Benedict’s Pic

Tom Nook had a spotlight product for sale today, but it was one I’ve already bought in the past: a black queen.

Surprisingly, Benedict was talking about death and reincarnation tonight. He said if he died, he would want to come back as the ocean.

Benedict: If I died and came back as something else, I'd want to be the ocean, red roost.
Maybe you could be the Red Sea.

Victoria was all packed up and ready to move out of town, and I seriously considered letting her go. It’s not that I don’t like her, because I do. But it’s been a while since the villager lineup has changed, and I think the town needs some fresh blood. However, I couldn’t pull the trigger on the move. 😛 I ultimately asked her to stay anyway. But I do need to let someone move soon.

When I ran into Kabuki outside, he offered to sell me a mystery item for just 320 bells.

Kabuki: And for you, I'd be willing to let it go for just 320 bells...

That’s pretty cheap for just about anything, so I agreed to buy it. It turned out to be a No. 2 shirt; I decided to put it on.

It must have been a lucky shirt, because the next time I spoke with someone, it was Benedict giving me his picture!

Benedict: Now, I only give my picture to my bestest friends ever!

I was actually a bit surprised he hadn’t given me his photo already. Other villagers have given theirs sooner. So I checked to see exactly when Benedict moved into town, and I was even more surprised to see it was exactly one year ago today!

I put his photo in my upstairs room, but I had to change the layout of the room. I previously left an empty row between rows of villager pics, but I was running out of room! So I pushed them all together, just leaving just a path up the right side of the room.

My 17 villager pics to date.

Benedict’s favorite quote is “Bok bok bok?! Just kidding. A huh huh huh!” That’s really some insightful stuff. 😛

Antonio is now the only current villager whose photo I don’t have yet. That is another sign that my current crop of villagers is getting a bit stale.

Rude Anteater

Benedict was talking about Big Top and Goldie tonight, wondering if they were just friends or if they had some smooching going on. He asked what I thought, and I just left the slider in the middle between those options. He apparently loves gossiping about people almost as much as he enjoys eating!

Benedict: I just love talking about other people! It's almost as fun as eating!

Antonio wanted to have a competition to see who could catch a monarch first.

Antonio: Lemme ask you this, then: How fast can you catch a monarch?

But it was late at night; I knew monarchs weren’t out! So I declined the offer, and he called me lame. How rude! Even villagers that I like end up annoying me sometimes in Wild World.

Antonio: OK, OK, I gotcha... I didn't know you were so... lame, up my nose.

I did some fishing, and I managed to catch an arapaima!

I caught an arapaima! It's big...and kinda gross!
Gross? It looks like a big green bag of bells to me! 😉

I also caught a red snapper and several salmon. When I was done, I also gathered some fruit to sell at Nookington’s. In total, I earned about 70,000 bells on the night.

Kabuki’s Big Moment

It was a dark, stormy night in Forest tonight. It was also La-Di-Day, and Benedict went on and on about how great his song was going to be.

Benedict: But if I add some sweet dance moves, Goldie is gonna be toast!

However, he neglected to actually perform his song for me…even though I spoke with him repeatedly. 😛

But when I visited Kabuki, he actually did sing his song for me. Admittedly, it wasn’t the best…but I was tired of my previous town tune, so I hired him anyway. He was so happy!

Kabuki: Whoa! No way, meooo-OH! No one has ever said they liked my singing before!

It was actually cute to see a big grump like Kabuki moved to tears. I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen this side of him before.

Kabuki: I've been waiting my whole life for this moment!

I went to the Roost, and K.K. Slider performed one of my favorite songs: K.K. Faire.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Faire!

Margie was practically the only animal in town not obsessed with La-Di-Day. She just thanked me for being her friend. That was awfully nice of her.

Margie: Thanks for being my friend. You're always there for me, and I think that's great.
