Flower Fest 2019

Roald’s replacement moved in on Tuesday, and I was happy to find that it was Teddy the bear! I’ve always liked Teddy, since he lived in my GameCube town years ago.

Teddy: Hey, nice to meetcha! I'm Teddy! You're Jeff, right?

A new “Message of the Week” was posted to the bulletin board, and it was about friends…and deodorant.

*Message of the Week* Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. And make sure everyone uses lots of deodorant.

The Flower Fest was underway, so Crazy Redd didn’t show up this week. I made sure to water the flowers around my house, but I didn’t water anyone else’s gardens. I’m not sabotaging anyone’s flowers, but I don’t want to help out the competition either.

I played again today, and Rosie informed me that “passion” is the theme for the Flower Fest this year. I don’t know if that’s true, or if she’s making it up.

Rosie: I love how Passion is the theme for this year's Flower Fest.

Tortimer was outside of town hall, and he talked about the Flower Fest and gave me a bag of red pansy seeds. He didn’t mention anything about passion, though.

Tortimer: A red pansy bag! For you!

Interestingly, he didn’t mention the Flower Fest dialogue (or give me seeds) when I played on Tuesday. He only talked about his aching feet for some reason.

Margie was all packed up and ready to move her trunk out of town, but I talked to her a few times until she changed her mind.

Kiki reminded me to keep watering my flowers…unless I like them crunchy.

Kiki: Keep watering them every day, unless you like your flowers crunchy.
I only like my opponents’ flowers crunchy.

I returned home and planted the red pansies from Tortimer. I also got my purple and black hybrids out of my house and planted them. Hopefully they will help earn me my first Flower Fest win!

Tomorrow is the last day of the Flower Fest, so wish me luck! I’ll be back with another entry on Tuesday with the results. Hope to see you then. 🙂

Forest’s Sweethearts

I received Roald’s goodbye letter in the mail today. He said he was sure I’d remember him fondly…. ha! Thanks for the laugh!

Hoo-ha, Jeff, I'm moving. I have my reasons. No worries, yo! I'm sure you'll remember me fondly. Keep pumpin'! See ya! -From Roald

Crazy Redd was in town with a warm painting to sell, but I gave Redd the cold shoulder instead.

Rosie surprised me by saying that she and I were like Forest’s sweethearts!

Rosie: Y'know, I was thinking...we're like Forest's sweethearts, aren't we?

I didn’t know she liked me that way! But then, she pretty much took it back, and instead called me a stinky boy. Wow, thanks, Rosie.

Rosie: Ah! Wait, what am I saying? You're a boy! A stinky boy! Um...look, that's not...um...

She said none of it was coming out right. So I guess we’re not sweethearts any more. 😛

By the way, many trees in town are now pink. You can see one in the background of the above screenshots.

I walked into Gaston’s house, and he was still sick. Oddly enough, he was insulting the cold for not being a “real” cold.

Gaston: A real cold woulda put me in the hospital, in a pond. HACKGH!!!

Sorry Gaston, but Animal Crossing doesn’t even have a hospital! Well, I guess Happy Home Designer does, but I have no way to transport you there, pal. So I did the next best thing and gave him some medicine.

Big Top has been asking me for new clothes for a while, so I bought him a fairy tale shirt at Able Sisters. However, it never made it to him. Bree stopped me along the way, wanting to trade for it. She gave me a shanty wall in return.

I didn’t bother going back to buy Big Top another shirt, because the other shirts they had were even uglier. Maybe another time, big guy.

Roald’s replacement has not moved in yet. I’m sure that will happen by next week. See you then!
