see a red dragonfly rolling around laughing!

I went outside and caught one for him, although it didn’t seem to be in a laughing mood. Jeremiah gave me 500 bells as my reward.

Curly approached me outside and told me he had a flying saucer.

Curly: At this moment, I have the flying saucer on my person! He asked how much I would pay for it, and a slider appeared with “10,000 bells” at the top and “zilch” at the bottom. I actually moved it up to almost 10,000 bells (but not quite all the way). He got mad at me for not being able to make a decision (???), and then he (angrily) gave it to me for free. I was willing to pay for it, dude. This pig is crazy. Anyway, I put it in my space room.

I know I had a flying saucer in the past, in the early days of my town. But I don’t remember what happened to that one. I think I sold it before I decided on making a space room. Oh well, it’s back now.

Today, Jeremiah was still talking about the dragonfly I caught him on Sunday. I guess he really enjoyed it.

Jeremiah: I'm so psyched to play with my bug, in a pond!

When I visited Bree, I saw that she was sick with a cold. I gave her some medicine, and she started to feel better.

Bree: So very cold... Can't stop shivering... Lipstick all over face...
