Snowman from the Snowman

Completing the snowman furniture set resulted in a very nice bounce in my Happy Room Academy score. It jumped from 113,968 to 144,856! I’m very close to my goal of 150k now! 😀

Jeff, your room gets 144,856 points. Dressers are USELESS when facing the wall! Make sure they face the right way! -Happy Room Academy

I also received a letter from the snowman, and he mentioned that Bright Nights is his favorite time of the year. Except that the snowman who sent that letter never saw the Bright Nights! They took place the previous week. But still, he sent me the snowman I was hoping for! I added it to my main room.

There was a new “Talking to Myself” message posted to the bulletin board, complaining about nonsensical words in pop songs. Hmm, I wonder what song they’re talking about. 😛

-Talking to Myself- I love pop music, but I can't understand what they're saying! Doo wop bop? Huh?

Margie advised me not to let my mailbox fill up, because my mailbox “is my window to the heart.” I don’t think I’ve heard that one before.

Margie: Your mailbox is your window to the heart! Make sure you leave that window open!

Rolf asked me for a fossil, and I had trouble finding them today. With the snow gone now, the dig spots blend in better with the grass and dirt colors. But I did eventually find all three, and I gave Rolf an ammonite.

Rolf: Thanks. You're not half as bad as I thought...
Uh, thanks?

He rewarded me with an illusion floor.

I’ve been thinking about who my favorite villager is in town, and I’m currently leaning towards it still being Goldie. Even though I might like Rolf as a character better overall, favorites can vary by game. Goldie has lived in this town much longer, and I feel like we’ve built a friendship more…while Rolf frequently rubs me the wrong way in Wild World.

Have any of you had something similar, where you might prefer one villager over another in one game (or town), but not in another?

Boondox Complete!

As expected, I received a letter from Boondox today…the final letter from Boondox (aka Boondopolis). Apparently, my donations have been helping someone (who can’t be bothered to sign their own name) to get into Lake University.

Dear Jeff, I've been studying day and night for the Lake University entrance exams. I hope I pass! -From Boondox

The rainbow feather was included. For those of you who just played the Festivale event in New Horizons or New Leaf this week, don’t be fooled. Unlike in those games, the rainbow feather in Wild World is a difficult item to obtain. You only earn it once Boondox is complete, which requires a total of 6.4 million bells in donations. I’m glad to finally have it done. Woohoo! ðŸĨģ

I also received a letter from the snowman I built last week, and he sent me a snowman table. It’s a large item, so I had to change up my main room again. Here’s a look at (part of) my room, and also my new rainbow feather.

Jeff, wearing his new rainbow feather, stands in his room of snowman furniture.

The table is my 10th snowman furniture item, so it appears that my snowman set is now complete. Technically, the snowman does give another item (a snowman), but it seems to count as a separate item and not a part of the furniture set itself. So I’ll see if I get a nice bonus in my HRA score next week (I scored 113,968 this week.)

Back outside, Antonio was wondering who built the museum. He figured that it couldn’t be Blathers, because he doesn’t have the “wing strength.”

Antonio: He may be smart and all, but I doubt he has that kind of wing strength!

Goldie was packed up and ready to move away, but I gave her some doggie treats to get her to reconsider. 😉 ðŸĶī

Bunnie was still sick with a cold, so I bought some more medicine for her. Hopefully it will help, because her hallucinations are getting pretty bad. 😛

Bunnie: Is that medicine? Or am I hallucinating? GET 'EM OFF ME!!! Oh, like, whoa...

I wrapped up my night by making another snowman. Hopefully he will send me the snowman item in the mail. We only have one more week until the snow is gone!

Snowman: I felt like one of them hamsters in a wheel! Just rolling in place...

See you next week! Never Stop Crossing! 🙂

Bright Nights 2021

Today, I received a letter from the snowman I built last week. He sent me a snowman clock, which is one of the items I still needed. So I moved my main room around a bit to make room for it. I now have nine of the snowman furniture items to go along with the floor and wall; I’m almost done!

My snowman room as of February 2021.

Rolf was in a bad mood today, and he was being more than a bit rude.

Rolf: Oh, hello! You tryin' to make me mad? 'Cause you're succeeding!

I rolled up today’s snowballs and made a perfect snowman.

Snowman: All flawlessly executed! And my face... Perfection!

Nookington’s had a spotlight product today, but it was just a plum bonsai. Even though it’s not a painting like I was hoping for, I still bought it because I needed it for my catalog.

Bunnie was sick with a cold, so I asked if she needed some medicine. She then called me a mean old liar because I didn’t have any on me. I never said I had it yet, I just asked if she needed it! It seems like everyone is being rude today!

Bunnie: You don't have medicine! LIAR! MEAN OLD LIAR! ...Oooh, I'm gonna be sick... BLARRG!
Did she just puke on me?!

But I did go buy some medicine for her anyway.

The Bright Nights festival is underway this week, with villager houses (and some trees) decorated with festive lights. I decided that Bunnie’s house looked the best, mainly because she had two decorated trees nearby.

Tortimer was outside of town hall for the event, and he seemed to be the only one in town that was in a good mood today. Well, aside from the snowman.

Tortimer: And I'm the mayor... Life is good, sprout! Whooo-eee! Heh heh heh HOORF!

I told him that Bunnie was my choice for the best house, and he said he’d pass along the compliment to her. I returned to Bunnie’s house to see if she’d mention it, but she only spoke about the medicine I gave her. Well, at least she’s feeling better now…and not leaking.

Bunnie: You know, 'cause the medicine totally made my head stop leaking!

With all of my tasks completed, I started gathering and selling fruit. Once I met my goal, I made my final million-bell donation to Boondox. Uh, I mean, Boondopolis.

Pelly: I will continue to send your donations to Boondox... I mean, Boondopolis.

So unless I made an error in my calculations, Boondox should be complete and I should receive my rainbow feather in the mail the next time I play. I’ll be sure to let you know next week. 🙂
