The Buck Starts Here

Margie has started asking me for white furniture, so I’ve been shopping for her as well lately. Tom Nook has had a lot of kitchen items, and Margie accepts them as white. So I gave her a stove and a kitchen corner last Monday.

Last Tuesday, Benedict told me something that his father told him: Never trust anyone who says they like everything.

Benedict: Never trust anyone who says they like everything, uh-hoo!

Tuesday also happened to be Margie’s birthday. I gave her a kitchen sink, and she really seemed to appreciate it.

Margie: I was JUST about to go get one of these for myself, tootie!

She gave me a mahjong table in return. And it’s hard to see in the above screenshot, but Mathilda was also at Margie’s party.

On Thursday, Kabuki told me about a letter he got from the Happy Room Academy. He told me they said his room had a Fungus Sway infection?

Kabuki: They say my room has some kind of cool Fungus Sway infection, meooo-OH!

That really left me confused at first. But then I realized, he was talking about feng shui. I still don’t quite get where the word “infection” would have come up, but oh well. I guess Kabuki just got a little confused.

Kabuki: My little fungus earned me 959 points, and even some cool stuff!

I made a snowman, and he sent me a snowman bed in the mail. I didn’t play last Friday, but I received it on Saturday. The problem is that it was flea market day, so villagers kept coming in my house when I was trying to find a place for the bed! First Big Top, then Kabuki, and then Goldie!

I get comments on Youtube sometimes from people who miss the flea markets in Wild World and City Folk, but I can’t say I agree. It’s so frustrating when you’re just trying to put a piece of furniture down, and you can’t. I ultimately left the bed in the middle of my room.

When I walked a bit south from my house, I was very surprised to see a new villager: Buck!

Buck: I'm Buck, aka the Chugging Ninja! I just moved here.

The most surprising part is that he was outside; he wasn’t indoors unpacking his boxes! His house was not there on Thursday, and I didn’t play on Friday. But I did turn the game on to check out the weather. However, I turned the game off after seeing no snow on the title screen. Does the game treat it as a day played if it simply loads the title screen? It shouldn’t… but why else would Buck already be outside? Hmm…

Yesterday (February 2nd) was Groundhog Day. Even though Wild World doesn’t really celebrate the occasion like the other games in the series do, I did get a letter from Mom about it.

Dear Jeff, Did the groundhog show his face today? There IS a groundhog in that odd commune you live in, yes? I must know! -Mom

Buck must be allergic to Forest, because he was already sick! Or maybe he just had a Fungus Sway infection. Either way, I gave him some medicine so he can get buck to feeling like himself.

Today (Monday) is the start of Bright Nights. Even though it wasn’t quite dark yet when I played, I saw that the villagers’ houses were still decorated with blinking lights.

Big Top's house decorated for Bright Nights in Animal Crossing: Wild World.

Outside of town hall, Tortimer joked that the lights of Bright Nights were burning his eyes. 😛

Tortimer: AUGH! The lights! They're burning my eyes!

After I told him I enjoyed the lights, he forced me to choose whose lights were the best. Since Benedict just walked by, I said his name. 😛 But there aren’t really any consequences to your choice.

Since last week, I’ve posted a new Wild World video, episode 24. But I just realized I forgot to embed episode 23 in the blog from the week before. So here are both videos. I hope you enjoy them!
